I got in to a minor accident and needed to get 3 quotes. I decided to go with Alpha since their quote were more in line with the cost of the replacement mirror and labor, compared to the quotes that were half the cost of their quote. I tried to work with the owner of the company that I got in the accident with and Alpha and they could would work out the payment arrangement. Big mistake. I visited Alpha for the initial quote which I received. They were going to order the part and let me know when I arrived. I went back about a month later. They looked in the system, said that there was note and he said he would have to call me back. So I left. Another month went by and I did the same thing and left with the same result. My guess and its just that, the owner of the company that cause the accident and Alpha got together and decided not to work with me. I don't know. Only my mirror was damaged after a work truck crossed into my lane and decided not to stop. I filed a police report and I should have just called a lawyer. Lesson learned. Thanks for nothing Alpha. Too much time passed and now will have to replace my own mirror and I accept my mistakes for not stay on both companies. read more

After a quick inspection, we were informed the vehicle needed a brand-new engine--a repair quoted between $9,000-$10,000. The staff insisted this was the only option, and they removed the engine cover during the process. Thankfully, we sought a second opinion from a trusted mechanic and took the car to Legacy in McDonough, where we were told an engine replacement was completely unnecessary. The issue turned out to be a known and documented problem with that engine model (supported by a Ford service bulletin), not a catastrophic failure. Legacy handled the fix properly, professionally, and at a fraction of the quoted cost. When we contacted Alpha Automotive about the removed engine cover, they did apologize--but that didn't change the fact that we were nearly misled into an expensive, unnecessary repair. I took my car in by appointment on a Thursday 9 am. Friday Still outside. No one looked at it. Next day Parts seem to be a problem. For a check engine light on. Did not run hot. Needed a thermostat. Told 855. Mother's Day weekend. Disappointed. Made arrangements to see my mom. Told I would have by Monday. Monday morning came around my calls went to voicemail all day. End of the day closing they told me a problem getting the correct sensors that were incorrect in the beginning. Manager drove to chamblee Tucker to get the correct sensor They Offered to stay that night to have ready. I was polite said no. Tuesday I told sorry. It's now 950 I'm disappointed. Extremely upset. They had my truck for 3 weeks and did absolutely nothing with it. Excuse after excuse. charge me a diagnostic fee which states "multiple codes". '. Which were the codes I already told them i had and just needed fixed. Over the 3 weeks they had my truck I only received one phone call from a tech who stated "i probably needed a new motor because he looked at the car fax" what ever that means. Then proceeded to let me know he hasn't even looked at the truck yet. The guy at the front desk then calls me a liar and said no one ever called me. Which I pull my phone out and show him the call. I called every Friday for 3 weeks on updates and every week it was the same thing, oh yea we're working on it. Or no we actually haven't started on it yet. They don't have a clue what's going on. The guys at the front desk have no idea what's going on at the shop. I don't understand how other people have these nice things to say about the place and I end up having service as horrible as this. They tried to act like I'm wrong for being upset that the 3 weeks they had my truck they did absolutely nothing with it. I arrived there giving them the 4 codes. They told me they'd take a look, but my car ended up sitting there for over a week with zero communication. I called multiple times and could never get a straight answer -- it became clear no one had even touched my vehicle. We initially came to Alpha to figure out why my girlfriend's Jaguar X-type was making some weird noises around the brakes. She walked in and they tightened her axle nuts for free. Soon after, they recommended we get front tires because the ones on there were used and old. At the time, they noticed our tires were wearing unevenly but forgot to recommend an alignment. We visited one more time and couldn't afford the repairs so we did it ourselves, no big deal despite the diagnostic being a little pricey at around 150$. Fast forward to this week, with less than 1000 miles on our new tires they had worn unevenly into dangerous territory and despite that not being covered by the warranty they replaced the tires and covered them for us due to their mistake of forgetting the alignment. Most shops would have told us too bad so sad. We highly recommend alpha and their location in Locust grove, David and Lindsey respectively did their best to work with us each time and we thank them for their services! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My car shut down here on Saturday and was able to get my car in neutral and into a parking space. I called on Monday informing them of my problem, I was informed they can't do anything without my keys, never informed of a diagnostic price. Dropped my keys off on Wednesday, Thursday they looked at my car and quoted me 3k for my brakes (just fixed elsewhere) and replacing my entire fuel tank/pump and my engine's thermostat (only accurate issue). I was informed my car wouldn't work until I replaced my fuel tank and thermostat. Something told me to go and put gas in my car, my gauge is sometimes incorrect. I get there, my car isn't in the spot I parked it in, strange. The front desk guy was rude when I asked as to why I wasn't informed of my diagnostic price PRIOR to giving the keys after stating I should've been informed on the phone or while dropping off my keys. Neither happened. I requested a call from the manager, David, never happened. Called him myself, he has yet to return my call. It's now been over a week. This company does not have it's clients best interest at heart. If you can go ANYWHERE else you should. Always get a second opinion. Even their parts are marked up 2x on top of their insane diagnostic and labor costs. 3k to fix my car when my only problem was gas and they knowingly told me my car wouldn't move until i fixed it. Very Disappointed. On 27 Dec 2023 they charged me $249.95 for a part they replaced. Identical part at Autozone listed for $136.99 - mark-up of 82% above retail (of course they did not pay retail). Spoke with the manager and he said they don't charge retail price - they use a computer generated algorithm to mark up all the parts they install. I suspect they use the same "mark-up algorithm" for labor costs. Will not be going back. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could give a half star or less. Kevin is no longer the owner and talk about a HUGE change for the worse. These people are thieves. I brought my car in and was told would be $199. Left the car at 8:45ish AM and had not heard anything at 2:22PM. Called and was told car being brought back to look at it then. At 2:54pm I received a text saying my vehicle was done. Called and asked Tron what was the findings and he said my car has lots of codes and they do not handle that. I asked what would be the charge for this 15 mins of work and he told me "exactly what I told you this morning". I asked for a mgr. When I arrived the bill was changed to $99 and upon speaking with the mgr who confirmed they did NOTHING to my car, he told me they plugged the machine into it and claimed they lifted it and looked at it. After some exchange of words I just said whatever and paid the $99. I was then informed by Tron they had a 3% charge for using a credit card. I asked where this info was posted and I was directed, multiple times, to a piece of paper taped to the counter that was completely illegible and a sign on the door that did not exist. I was then told repeatedly by Tron, the Mgr and another green haired girl that the sign was "supposed to be there". Needless to say, I just took my keys and left. Thier customer service and service in general was less than poor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET NOTHING AND PAY EXTRA!!!! read more

