First of all I have used McFarlands Mobile Mechanics three times before and had great success with them fixing the problem. this time I explained the problem to the manager, and he was willing to help me schedule an appointment to do a diagnostic find out what the problem is the technician came and did a diagnostic and said their was a misfire on number four cylinder so he determined that it must be the fuel injectors and he said nothing about checking the coils or the plug wires from what I've read if the compression is bad, it could misfire as well. I've read, you can check the coil to see if it's working or the plug wires. he did none of that which in my view would've been a lot cheaper to do first the coil the plug wire compression check before getting to the fuel injectors so I still have a rough idle after the fuel injectors were replaced so I still have a vehicle that I can't drive and when I called them back, the manager says he trusts his technicians and they're good mechanics he also said well you agreed to have this work done and I did because I trusted the mechanic to know what he was doing and solve the problem and now unless I pay you more money to diagnose the problem again you're washing your hands of me. I don't feel that I'm being unfair. I feel that you went for the most expensive repair first before these other things were checked out and I'm also questioning your character when it comes to telling me that you're charging me fuel cost for 60 miles between Salem and Hubbard when it was only 25 miles so unless I brought that up, you would have over charged for that so right now I'm not a very happy person. This company the other times that I had them come out and work on my vehicles have treated me right. I don't know if this is the same manager that I talked to before in the past? I just don't feel that I'm being treated fairly and until this is resolved, I will not be using you again. read more

Poor communication with staff leading to inaccurate information. The staff, in particular, the manager was very unprofessional, repeatedly calling customers "bro" when dealing with an issue. We were told by multiple employees that we could stop by on a Saturday, when we did, no one was present. Overall very poor experience and will not be using or recommending this business again. read more

The solenoid went out on the starter on my pick up truck and I didn't want to risk driving to a shop not having a starter and towing would be $100 each way. So I called these guys and scheduled an appointment. I didn't know they were located in Salem, with me in Eugene , I was ready to keep looking but they were open to scheduling for the following week, the truck had been sitting for 6 months so it didn't matter to me. They communicated and were on time with all encounters and the job was completed and all I needed to do was to replace the two batterie$. I would recommend their service and would use again. Proceed with caution. Thinking I should have taken time off work to be there and watch him work to validate all that went on. I'm sure they are professional and know their stuff (they told me several times) and I'm sure they have all the tools they need in the back of the truck ... but I'm saying, be there and stay there and watch what their doing to validate the expense. Somehow a job that should have taken less than an hour was charged at 3 hours and at 100+ dollars and hour it adds up...If your not there a shocking bill becomes a he said she said and because your not there to validate ... you loose...after all their "professionals and have done this for a long time" got it. Yes I even got the song and dance routine of "well when things are taken apart it takes longer to put it back together and the replacement part had loose parts, and it takes time to figure out where those loose parts go.....blah blah blah. Yes, as you can see...I'm not happy. When you start getting excuses for the outrageous bill it means only one thing in my book. I did some inquiring about the work with some other mechanics, each one looked it up in a book on how long it should take all said about 35 minutes, but added in putting it all back together there is a reprogramming that needs to be done that can only be done by a dealer .... hummmmm ... interesting. I even found a mechanic that had made a video and he also said it should take less than an hour. So, now I'm gonna take off work, go to where my car stopped and see if it runs. I do know one thing for sure, they can do the work but ... proceed with caution. Don't leave them there alone. read more

Technician Chris Brown arrived in a timely manner. He ran a diagnostic on my car due to loud noises under the hood. He informed me that I needed a new water pump, and thoroughly explained what was wrong with the water pump, what was needed to fix it in terms I could understand. He came back the following day as scheduled, and fixed the problem in less than 2 hours.
