Don't review often, especially "bad" reviews. Sometimes "bad" service is a "power struggle" ie: "put a client in place". Not this client, offended? #scrollby
Review Caveat - I love Dr. Craig @ Preston Vet; reasonable pricing; he's in it for the pets, you decide:
I hired a trainer for my pup, the trainer also owns a doggie daycare. This trainer required that my pup have the influenza vax & all vet records but, they must not be written by hand, this rule also applies for the Town of Ledyard license registration, by the way.
I "thought" no worries & call the "receptionist" @ the Preston Animal "Hospital". I am told immediately & abruptly, **"we don't type up the records & we don't give the influenza vax."
My response "ok you don't give the vax; so how do I get the vaccine?" response on phone & again when I visited for my pups annual shots "we don't know; we don't give it". NOT helpful. But ok fine. My 2nd response, what do I do about the records I need typed up, receptionist response "tell them to call us, that is what the Town of Ledyard has to do for licenses & they don't like it either." Then out of the blue 2 days later, I get a message to pick up "typed" records, this was last week of May???
June 20th, Time for pups annual shot visit; go for visit & again, get told they cannot give the influenza shot & have no suggestion where I can get it done. Caveat: I understand why they do not give it (cost vs. expiration), but no suggestion as to where I can get it done??? As I am leaving I "forgot" I needed the records typed not handwritten. UGH, so I send the "handwritten" in & I hear back "we need them in writing" response, just like the town insists on So again I need to call the "receptionist" & I get the same exact **response as the 1sttime. My response "but you typed them up last time". The extremely rude & again abrupt REPEATED responses, each of the below was emphasized at least 3x; all while talking over me:
"we don't do that"; "my computer doesn't talk nice to the printer"; "I'll have to ask the other receptionist when she comes in"; & "You can't have them today"
My response: more than once I had to insist "I never asked for them today" & "why do you guys not type them" & then BAM, the "receptionist" slams the phone down on me. Thursday July 13.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the exact same day; I am emailed my pups full records typed up by the "receptionist"??? In 2023, I don't look forward to arguing consistently with my vet, just to receive expected & not out of the ordinary service, especially when it is easily remedied AFTER the "receptionist" has had her chance to berate me. Apologies to Dr. Craig as I believe he honestly assisted in saving my 12 year old princess from dying of chemical poisoning last summer. I was so pleased, I donated extra to the "receptionist" (yes the same one) dog charity she runs. IMO this receptionist is overworked; needs more customer service training; BUT definitely should not be a business "owner" herself until then! If you have read this far, any recommendations read more