I have been going to Alpha Automotive with my vehicles for the past 3 yrs. A couple of weeks ago my 2008 Ford Expedition stopped suddenly in Atlanta. After getting towed home on a Sunday, I called and left a message for Alpha Automotive about my situation. The next morning Shannon from Alpha Automotive called me. My Expedition was picked up by a tow truck noon that day. After diagnosing the problem, it was fixed by Wednesday morning. I picked it up that afternoon. I drove the vehicle a few hours to get some errands done and it was stalling (misding) a little. Thursday morning I took it back to Alpha, they put it on the diagnostic machine, in an hour they had fixed my vehicle, and I was back on my way. When we arrived, the shop was obviously very busy(which is a good sign). The staff was friendly and professional. I told them what I needed and they asked if I had an appointment. "Shady Business Practice" My truck Broke Down and I knew it was the alternator. When I call AAA for a tow, they recommended this company for the repair saying that I would receive a 10% discount and they are AAA approved. I've Never done business with this company but decided what the heck, it's just an alternator right. I was completely wrong. Where the shady business practice happen in my opinion is when I talked with the gentleman over the phone he told me "yes we test your alternator and it looks to be bad" let me get it worked up and I'll call you back with a price. When the gentleman called me back he said that my total cost would be $585 I told him the truck has 250,000 miles on it and is over 17 years old. Not looking to invest that kind of money in a work truck. He said that they only used OEM parts and it includes a three-year 36,000 mile warranty. I told him OK I'll do it. when we hang up the phone I called back 45 minutes later to tell him not to do the work because that quote just did not sit well with me. I wasn't happy with the price because I called the dealership and this company sold me the parts for $95 higher than what it would've cost me to go to the dealership. Story gets better, when I asked him not to do the work 45 minutes later he says oh I wish you would've told me that when we first talk because my guy is almost done with your truck. I said really? you keep a factory OEM ford F-150 alternator in on hand, How convenient. I said how did you get the parts that fast. His response was, yeah we keep those in stock.. That was very sketchy and I believe. I addressed my concerns with my representative and he basically told me it is what it is. he also told me hey man I got this thing all the way down and he took about $11 off my bill which was still almost 15% higher parts and labor cost if I would've went to the Ford dealership because he charged me 30% higher for the cost of the part. My point is, if you have a vehicle an do not want to put OEM parts on your vehicle that can cost five times the amount of a non OEM part do not take your vehicle here because they will not Give you that option and my cost was higher then the dealership. I will also inform AAA about my experience and maybe they will stop recommending this company because I feel like they did not do right by me. His explanation for not using aftermarket parts were and I quote. "They go out quickly, sometimes within 6 months and we have to warrantee the repair and part" he also mentioned the vehicle that was not mine as an example. I told him that there great aftermarket parts out there but you can't mark the price up 30%. If you want factory parts at over dealer prices, go here. Just take your vehicle to the dealer. So when I picked up the truck I explained to him how I felt like this was not right. He could not justify the 30% up-charge on the part. He said well you know we have to keep the lights on. I went to these guys to fix 'check engine light' they looked at the car and estimated it for $1,200 with parts alone costing upwards of $500. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion, all the car needed was a small valve that costs fraction of what they told me. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. read more

Why 5 stars ? Very simple...that is the most I am allowed to give by YELP. If possible I would give these guys 10 stars. I have been a customer of them years before I became friends with the owner Kevin. I have had them help me from towing a car from 40 miles away, to emergency oil changes, to last minute emission checks. All I have to do is call them, they come pick up my car, change the oil and fix anything else that may be wrong with my vehicle, and by lunch time that car is back at my office. Doesn't get any better than this. The owner is there, and will help you with any questions you got. Kevin not only is a great person outside the work place, but whila at work he takes excellent care of his customers. My main reason why I love Alpha Tires ? HONESTY. They will not do anything to your vehicle that doesn't need to be done. 100 % integrity. Feel free to use them for any mechanical issue on your vehicle. They located many problems with my Jeep, most of which was a result of a shoddy repair job by a previous mechanic. They didn't just name out the problems, they show you on your car what's going on.
