Hands down the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I downloaded yelp just to leave this review. The manager himself stuck out to me because of how unbelievably rude and inconsiderate he was. (If I had gotten his name, I would've included it) Employees showed absolute no care to acknowledge me standing at the counter. When they finally decide to talk to you, they give you attitude. Just went to get some breakfast and asked for a bacon McGriddle but got charged a sausage McGriddle sub bacon. So I got charged for the bacon instead of the girl just clicking the Bacon McGriddle option and not get charged extra. Tried talking to them to get my dollar back but they told me they have to charge me for the egg? Is that not included in the listed price? How hard is it to work at McDonald's really lol. If I could give no stars I would. I waited at the register for 10 minutes no one said a word to me they wanted instead talk and make jokes to each other while the manager kept telling one of them to take my order. None of them did. Then I stood there longer and debated on just going through the drive thru, and finally I walked over to the computer and typed in my order so that it would at least be placed. The workers are not friendly, whatsoever and did not get my order correct. We had to ask for the frappe we ordered and the lady at the window seemed very bothered that we asked for her to get it for us. We said thank you after she gave us our complete order and she just looked at us as the window closed. I guess the people working there aren't as sweet as Sweetwater, Texas. We stopped because I wanted a Whataburger and my kids of course wanted a happy meal. I'm not sure if it's just the town and they're used to waiting in a drive through line for more than 15 min sites at a time but dang... it took 15 minutes to get our food. The workers were severely unaffected by the long times... at least Whataburger apologized for the long wait. This is the longest wait for a happy meal ever. read more

My family would like to apologize for stopping to grab a snack here on the way to Lubbock. We did not realize our presence would interrupt whatever the employees would have rather been doing. Not one employee made us feel welcome. The floor was nasty. The straws were out and one of the members of our group heard the manager tell the employee she had been instructed to refill them. We are traveling through Texas and stopped for food for our kiddos here because our McDonalds in our town is currently being remodeled. They gave us the wrong drinks and they also forgot my son's hamburger! The main part of the meal! He woke up to eat and had only fries to eat and Unsweet tea when we ordered sweet tea for him. The lady even looked in both happy meals to see if everything was in them. Drove through, had to wait five minutes for order, this is fine, but I get more than ten miles farther down I-20 just to realize I was given the wrong order. Income back in and asked what was wrong with my order and I stated it was completely the wrong burger, she asks what was wrong with it again, I say it was the wrong burger. She asks what I was supposed to have and I try handing her the receipt, only to have her snatch it out of my hand and mumble some crap under her breath. Never even an apology. I will never come back to this location again. For an owner or manager that wants to see her attitude first hand, if you have cameras over the register, check the footage at around 5:35-5:50pm on July 6. Diving east coast to west coast and I finally found it....the worst McDonald's in the country. I mobile ordered two coffees, a Carmel latte and a regular coffee with cream and sugar. After waiting in the mobile order spot for 15 min, I go in to investigate if I had been overlooked. My order was just about ready at this point (really, 15 min for a couple of coffees? Has to be some sort of record for slowest coffee delivery). Not only did I have to wait, but they screwed up both coffees. How is it even possible to screw up coffee you say...? Well, when a customer orders coffee with cream and sugar and you serve it black that's one way. The second way is when a customer orders a carmel latte and it is just a latte, that is another way. I don't know if the employees are lazy, incompetent or both.....I suspect both. Avoid this McDonald's. Would be 0 stars if possible. read more

The food is decent but the turn around time on an order is terrible. Make sure you have at least 20 plus minutes to wait whether you go inside or in the drive. If I have to pull forward like the last 3 times expect to wait several several minutes. Most of the people are friendly, but I have seen a conflict between a couple of employees. But I have traveled between Lubbock and Dallas for years and I gotta tell you my wife and I always look forward to stopping at this McDonald's in Sweetwater. I'm glad to back up another review stating that this location seems to have gotten their stuff together. No road trip is complete until I have a hash brown in one hand and Sausage McMuffin with Egg in the other, and consistently everything is hot, fast and fresh. My husband (bless his heart) is a fan of the chicken nuggets and I have to admit, they make me nostalgic in a way. :) And if I'm honest, I will occasionally crave a filet o'fish, which are always really tasty if you're into that kind of thing. (Not many people are, so they're cooked to order which always ends in a better product.) Maybe the nostalgia factors into how Mc'D's stays in biz, but those McMuffins are definitely what bring me back, over and over. read more

