Lol I ate it all without hesitation*** With that being said; it just means that I will have to go back,at some point in my travels, and stuff my face again. This time I will take pics first lol Ok now the review. Let's be honest here, there are most certainly not that many places in Dover to get some decent food. Take it how you want, I have visited a few times and spent some decent time there. If a place for some good food and drink is what you seek then seek no further. Quick rate Food: 5 of 5 Decor: 5 of 5 Service: 4 of 5 The food was pretty damn good. The appetizers we're dang good. Had some of the fried brussel sprouts as well as the Eastern Shore Pretzel. Both were amazing but I have got to hand it to them for that crab dip! Good lawd! It was rich and creamy.. Soo rich I needed another beer... Still amazing. I miss it :( I also had the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich and someone else had the Jumbo Lump Crab Bombs. I enjoyed it all. I was stealing off plates like a significant other, good thing my friends love me because I would have stabbed myself in the hand with a fork. The thing I'm really sad about is that I wasn't made aware of the AYCE peel and eat shrimp... Don't worry i won't forget next time. I did however take care of business with the all you can eat wings. They were ok... I'm going to need the chef or whoever to step the hot wings up because I could feed those things to my 11 year old daughter .. I need fire! The beer selection is crazy amazing! I fell in love with "sliding in the DM". Yes it's real. The brewery for this has the best names ever. Might have to drive to philly and then take a keg home or something lol. The service is a little hit or miss, if they get busy you might not see your waitress for a min. Which can lead to thirst lol You really should try this place if you are passing through or if you just moved to Dover. Went for lunch for daughter's birthday and the food was delicious. They seemed understaffed, however, and the waitress we had was nowhere to be found once the food was brought out. She wasn't at all friendly, either, and we could barely hear her when she deigned to speak to us at all. The bartender and food runner were super nice and friendly, however. And clearly the cooking staff is great. read more

My first time visiting this Pub and being in the area. I normally not a Pub type person and normally don't like them. Most of the time the food is just ok and the reason to be there is social experience and drinking. Which is true about this Pub as well. I went after work so my experience could be different if it was a weekend or later in the evening. However the food was ok and I was sitting at the bar and my drink was finished while I was eating and the service was a little slow on asking for a refills. I finished my whole meal with not being asked with two people behind the bar and about 12 people at the bar at the time. So this is why I only gave this review 3 stars. But everything else was great the servers was polite and nice. read more

McGlynns Pub was a go to for my family when I am in Delaware. Our latest visit was a disaster. We were a party of 7 and our waitress was obviously new. We asked some questions about the beer selection. We waited over 30 minutes for her to return. I went to the hostess station twice to ask for a different server, or at least offer her some help, nothing was done. Two of the three mixed cocktails were undrinkable. Other tables sat and were eating their meals before we got our drinks. Things happen, it's how you respond poor management decisions will keep me away from Mcglynns. read more

My boyfriend and I are staying here for nice mill and we didn't know that we weren't supposed to seat ourselves so they were kind of upset about that and rude and then they didn't even serve us after we sat there we were sitting here for like 15 minutes and they served two other people who came in after us so we just left I would not recommend coming to McGlynns they are very funny acting disrespectful people and rude!!! read more

I went with my husband today for lunch at 1:30. which is Valentines Day. We went for the atmosphere and hoped the music would be better. There was a lot of dance music which isn't conducive to eating with. Our server was fair. It wasn't very busy. She barely acknowledged us. She was taking our order and hadn't finished it and asked an employee to do something in the middle of our order. The food was also fair. Our burgers were not well done like we requested but it took awhile for her to ask if everything is okay and it was too late to tell her. read more

Good pub feel with good pub food. Nice bar with a good selection of craft beer. I had the corn crab soup. On man it was good. Nice chunks of crab and veggies. For dinner I had the prime rib, medium rare. When it arrived it was covered with a sauce/drippings. It had a good flavor and was seasoned well. The cut was very tender as well a generous. There was a a chunk of fat and tendon that I could not eat, but no more than. I would get it again. Parking is tight and it was raining when we left and we did get soaked. read more

Service was very good,nice view of the water. Had the Thursday special which was all you can eat steam or cold shrimp with freshly made potato chips !!! Very good. I had 3 plates of shrimp and they were very nice size and had a great flavor from the seasoning !!! My wife had the Pub burger. The burger was a very nice size and meat was very tender for a burger to be that good they must use a very nice quality of chop meat !! Would definitely go back. read more

