Exterior (on our 10/6/25 lunch visit)

Reluctantly, one of my work week lunch stops. This location consistently has bad service (staff not well-trained and always seems to turn over). The front lobby layout is horrible, as they've installed multiple order kiosks which crowd the already tight space and have only one person at a register. Usually, that person has so much difficulty taking and getting the orders correct. Perhaps they stick all their new employees there, but with little to no oversight. I usually go through the drive thru which is much better than inside. The inside has its own issues, a soda machine that often needs cleaning/re-stocking of lids, straws are kept at the front counter, away from the soda machine, and napkins and condiments must be requested from the already busy staff. They still provide to your-table delivery when your order is ready, however yesterday I didn't receive a number placard, so the young man walked right by us twice, before calling out my order number. I ordered a burger with "no onions" and of course got onions. The parking lot is shared with a Panda Express, Applebee's and Panera Bread, so it can be tough to find a spot at times. I recommend the drive thru.

When you order a Monopoly meal you expect to get one. Guess this McDonald's can only get an order half right, as I got 1 of 2. Overall you have to watch this place like a hawk the order is only right half the time.

I always use the MCD app to order at this location because they have 2 drive-throughs and they move quickly. They also miss giving some items when they are busy. (so make sure you double-check your order before driving away) Their fries are made fresh and crispy. I had to go to the restroom before getting my order but the restroom door was locked and a worker there helped me to punch the code right away.

Good place to get your breakfast. If you don't use their App, you will be paying premium price for substandard foods.

This McDonald's location is located next to Mt Sac and Cal Poly Pomona so it is always extremely busy. Unfortunately due to it always being busy, they often mess up orders. I ordered a 6 pc chicken nugget happy meal and a filet o fish without tartar sauce. They forgot my fries in my happy meal, didn't give me any of the sauces I ordered, and didn't give me any napkins. I found myself having to go up to the counter several times to ask for things and it took a while to get a worker's attention due to how busy it is. I would prefer to go to a different McDonald's over this one if I have the time to drive to a different area.

Clean and serve really fast. Lots people here for breakfast and all of them are playing the Monopoly game on their app.

I was out running errands this morning and stopped for a quick bite. The little sausage burrito was okay, but my coffee was lukewarm. I think I'll try another location next time.

Bought large fries but it had less fries inside, looked like medium one. I experienced this a couple time. Cheating?

The drink is super smooth and creamy with really strong jasmine and oolong flavors. And the brown sugar mochi jelly??? Boba WHO? It's soft, chewy, and honestly so much better than boba. The best part is that you can even save your drink for the next day and the mochi jelly stays soft instead of getting hard like boba does. I cannot recommend this specific order enough. There's a reason Torotea has expanded so much! I'm not the biggest fan of the Diamond Bar location purely because of the line, so I'd recommend trying one of their other locations if you don't want to wait as long. You can also order online on weekdays to avoid the line, but there is a small online fee. Also shoutout to whoever designed their shops because they absolutely killed the boho vibes. Super cute inside and the perfect place to wait for your drink. There isn't much of a seating area to chat given the line and large volume of traffic. Overall, as I can't emphasize any further, JASMINE OOLING WITH MOCHI JELLY.

Unfortunately, I left disappointed. One positive is the overall aesthetic. I like the layout and the lighting design, and the globe fixtures give the shop a nice modern look. Unfortunately, when you look closer, the fixtures have visible dust and grime buildup. Some of them are high up, so I understand they aren't easy to clean, but this is where an occasional ladder or professional deep cleaning comes in. The shop has good design bones; it just needs more attention to cleaning and maintenance. The music itself is trendy and current, but it is much too loud for a work-friendly coffee shop, especially because the space is very echoey. I'm including a screenshot of the sound level along with a short video so people can get a sense of it for themselves. I found it basically impossible to concentrate without earplugs or noise-canceling headphones. Seating is also limited and isn't very comfortable. It's mostly hard wooden benches and plastic or metal folding-style chairs. Nothing egregious, but not especially comfortable if you're planning to sit and work for a while. What really started the experience off badly for me was my drink. I ordered an iced matcha for $6.75 and asked if they could do less ice. I was told that if I wanted less ice, the drink would be less full. I said never mind and asked for it to just be filled normally. When I received it, though, my matcha still had noticeably less liquid than my husband's drink. Since they only offer one size for each iced drink, the difference was pretty obvious. We also tipped $1. The matcha itself was just your standard iced matcha -- nothing special -- and definitely didn't feel worth $6.75 to me. My husband's $8 Butterscotch Cream Latte actually tasted good, but after he finished it, we were surprised by how much of the cup was taken up by ice. The photo speaks for itself. Given that I had already been told that requesting less ice would result in a less-full drink, this really diminished the value for me. The bathroom was another big negative. I tend to judge the cleanliness of a business by its restroom, and this one did not give me confidence. The bathroom door and several surrounding surfaces looked like they had not been thoroughly wiped down in quite a while, with visible grime and buildup, and there were also holes in the wall. Even the glass entrance doors had visible smudges and residue. I'm including photos because these things were noticeable and contributed to an overall poorly maintained impression. There were no paper towels available. Instead, an old-looking handwritten sign was taped over the dispenser saying, "Please use the air dryer. Thank you!" I personally avoid hand dryers because of hygiene concerns, so after washing my hands I ended up using toilet paper and a toilet-seat cover so I could open the bathroom door without touching the handle directly. At that point, they might as well remove the paper towel dispenser entirely. Leaving an unused dispenser covered by an aged paper sign just looks lazy and poorly maintained to me, especially in a customer-facing bathroom. Aesthetically, I also wasn't a fan of all the taped-up paper signs. The front entrance has a large paper sign taped directly to the glass saying "PLEASE CLOSE THE DOOR GENTLY. THANK YOU!!!" along with several other smaller notices, and the bathroom has the aged handwritten sign taped over the unused paper towel dispenser. These are small details individually, but together with the visible grime, holes, and neglected surfaces, they made the shop feel more makeshift and poorly maintained than the otherwise nice design deserves. It clearly seems to be a popular spot, and my husband had far fewer complaints and enjoyed his latte. I also think the overall layout and lighting aesthetic have potential. For me, though, the underfilled matcha, ice-heavy drinks, standard-at-best matcha, loud music, limited seating, uncomfortable chairs, and overall cleanliness and maintenance made this a disappointing first visit.

For the pastries, it looked like a lot of the ones I was hoping from browsing online were not available. I ended up getting the biscoff cheesecake. It was on the sweeter side but it was very good. For the drink, I ended up getting the banana latte. Been on a streak of getting that lately so wanted to compare with other stores. I didn't get a lot of banana in the taste. At least it had an espresso shot for the caffeine fix and did not taste like the artificial banana. Nothing special there and stand out. For the interior, they had a few seating they primarily accommodated a few groups of four and two. I was able to grab a bench seat that had an outlet. However, there wasn't enough space for my laptop and the items I ordered. WiFi was available but it had a 90 minute limit. The store had a moderate noise level and stayed busy throughout the time that I was there. The service on the order was quick and they do bring it out to you. The store also has their own house espresso which was a medium dark roast. American Express is accepted as a payment option here. Overall, it was a decent work spot. If I come back, I'd prefer to try another drink and hope other pastries are available. Would recommend the biscoff cheesecake for those that want something sweet and the house coffee beans for those that like medium roasts.
