Typical McDonald's but relatively small in terms of how many seats were available. One of the self service kiosks were out of order so I had to wait my turn. I wanted to pay cash so I had to go to the window, which I had to wait because they were busy doing other things. The fries were probably the best I've had from McDonald's. The afternoon/dinner service is embarrassingly bad. A bunch of buffoonish disrespectful "employees" have private discussions in front of customers and take their time to serve old and undercooked food. I worked at Mcdonalds when I was 15. I would run circles around these clowns and my crew chief would have fired them for incompetence and general rudeness. Moreover, as a former employee I can tell you they don't follow internal Mcdonalds food retention guidelines and procedures so food is often old and cold and sometimes dangerous to eat. I love this location. The crew are very friendly. I chose to come to this location for my coffee every morning before work. They always give me hot and fresh coffee , which is a reason why I love coming here. I stopped at Dunkin once for a cup of coffee that was cold and tasted old, which surprised me since Dunkin' is know for coffee. I always see the store manager around when I go every morning, she makes sure all her costumers get a great service, and amazing food. Of course you're going to have some Karen's here and there, but from my experience this store is amazing, and I would definitely recommend. read more

We had a bad experience at this location about 5-6 years ago, and thought we would give them a shot again after going to the McDonald's at 170 Hoosick (without issue) on our approximately annual drive through Troy. We arrived at approximately 11:30 am on July 18 and proceeded to place our order at the kiosk, which was a first time experience for us. Although it was quite a slow and cumbersome process (Issue #1), we were able to place our order, which included four hash browns. We chose to pay at the counter. The friendly cashier took our cash payment, and we sat down to await ) delivery of our order, in a VERY COLD seating area (Issue #2). After a few minutes, a friendly young man stopped by to advise us that they don't serve hash browns at that location after 11:00am (Issue # 3). He provided alternatives to us, and we chose to take one medium order of fries and a store credit for the difference. He was not able to provide a reasonable explanation for providing a store credit rather than a cash refund. We were assured that the credit could be used at any McDonald's location. Our meal was then delivered with a promise that he would return with the store credit - he did not return (Issue #4). After finishing our meal, I went to the counter to get the credit that we were due. The young man saw us - although there was no apology, he promptly went to speak with someone else (presumably the store manager). The manager, also without an apology, provided us with two coupons for free desserts (your form #449261-5 #3). Although the value was more than the credit we were due, these coupons were not acceptable as neither my wife nor I care for any of their desserts. I noted to the manager that the kiosk accepted our order. If there are any products that aren't available for whatever reason, it should be impossible to even place the order on the kiosk (Issue #5). The manager said that the kiosk should not have taken the order. Although that's 100% true, that frankly is a corporate problem not a customer issue - and didn't resolve anything. When we originally took the receipt to the register, the cashier had another chance to avoid the issue, but rather than tell us that the hash browns were not available, she accepted the order and took our cash payment (Issue #6). The manager was dumbfounded when I pointed out to her that the cashier should not have accepted the order. The manager claimed that it was corporate policy not to issue cash refunds EVEN FOR ERRORS THAT ARE MADE BY COMPANY EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL(Issue #7). She went back to her office and came back with two replacement "store credits" that supposedly would be accepted at McDonald's nationwide. I was told that I could accept those credits or they would keep track of the refund that was due us in a black notebook they keep at the counter. Based on the size of that notebook, refunds are a common issue here. I told here that we live near Chicago, so the 'black notebook' was not at option. At this point the manager shocked us by offering to make the hash browns! This offer was made, of course, AFTER we finished our meal and AFTER all the run-around with the store credits. It shocks the conscience (Issue #8). This ordeal had already taken too long and we had many hours of driving ahead of us, so waiting for what we originally ordered was a non-starter. We did not look at the coupons until we were over 100 miles away - which is when we noticed that one of them was for dessert even though the manager knew that wasn't acceptable (Issue #9), and, more importantly, that the coupons are only acceptable at selected locations in NY, CT, MA and NJ - and are thus clearly useless to a customer that lives near Chicago (Issue #10). Interestingly enough, the credit voucher does not appear to even be acceptable at this Troy NY location. I can assure you that we will never frequent the 780 Hoosick location again. Like most Americans, I tend to eat at many different McDonald's locations on a frequent basis. This is the ONLY location that I will refuse to go to in the future. Rich read more