Lady who took our order was awesome! Made fresh coffee and didn't just give my mom cream and sugar, but took the time to make it for her while we tended to my toddler! Not much of play area and when the bigger kids are running around it isn't safe for the younger ones to play. I feel like I have to stipulate at the beginning that I generally would avoid McDonald's, but that probably more for my ego than anything else. Nevertheless, we brought the family here as our fist pitstop on a road trip from Austin to LA by way of the Grand Canyon. It did not turn out well. We may be a little neurotic so we had times planned for arrival and departure, we were trending a little ahead and feeling good when we got into the Mickey D's lot and took everyone in for a bathroom break and to place our order. The trouble began here, the bathrooms were 85º+ and this multiplied the less than clean aroma in both the mens' and womens' rooms The place was slammed, it seemed all of Sweetwater had come out for Sunday morning breakfast. As we placed our order I got the third degree about asking for a few items of the side of a plate (we have a slightly picky eater - nothing crazy). Ten we waited, and waited... and waited. It took 40 minutes to get 5 breakfast meals. This appeared to be the norm as there were a group of folks grumbling about the time at the pickup counter. The food was standard McDonald's fare - perfectly acceptable. If you are just passing through and are hoping for a quick place to grab some food this isnt it. read more

I stopped in last night for a cup of coffee. Everyone was tearing around at least making a show of trying to get things done on time. The couple in front of me had obviously been waiting a while and I waited what seemed like a full 5 min till someone finally just got a cup of coffee. They finally gave the couple in front of me their money back because of their long wait but still served their food. So I needed a place to work with internet service till my motel room was available to check in. The place was absolutely filthy. It appeared to be a couple of days worth of food under the tables etc not to mention the internet was so slow I had to use my phones hotspot to get internet access. My mocha was served in a timely manner this morning but I noticed the staff seems to always be in a state of frenzied pandemonium! I would not recommend going here if you wanted a fast clean place to eat. It leaves you wondering how clean the food preparation areas are where you can't see! 12:18am I pull up to Mc Donalds here in Sweetwater and I was denied service the guy at the drive thru window said he was closed so I drove off and went home hungry when I told my wife they were closed she said it's friday why would they be closed I got enraged and call back sure thing they said no we're open until 1am so did they appologize? no nothing. I'm a Sweetwater resident and go to McDonald's often. Since the remodel, I can say the place looks a lot better, and the food is still the same. Which is nice, when you get what you order. The fries seem to go from cold, re-fried, no salt, or half the dead sea has been heaped in there, but every piece of chicken or beef I've ordered has come out just fine. Oh, and the bacon is some of the best in my opinion. Just don't expect to get extra pickles, or no onions, or just ketchup, or any other 'special' order. Three times in the last month I've had to wait, for thirty minutes or more in drive thru, with only a few other cars in line. Once, they had computer problems and had to do the money calculations with their phones, and then had no idea what order went to which car when I got to the window. Once I pulled up to the outside lane and sat, while three cars went through the inside lane. I finally backed up and got in the other lane just to be told, "Yeah, that other one hasn't been working right." Maybe an 'Out of Order sign? Third time, it was just slow. no explanation was given. Tonight, my wife went up there for some 4A.M. munchies. She gets off at midnight and it's one of the few quiet times to catch up on our day that we get. After spending 5 minutes at the menu with no response, she pulls up to the window. She called to verify my order and waited for another 5 minutes. At least two employees looked at her through the window, but nobody came to see what she wanted. If you are going to be 24 hrs., please get some competent evening employees. If you just don't want our money, let us know this too. It would save me some time by just going to Whataburger or Arby's. Both of which have seldom, if ever, gotten my order wrong, and are open 24 hrs. The Arby's at the new Luv's gas station has been closed a couple of times when I went due to water problems at the new store, but have always been friendly and have good food. Oh, and they don't have fountain Coke. I've never personally had a problem with anything other than the speed of service at Whataburger, but it's worth it for fresh food. read more
