I was just getting off the Amtrak train after a very long trip from Atlanta to Wilmington DE. My bestie suggested we eat here because it was one of her favorites in the area. As we entered I realized I missed living in the North. North America is known for diners, pubs and sports bars. We went here the perfect time in the evening as the sun was setting. We were seated in a nice booth that had some good privacy. We also could look out the window at the pond adjacent to the property. Beautiful atmosphere. The server quickly came to take our drink amd appetizer orders. I do not remember the name of the drink it was so good I slurped it down. We ordered some wings, crispy and a burger. I could immediately tell that the burger was handmade and not pre-made meat. It was so fresh and chargrilled. Loved it. Everything was good.

Exactly what you'd think of when asked to visualize a 3-star pub. The service is always good and food comes out quick. Every time that I've gone has been later at night when the DJ is blasting music and groups are gathered at the bar after hot boxing their car. But the food is decent and pretty filling.

I can't believe I'm only just discovering this bar and its delicious food after three years of coming to Dover to drop my son off at college. It's a great spot to relax, especially since they had a DJ on Saturday night. I ordered my meal to go but enjoyed a drink at the bar while I waited for my food. If I had known it was such a nice place to hang out, I would have dressed up for the evening. I tried the egg rolls, crab cake, and chicken Philly. While everything was tasty, my son and I were a bit underwhelmed by the crab cakes since we've had better. I'd rate the crab cakes a 7 out of 10, but the egg rolls were absolutely incredible--definitely a highlight! I'll definitely return when I'm back in May. Also, the service was not too bad.

I feel like I've been giving more bad reviews lately than good ones, which I hate as a glass half full kind of guy. McGlynn's was recommended by the young lady at the front desk of our hotel. The Good: Nice looking building with a view of the pond/lake. The Blackened Chicken Sandwich was a 4 out of 5. Cheap Beer prices. Even if they never brought the right typesordered. The Average: Tater Tot Nachos The Bad: The 3 bean chili was 1 out of 5. The waiter Joel C, nice young man but with no waitering skills, hoping he is new and will learn a lot. Did seem pleasant enough.

And by that I mean I dropped my girlfriend and her daughter at Firefly and I devoted my day to sampling foods and drinks around the town with my buddy. He said this is his spot for Sunday football so we popped in and checked out some appetizers. We decided to go with some fried pork potstickers and some "boom tots". The potstickers were crispy and delicious and came with a teriyaki sauce to dip them in. I personally felt they were great without the sauce and thought the sauce actually made them a bit too salty. The Boom tots were very good. They have a regular loaded tots dish and then this one, so we decided to go outside the box a bit. These had crumbled bacon, melted mozzarella, and the "boom boom sauce" on them which is basically most companies knock off of the bang bang shrimp sauce that (insert name of chain restaurant that I can't remember here) made famous. The rewards program/swirl card system seems like a good idea in theory. You give them your name and number and every so often you will get a 10.00 discount on your order and a free children's pizza on your birthday. But beware, if you have any kind of issue in their restaurant, even if it has nothing to do with the staff, they will use your participation in this program against you. They will give your name and number to the police and involve themselves in matters that should not concern them. I am nearly 40 and have never had any trouble with the law in my entire life until they meddled in my business; the context of which they knew nothing about. They will do this with no hesitation. When you confront them about this they will deny it. But no one else there knew my number but their computer system. To make matters worse they will then ban you from their restaurant. The servers are very two-faced, and the general manager John is one of the most heartless men I've ever met. I was a very loyal regular customer every Friday night for years. I had friends there I loved who I will never see again. That is the hardest part of all. No goodbyes, no second chances. They did it to me, please don't think it won't happen to you. I don't think a few ten dollar discounts here and there and a once a year baby sized pizza with no toppings are worth it. Proceed with caution. I cannot speak for the other locations, I only know they did this at grotto's Dover.

But instead of carrying on a conversation about how there's another server and maybe she will give our table to them. Okay maybe not. Okay how about I just order your drinks. maybe. Just don't do that. First it was. The wings are ready but we're waiting on the chicken sandwich. So of course the wings come out looking like they sat under a warmer for awhile. Whatever. The fries didn't come out with my husbands wings but did come out with my sandwich. and she told us it would be another 10 min for fries. Ok. She must have stopped at our table three times while waiting. To give us another update on the fries. Then My husband asked for a tea. While he was eating his blazin wings. His drinks were both empty. She said ok. Goes to another table. Chats and gets a drink order. Heads to beverage station. Gets the other tables drinks. Comes back and says sorry the tea is out. Then wanted to talk about other drink options. He's still eating blazing wings with no water or drink. He asks for a Pepsi. She says she has that and explains how sorry she is that there is no tea left and finally heads back to get Pepsi. Right behind her is the guy carrying a tea pitcher. Lol. She comes back with a Pepsi. He's done with his food at this point. I feel like. There are only a few things that are a must in a wing joint. Make sure the person eating always has a beverage. Also shouldn't everyone know how to make tea? It was 4pm on a Thursday at this point. We know they will need more tea today.

Located on the corner of a small strip mall offset by the Wawa, bank & Walgreens. It features live music, karaoke and sports on 7 TV's. My husband got the cowboy sirloin which was a good quality cut and cooked as requested. It came with onion rings and choice of two sides. He had a bourbon & club ($10) for a beverage. I had the French onion soup which was decent but a hunk of French bread was overwhelming in it. Got the loaded potato skins. They were decent perhaps a bit overdone but not a deal breaker. I'm sure they are from a food service. For dessert we got the overloaded brownie & ice cream. That too was decent. Food overall was good. There's 16 tables, some high tops and bar seating as well. The place started to fill after 6pm. Sadie was our server. She ran the bar and along with one other waited tables. She was a no nonsense professional, albeit pleasant. My husband left her a $20 tip on a $59 bill. My husband would definitely eat here again. I like a nicer ambiance with my meal. But like I have said not a deal breaker!

There is a pinball machine (featuring Harley Davidson backbox), several other electronic games, one of which has a customized "joke" seat (toilet seat nailed to a wooden captains chair, along with a handy roll and dispenser on the back.
