Went to McGrath's for dinner. Looks like it got an update. Last time I went it was an Irish pub style and Irish food menu but now it's different. I like the new menu options. On Wednesday's they have a two meal day for $30 which includes two dinners and a soup or salad per person. I had the lemon butter chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious! Very flavorful! My husband had the chicken parm. It was a large portion and tasty. Not quite authentic Italian but still good. Our friend had the shirt rib grilled cheese and the tomato soup. Also delicious! Next time I am interested in trying the chicken rice bowl. read more

Stopped in McGrath's for an early dinner and had a great experience from start to finish. We were seated promptly, and our server was quick to take our drink orders, providing attentive and friendly service throughout the meal. I ordered their triple-patty smashed burger, which was seasoned perfectly, with melted cheese oozing over each juicy layer--a truly delicious burger. To balance it out, I also had the maple pecan house salad, a fresh mix of lettuce, candied pecans, cranberries, goat cheese, and crisp Granny Smith apples, all tossed in a flavorful maple vinaigrette. I've always enjoyed the food here and was sad to hear that it's closing and going under new ownership on 6/1/25. It's currently owned by the folks at Ed's and I actually enjoyed the food there better. Service was always great and hostess always greeted upon arrival. It seems like they had a bit of an identity crisis since taking over from McAllister's, and from what I understand, being your more as an Irish pub. Personally, I never saw a problem in it, nor did I ever have a bad experience under the name, McGrath, especially with their food. It will be interesting to see the concept that comes in and what they will offer their patrons, but I will be optimistic that they could do as good a job or better than McGrath's. read more

I used to come here off and on. I wrote a review not to long ago after I realized they changed ownership. The review I gave was ok, and since my last review I've visited here 2 more times and now I feel I can give a more accurate review. I can say with confidence that the quality of food and cleanliness has changed. The hostesses were ok, our waitress was nice and that's where it ends. We were welcomed once again with dirty silverware, not sure what is happening in the kitchen, because this was the second visit since my last review and a repeat with the silverware, and truthfully no lie the second set she brought me was not much better. We ordered the grilled cheese and rice as a side, and the Friday fish fry. Let's start with the grilled cheese, it was by far the driest grilled cheese I've ever had! I had to add ketchup and boy I am not a big fan of ketchup on a sandwich. If you look up how to make a grilled cheese it always recommends buttering both sides of the bread then grilling. The side of rice was underwhelming and dry. The fish was ok, but if you are really hungry I would suggest ordering a side not the largest portion. The time before this visit I got the sandwich with braised beef and was not as good and I will leave it at that. Overall I feel I could say with confidence now that the food coming out of the kitchen now has gone down since the old days, cleanliness is completely down and that alone will make me hesitate before eating here again. Came in with my family on a Tuesday night. It was trivia night but we opted not to play so we were seated to the right of the bar where we could converse & catch up. Not a very lively crowd or atmosphere as with some game nights. Food was good & they have a cute "neighborhood" drink menu. I tried the Mallory Park Mellocello. It was ok. Not too lemony or strong for a drink with Lemoncello. I'd like to come back & try some others. The French dip was good but what I really loved was the 1994 Salad! Yes I know salads are boring but it really is tasty & I would come back again to order that. I'd like to give this place another try, maybe on a weekend when there is more of an atmosphere. Probably the beginning of the end for McGraths. Used to come here regularly, between the happy hours, burger specials and lively atmosphere I used to love it. Came here tonight and got sat relatively quickly. Waited as three different servers came by without saying a word. Waited another 15 minutes, same thing. Several more servers walked by without saying a word. Set a timer. Just to see if we would ever be asked what we wanted. Nothing. Mind you the menus were on the table and it was abundantly clear we were trying to get their attention. The restaurant probably had 10 groups at tables total. Most of which were wrapping up by the time we got there. A real shame as we likely won't be returning. read more