My wife and I are Burger fanatics. When we moved to Delaware it became a quest to find a place that serves a good hamburger. We used Yelp ANC tried the highest rated places and for the most part we were disappointed and then we tried McGlynn's. High quality ingredients, seasoned and cooked well and reasonably priced. When we want a good burger this is where we go. Our daughter is an incoming freshman at Delaware State. We'll be spending a nice amount of time here over the next 4 years. When I'm in a city away from home, I try to stay away from chain restaurants so I can try the local flavor. The first night here, my daughter and I were hungry so we looked on Google and stumbled upon this place not far from her campus. The food was EXCELLENT! It was Tuesday so half priced burgers which were WONDERFUL! I had the breakfast type burger with a fried egg, bacon, and cheese. My daughter had the burger with basically everything but the kitchen sink on it. She enjoyed hers as well. I had the fried brussel sprouts. They were better than expected and not bitter at all as brussel sprouts can be. I enjoyed our meal so much, I brought my husband back the next night. All you can eat chicken wings! I had the Asian Sesame ones and baked ones with blue cheese. My husband tried the buffalo and BBQ ones. All were really good! No issues that I wanted my orders to be only flats! We had the same waitress both nights - Carli. She was GREAT! Very attentive and intuitive! What you want in a waitress! If they continue this level of quality and service, we'll be back for years to come! read more

Thought we would try this restaurant and was disappointed with service and cleanliness. My husband ordered a drink on the rocks mentioning rocks twice and received it in a martini glass. Waitress corrected but then when he ordered fish and chips asking for malt vinegar which he never received. There were dead bugs on the window sill. View of Silver Lake in Dover was the nicest part of our visit. We thought to give a second chance ordered crab and not only dry but disappointing for $30. They looked like something out of a box. Absolute horrible food and service. I had to get my own drink from the bar and remind the waitress to check on it after 20 mins. It took 1:30 to receive food and it only had 4 table occupied. I ordered fish tacos which were way over salted. So much so I couldn't eat it. My son ordered cheese sticks and they were so greasy he couldn't eat them either. Don't waste your money and time. I've eaten then 3 time since it opened over the last few years, only to get a drink at the bar but once to eat and it was the same result but I thought I'd give it another shot but I won't make that mistake agin and you should either unless you just like wasting money and have an affinity for bad dining experiences. read more

This was a terrible experience. My father, sister, and I went for Sunday lunch. The hostess told us she was preparing our table, then didn't return for 15 minutes. When we were finally seated, all of our silverware had food on it from improper washing. Then, once we received our drinks, there were tiny specks of dirt, perhaps from dirty ice or the soda machine. A great experience for lunch. Really beautiful inside with a nice lakeside view. Diverse menu options, good specials, attentive service. Our beef sandwich with French onion dipping juice was wonderful! The clam chowder was bland. A pretty noisy place. Parking was available but the lot isn't enough for a full house. Go there at an Off-peak time and parking won't be an issue. Overall, we were satisfied and will return. read more

We stopped in for lunch. This has become a spot I like to hit when I am in town. I haven't been here in the evening or for dinner yet. I had the New England Clam Chowder as my appetizer, pretty good! I had the Crab Cake platter for my main course, not a ton of filler in their cakes. Dessert was the Chocolate Molten Lava Bundt Cake, if you like chocolate cake, try this! A scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream is added, I'm hooked! The wait staff is friendly, prompt and attentive! It looks like this building also has several rooms, on the second and third floors from what I noticed, I would say McGlynn's can handle parties and wedding receptions as well. read more

Good local restaurant. Friendly atmosphere with good food. I am told that they have the best steak in town. I cannot say as I do not eat steak (but hubby really loves steak at this restaurant). I like the burgers, the sandwiches and appetizers. They have great French onion soup (best in town). Happy hour is really good as they have great specials & really great free finger food during these hours. Brunch on Sunday is nice with make your own Bloody Mary drinks. They have over 20 different varieties of these Bloody Mary drinks. Really good restaurant for a good meal and a nice drink. Giving 3 stars as the restaurant is good, but not great. I went for the first time for dinner on a week night so I didn't really go when it was busy or filled with big drinkers. Our waiter was the best waiter I have ever had. Just totally attentive and made suggestions as we weren't sure what to have We had clam chowder, chicken Caesar salad, quesadilla and salted caramel cake. It was a wonderful experience. A little pricey for what we had it can to almost fifty bucks but we also had coffee a soda and a margerita. I had been there before years ago for a happy hour which I didn't enjoy it was just too loud for me. But maybe some people like that. The quieter dinner was more my style. We will be back. read more

The were good, but far from "hot off the grill." It is best to go to this place under the cover of darkness, so you can't see the filth. It reflects of management that does not care. Came to Delaware with my boyfriend while he is on business and we're staying at the Marriott hotel walking distance from the pub, which was great and convenient for staying at the Marriott. The pub was about 10 mins walking distance, not too far at all. This place is 21 and older as it is a pub. It had good music and TVs everywhere, and located right on this cute little pond/lake. I ordered French onion soup and turkey Dijon sandwhich on a pretzel roll which were both delicious ! The staff was friendly and attentive. I would defiantly recommend coming here for lunch or even dinner. They have great drinks specials all day long as well! read more