The service is horrendously slow. It's awful. I don't expect a LOT from McDonald's, but for crying out loud, it's called fast food. I'm standing here 15 minutes after ordering my food, still waiting. And the kiosks where you enter your order are the worst idea ever hatched. They never work right, the screens go blank and it takes forever, and if you're putting those in and eliminating the convenience of having a person to explain your order to, lower the price of the food. Went here recently and it was very dirty. There were flies everywhere, the floor was sticky, and surfaces were mostly dirty with crumbs and other things on them. Service was mediocre and bland. The workers were not happy and we were not served with a positive attitude. Asked for a McFlurry with M&Ms and it was not made right. Behind the counter, things were dirtier than in the eating area. Drove through on the way through town. We left without our drink so we circled around. On the way through the drive through we noticed our order was wrong and the hamburger had cheese. The assistant manager at the window made us go park and come inside. Since it was raining outside we got to get wet. Once inside they made the order again...with cheese again. They made it a third time...with cheese. The fourth time they got it right. Total time to get our order was 24 minutes. Worst McDonalds location I've ever been too. Ordered breakfast, Order taker never gave me my drink cup. I never got anything with the 20 minutes I waited for my stuff. 2 other customers before me were rather upset getting little to no service as well. I didn't even get anything and asked for my money back. I was told I could only get store credit. Now why would I want store credit when the place was a dysfunctional store. The owner of this store must not care too much about the service and must be content on getting what they are getting sales wise. I always stop here on my way from NY to NH. It's always been fine- clean when I go in to order, or quick if I just use the drive thru. My orders have always been correct. This past time, however, the gentleman taking my order was especially friendly and pleasant. I was given a six piece McNugget instead of the four I ordered. Wow, I have been in some poor McDonald's but this one was the first that I walked out of without all my food! First clue should have been the "no refunds" sign posted on the cash register, apparently they get that request A LOT! Stood in front of the cashier with the sign hanging over it that said "order here" and waited...two girls doing absolutely nothing just stood there, did not say a word. Finally I asked the person in front of me if they were in line and they told me that you had to order from the touch screen and pointed out to ordering stations behind me...Stood in line there for about five minutes, guy in front of me finishes, turns around and says "good luck!". Put in my order which takes about 10 times longer than if a person behind the register just took it, but little did I know that was just the beginning of the LONG wait. When we walked in there were people standing all over the front of the store, should have noticed their faces. After waiting about 15 minutes and noticing all the people who ordered before me where still without their food, I started to get a little impatient. One woman was mad, being polite but obviously mad about here order being wrong. Other people were growing impatient with long waits. At almost the 1/2 hour point one guy want a refund as do I. They say no refunds but after a few minutes give him one. I say I want one too, and am told no refunds. The give me part of my order and saying my food is ready but then begins the wait for the rest of it. Finally, I left. It was truly the most ridiculous experience I have ever had at a "fast" food restaurant. Never again, even my daughter who was with me and my husband vowed that she was done with McDonald's. When we got to where we were going down the road we told the owner of that business about it and he said that the McDonald's is known for these issues and they are common. Looking back on the reviews, slowness has been an issue with them for years. On a side note, it did appear clean and the girls behind the counter were nice enough, especially since it seems their only job was to stand there and look uncomfortable while customers got increasingly upset in front of them! I won't give it one star because the mexican manager guy was relatively nice. I walked across the street from Midas. they were doing work on my car, to get my younger son some chicken nuggets. It was sorta near breakfast, and I don't like their afternoon food, so I asked if anything was left. He said a few eggs were and offered a sandwich. The line maker was cleaning his station with a sanitizer cloth WITH HIS GLOVES ON!. When done, he moved to sweeping..WITH HIS GLOVES ON!!!! I've been a manager at food places and this is unacceptable. I stopped going to mcdonalds in east greenbush on rt4 because a guy was mopping and went over to the station to make food, so this disgusted me. I'm a serious germ freak. I had to ask them (managers and supervisors) 3 TIMES before he took his gloves off. I got my sons food and nothing for my self. The person tending to my sons food was much cleaner and AWARE. I can't say I will be back, IF I ever HAVE to, I will be going INSIDE to monitor what preparations are done to my food. read more