Not your typical Irish pub. Food was good and while it had a few items you'd expect to see at an Irish Pub, most seemed more American style. Service was good and it was a comforting atmosphere. I believe they are definitely underrated here on yelp. The grouper sandwich was huge! Way bigger than expected. The smash burger was fresh and delicious as well. What a great evening! Got here for happy hour, which is a really good one and decided to try a few fun things. Had the Boxty bites to start, which were amazing! And then followed it up with the McGrath's Smoked Old Fashioned. I'll try to post the video, but basically it's an old-fashioned in a box being smoked by an Irish pinecone. What!?!? Never had anything like this. Even having had smoked old-fashioned before... Never like this. The rest of our food was great! I had the bang, bang, chicken, with some fries. Yum! Definitely worth coming to. Wait staff was amazing! Hat tip to Karli! *** On top of all this... It started raining when we are getting ready to leave. My mom is 86 and has a lot of difficulty walking. Uses a walker. It started raining HARD right when we were about to go outside. We waited a few minutes, but it didn't let up. Of course, we didn't have our umbrella. While I was opening the car door and trying to find something to shield us from the rain, the owner pulled up to drop something off, and wound up going to his own car and getting his umbrella and helping us out. Ideal interior for small or big groups. Outside seating is especially attractive. The Cuban Mojo bowl was spectacular. The slow cooked pork fell apart with a fork. The black beans were especially flavorful and it was a perfect combination with the sweet plantains and the vinegar sautéed onions. Frankly, the white rice was a little disappointing, but the whole combination was a real flavorful delight. Great service We stopped in for an early dinner. I think they have been open for about a year in the old MacAllisters Grill & Tavern spot, and this was my first visit. It's a large place, nice look, and not busy when we arrived. They play Irish music so even though it was not busy, it was also not quiet. The menu offers several Irish and European dishes I would have loved to try, from Shepherds Pie to Corned Beef & Cabbage to Herefordshire Steak. I love corned beef. In the end my decision was their McGrath's Irish Beef Stew, listed as a family favorite and it is now a favorite of mine too. It was a nice basic stew with several chunks of beef, some veggies and potatoes, all slow cooked in an Irish broth. The broth is not a gravy, it is thinner and carried a lot of flavor. The entrée came with a couple of thin slices of salty Irish soda bread. We had great service from start to finish, accommodating, friendly, and relatively quick. read more

McGrath's will ROCK your Socks Off! The servers at McGrath's have always been prompt, kind, and helpful. The food has always been delicious. We love trying their specials - I LOVED the carbonara and the lobster risotto. My boyfriend always loves their burgers, which are on special on Smashburger Thursdays. Their Shepherd's pie is my usual go-to, but for happy hour I love the Boxty. You cannot beat the service coupled with the atmosphere and prices. The manager (I need to get his name!) always says hi to us when we come, and told us about the monthly Whiskey Dinners. We went to one earlier this year and had a BLAST. We received a pre-fixe 4 course dinner that was accompanied by a whiskey for each course. They accommodated me with wine pairings instead since I didn't want whiskey. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was perfectly paced, the whiskey education was informative, and the way they separated the whiskey dinner from the rest of the restaurant made us feel very exclusive. The price was extremely reasonable for the wonderful service we received. They also offer a cigar hour outside after the dinner for a reasonable extra fee. Overall, I'm just happy I have such a wonderful and authentic Irish Pub near me with a manager and servers that emphasize great food and great service. read more

We've been in McGrath's several times now. They have a nice selection of food, a full bar and some nice beers on tap. Both the inside and outside seating is comfortable. The bar area inside is especially nice. Service was OK; this last time was a Saturday evening and they kept up pretty well, just a few periods of waiting for service. While the food is good, it does seem heavily salted - hey Chef, ease up on the salt, please! Overall it's a comfortable casual place that's fun to get a bite at. read more

