The location of this Mc Donald's is very convenient. It's located on North Hampton Blvd in Virginia Brach. The location is everything and it's a newer establishment but.... due to the prime location they are normally very busy especially in the morning. Inside and drive thru is packed. This location has been renovated and has cool tablets attached to some of the booths which makes this location my sons favorite. Today the drive thru line went pretty quickly and I thought Wow today will be a great experience until I realized that the 20 price of nuggets seemed stale and old. Even my 10 year old agreed and normally he wouldn't complain. Upon asking for a fresh batch I was advised that I would have to wait and to pull into a reserved drive thru spot. My server did not seem too pleased. Your facial expression and body language seemed less than pleased but we want fresh nuggets! My experience here is a hit or miss. I do like that this location will make nuggets for breakfast. They are not readily available but you can order them. I have even ordered them over the phone for breakfast and picked them up thru drive thru. Not all Mc Donald's will accommodate nugget cravings for breakfast. Apologies no pic of old nuggets. I returned them before being able to take a pic but the fresh ones were piping hot and crisp

Spent 20 minutes waiting for food. Not a good location unless you want to wait.

Don't come here. Everyone was polite but the overall service is horrendous. We made our order, paid and they asked us to pull in the "C" parking spot. 5 minutes goes by, then 10. The people on either side of us in spots "B and C" left their cars and went inside to see what's up with their orders. 5 minutes later they come out with bags and drove off. We are now in the 20 min range. In the meantime, people are coming and going through the drive thru. We finally went in and canceled our order and asked for a refund. It's an extremely disorganized location and not worth anyones time.

Quarter Pounder with Cheese minus bottom bun.

Employees say nothing to you as they had you your receipt and food. Then they forget your bun in your burger. Or maybe they did it on purpose since I said "hi" and "thank you". Silly me! I didn't realize this place is staffed by aliens from the planet: Backwardsassservice IV!

She was welcoming, helpful, and offered thoughtful order suggestions. She was also patient, professional, and knowledgeable, and she processed our orders and payments quickly and efficiently. The staff who prepared our food were friendly and attentive, making sure every order was correct. Their attention to detail was excellent from start to finish. I ordered Bo's chicken sandwich, not spicy, along with a biscuit and peach iced tea. The sandwich was well seasoned, and the biscuit was golden brown on top, pale on the sides, flaky on the outside, and soft and layered inside. Its flavor was rich, buttery, and mild. The peach iced tea was delicious, and altogether, everything was finger-licking good. The Bojangles team, from the cashier to the cooks and order preparers, worked together smoothly. Even during the busy lunch rush, they remained calm, friendly, and attentive with a wonderful sense of humor. I also had the pleasure of meeting Vince, the Director of Operations at this location. He represented the company exceptionally well. He was personable, efficient, and clearly skilled at managing both the team and production. During the lunch rush, I saw him clearing tables and greeting guests when the dining area became short-staffed because of the crowd. He gave clear, precise instructions without raising his voice, speaking to his staff in a calm and respectful way. The mutual respect between Vince and his team was easy to see. Until next time, keep up the great work.

Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. The chicken itself was fine, but the biscuit was very thick, heavy, and greasy. The seasoned fries were just okay, and the sweet tea wasn't as good as I had hoped. On the positive side, the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, great service but the food fell short for us.

Their Coleslaw is perfection. It's pure coleslaw, just like I like it, without sauce or mayonnaise. They have an extensive list of milkshake flavors, which I'm told are amazing. A few are seasonal. My continuous dieting has kept me from trying them. But when December arrives I may splurge calories on an Egg Nog Shake. Anytime I'm in the area, or close to the area I'll stop and buy enough for two meals. Each sandwich is wrapped in a thick heavy aluminum foil type wrap, which keeps the bun soft in the refrigerator. The coleslaw is best for me on the side. But there's never enough for the second day. Yesterday I ordered two side orders of coleslaw. They were the same small size of the "slaw on the side" ones. I know they must have larger containers. Next time I'm going to be more descriptive in my order. The personnel are friendly and helpful. Every time I've been, regardless of time, the same woman has been at the register. The location is just off Military Highway. The storefront appears to be on that major thoroughfare. But the parking lot is entered and faces Valley Drive. If approaching from the south there is no curb cut. One had to make a U turn to reach Valley Drive. If headed north from the restaurant I continue on Valley Drive and take a right on Raby Road which takes you to a traffic signal on Military Highway. The storefront is attractive and captures one's attention. The inside is spacious with fast food type booths that are larger than most. The walls are decorated with hangings such as one featuring the Old Dominion Monarchs. There were once rumors of a store being built in the Haygood area. So far that hasn't happened. The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV
