Why did this place absolutely blow us away?? We came because we were hungry but didn't want to go to a chain but we didn't want a whole meal so we figured we'd just get a snack here. We walked in and there were some older people eating, some families, the whole place is so unassuming and home-like, in a way that wasn't very inspiring or promising. We got the Mediterranean salad and a side of fries. Sort of a whatever order. How good could it be? Absolutely incredible. I bit into the chicken breast expecting dry, unseasoned rubber. Wrong. Beautiful, warm, fresh, tender, juicy, delicious chicken. The rest of the salad was also so, so great. And the dressing! Pink! Homemade! I need a gallon! Ya know, this place is just great. If you are from the north, this is, or can be, one of your favorite Greek diners. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and offered to sit wherever we like. The place was not too busy, but it was clean and the noise level was great for conversation. The server came over immediately and got our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to decide on many items. We ordered the tuna salad/fruit plate, as well as the Greek salad with Gyro meat and of course, a side of their delicious fries. We received the food within 10 minutes and the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold! The plates were piled high with their delicious food and our meal was enjoyably devoured. If you are looking for a great place for great food at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. I have been here before and they are extremely consistent every time I have been there. My friend and I vacationed in this beautiful area. On my friend's last day, we were looking for a good place that is close to our hotel because he was to drop me off there before he left for home. We found it! No wonder this place is so popular and busy. Not only is there delicious food at a fair price, but true southern hospitality. The young host, our server, and the cashier could not have been more friendly. I had a patty melt with french fries and a bowl of the soup of the day, cabbage. On a Sunday morning for brunch this place was packed! We had a short wait for our table and our meals came out fast despite being super busy. I had one of the omelette's with a side of fruit and it was really good! It wasn't anything extraordinary or unique, but it was a solid, fresh tasting omelette with onions, green peppers, and ham. They allowed me to get extra fruit for my side since they don't have gluten free bread. That was a little bit of a bummer but at least now I know. Friends of ours brought us here...pleasantly surprised because I probably would bypass it otherwise. There's no outdoor seating and the inside is pretty nondescript, but they are cranking out good food so the customers seem to flock to it. Win win for everyone! read more

I have been to this place often, although I think I won't go anymore. I am astounded by the lack of service and the lack of caring. They have a large staff, but most often, they are just standing around talking instead of refilling coffee or water, or acting like they actually care about their customers. The food is wildly inconsistent. Some days it is delicious. Other days, order the exact same thing and it will be burned. I mean you can smell and taste and see the burn - it's not subtle. Yet, still the cook sends it out with no embarrassment or concern that he's sent out a burned meal. Toast is black, eggs are burnt-brown. Then the waitress serves it with no concern or embarrassment that she's serving a horribly cooked meal. This happens way too often. Probably 50% of the time the meals are great, 50% they are horrible. Most concerning is that no one cares! This restaurant needs quality control more than almost any other place I can think of. read more

Served hot in a warm pita, stuffed full of scrumptious gyro (lamb) meat, topped with homemade tzatziki sauce and a side of steak fries. Their Mediterranean salad is also a great lunch option (served with seasoned grilled chicken). * Side note: As other reviewers have mentioned, the place stays busy-- especially the front counter. I have never had an issue calling to place a takeout order. Food is ready in 10-15 minutes. Yes, you may have to wait in line behind folks paying their tabs, but the service is always friendly & efficient. * Covid considerations: There are usually about 3-4 servers working the daytime shift, only 1 wears a mask. Fast and friendly I like Honey Tree Café, it is a fairly large place with a comfortable feel. The two servers over where I was sitting were friendly and human, by which I mean not order taking robots. I enjoyed the smiling interactions with my server. For breakfast I ordered their The Lagrande, a big breakfast of 3 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, and toast. While no individual item stood out as amazing, in total this was a great deal of very good food, it took up two plates. In my last review I noted how fast my food arrived, and it happened again. I'm talking under 4 minutes for all that food. I mentioned that to my server and learned it wasn't a fluke, the kitchen is quick. My only complaint? I have been here a couple of times. The food is always good as well as the wait staff is friendly. Just left there and the young host and hostess need training on customer service. No one said hi when we walked in. They just sat there and looked at us. So awkward. Then when I paid, the young girl didn't smile, say hi, or ask us how everything was. Awkward again... no thank you for coming in or anything. The awkwardness alone will make me stop coming in. read more

Ordering for carry out is a nightmare. The same person that takes your order is also the Hostess , Food Runner and Cashier so you have that ONE person doing four different jobs and not doing either one of them very good. Waited for close to 10 min's today Sunday 11/7 to place an order. I could hear her ringing customer after customer up on the register. I just gave up and hung up. Apparently they don't need my money. It's also very apparent that they are ill equipped to handle carry out or don't care. After the hang up I called METRO DINER. They answered right away and took my order because they have people that just do CARRY OUT ORDERS and get them right unlike Honey Tree who gave my order to another customer one time and made the wrong food another time. Don't waste your time just call Metro Diner at least they will talk to you. read more