This Irish Pub was really nice. The fish & chips came with a side of guacamole and coleslaw which was different and a good surprise. It was early so happy hour draft brews including one of my favorites Stella were half price caching Yes! The place was spotless including the restroom. Place has a new owner and it's not a good development for this spot. There was a pretty long wait and then once we sat we had no idea who our waiter was for about 20 minutes. Then we asked who our server was and they told us they didn't know. Finally We ordered some appetizers .. they gave us these tiny little plates you could barely eat off of .. and when we asked for a serving spoon for one of our salads and they gave us a fork and knife wrapped in a napkin. I ordered blackened salmon .. came out grilled .. one burger they absolutely refused to do the Guinness sauce on the side? Said it was too complicated to do on "burger night". Date night here was so much fun! The day prior to St Patrick's so there was a lively atmosphere and lots of laughing, having a good time. Our waiter was awesome, consistently checking on us and refilling our beverages. She let us know what what popular to eat on the menu and she was just all around very helpful. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and it was so good! They use rib-eye and it was tender juicy as well as flavorful! We also shared a appetizer of gravy fries with cheese curds and that was delicious! My husband got the chicken tenders and said they were soft juicy and crunchy! The honey mustard was delightful! We topped all of this off with a chocolate cake that was a favorite and very decadent! McGrath's has become a repeat restaurant for our household because you can often get a table without much of a wait. We loved the Irish Pub vibe and menu before it was recently changed. Recently went in for lunch and got the Ruben with fries, which were both very good. My husband got the burger, which really didn't have any flavor- reminded us of our high school cafeteria burgers. Definitely miss the old menu! Servers are always pretty attentive. Be aware this is also a bar, so it can get loud during games, on weekends, or when there is love music. read more

I've had many servings of fish 'n chips over the years (across the globe I might add) and I can honestly say that McGrath's has some of the best I've ever had. I stopped in here during a weekend and there was live music inside (bummer we were sitting outside). They also do live music on Friday nights too. Our waiter was super friendly. It was cold outside the day I was there and I was bitching and moaning - he was kind enough to move one of the outdoor heaters closer to us. Everything is fresh and very tasty. Beer is flowing and I believe they do flights as well. I would love to go in here during St. Patrick's day because I'm sure it's a lively scene. If you're wanting a chill pub vibe with good food and drinks, this is a great place to try out with some friends or family. read more

Hate to do this but honestly, underwhelming. The food was subpar. Came for the fish and chips and I have to agree with some other reviews .. absolutely tasteless. To be honest, the fish and chips is even better at Culver's (fast food). The ambiance was definitely not ideal for an older crowd. We were practically screaming across the table trying to communicate with each other before finally giving up. Unfortunately, we won't be back. Servers were nice though, hence the 2 stars. read more

We have been here so many times but today was ridiculous and simply rude and inconsiderate! We arrived close to 1pm on a Sunday and were seated by a hostess outside and no one was sitting out there and they weren't busy. After waiting 15 minutes my husband walked in to ask the hostess if we were going to get a server and he was told "right away ". After another 5-10 minutes we went into the bar and got our drinks. A server never came to our table so we left. We walked down Main Street and got a nice meal. We're done with this place! read more

My family and I tried to go here for their Sunday brunch. We were barely greeted by a frazzled hostess who could barely form a sentence and seemed to have no idea what was going on. We sat down (mind you it was not that busy) and after about 15 Minutes we walked out. We were never greeted by any of the wait staff and none of them even made eye contact with us. The hostess did come over and ask if we had had any one come and greet us. We replied no and then told us "sorry They just got a lot of tables all at once". A lot of tables was minimum 10 that I can recall from memory and we saw at least 4 waiters/waitresses at any given moment. I'm all for waiting, I get being busy but for no one to greet you is pretty bad. I wish I could review the food as I was looking forward to it but most likely won't be returning. read more

This was our 2nd visit and, 2nd disappointment. I don't know how restaurant's assign their tables.I would assume this is done at the start of their shift. Yet we had to ask twice for a waitperson. It was a simple food order, it came out cold and the order was wrong. I had a incredibly greasy BLT. It was gross. My hand was dripping grease. The other panini was under cooked, also cold & greasy. I work too hard to spend my money for lousy food. I won't be back. read more

There was a group of us (28) that went here for lunch on 3/15/24. The majority said the food was just okay. Myself, I ordered their Pub BLT and egg, with fries. Well, the bacon was dripping with grease and the egg yolks were not hard so they ran all over the sandwich making a very messy eating experience. The fries were mushy not crisp. Only two waitstaff, but they did a good job. Would I go there again, have to think about that. read more
