I hired them to redesign my living room and primary suite and they nailed the brief completely. The principal designer was thoughtful about blending my existing pieces with new ones rather than insisting on a complete overhaul, which I appreciated. Fabric and finish selections were exceptional -- every material felt luxurious and cohesive. The project timeline was honored and communication throughout was professional and responsive. McKee & Company is a beautiful store. The team there are super friendly and very professional. They have a great selection and if you are wanting to spend a significant amount of money or have a very high budget their design services would be a great choice. For me the 3 stars comes from a few misleading things during my experience with them. 1) They told me one of the benefits of working with their team was that the furniture and products were 30-40% off retail price + paying the hourly for design service. This is not the case. When working with designers in the past it was very clear that you were receiving discounts (at least 20%). With McKee & Co, it seems they are definitely marking up their items. On my "purchase list" there were 3 items that were MUCH HIGHER Then even the regular retail sites online. Its unbelievably frustrating to be shown a bar stool for $875 that you can buy for $675 on LuLu & Georgia. This happened multiple times, and created immediate distrust that couldn't be repaired. 2) When I pointed out the 3 items that had higher prices on their sheet than online, I was met with no apologies or explanations. Just that they could potentially match the full priced items that were less elsewhere. I don't know how I Was supposed to just swallow that without even addressing it. It again, led me to believe that their prices weren't based on the market and I was getting taken advantage of by not doing my own research. 3) They offer a no refunds or exchanges policy. If you don't like the item or it doesn't work with the decor - too bad. For this price, most design studios will offer you to try an item in your home and if it doesn't work, figure out how to exchange. Especially given you are signing a design contract with them. Overall, they are very nice and have beautiful items, but I wouldn't use the design services unless you don't mind paying the same or higher then online retail. The designer never even followed up with me after I purchased the artwork to see if it fit. She just said it was non - refundable. read more

I stumbled across this store after visiting another store in this plaza. I loved it. I was greeted warmly upon entering the store but not at all in a pushy manner-just nice and relaxed. The items in the store are nothing short of exquisite, ranging from furniture to accessories. This has a very upscale Pottery Barn feel to it but more unique and less mass produced. They have wonderful coffee table books that caught my eye. I am on a coffee book buying kick. They have some amazing home scents. I would highly recommend this store for anyone who likes unique vintage type furniture or cool home accessories. This store was sooooo my style! read more

I discovered this place after my cousin wanted me to try to see if I could get Bellocq tea for her. It's in the same plaza as sprinkles and Bristol farms. It's a really cute store with lots of unique interior decoration albeit it is quite pricey for some items. They were the nearest place that carried the teas. Yay! They had a variety of them. The small signature canisters and box sets with a variety of their teas. Love love love this tea company. I hope to one day go to the main one in NY one day. The sales lady was helpful and friendly and made us shop easier :) we ended up talking to her about teas for a while lol. Definitely a nice place to go to browse and to get these teas! I found that the now closed Dana Point location had more interesting items. Perhaps it was just larger? I used to go into it and browse, finding several things, furniture and knick-knack, that I wanted. At the Newport location, however, I find myself breezing through quickly and leaving easily. I wonder what changed. The staff has always been kind and helpful. And I will continue to walk in to see what's new. read more

When I first walked in this store, I thought "I want my house to look like this!" I ended up working with the owner Tracey McKee to help furnish and accessorize my house. She is not only the sweetest person I've worked with, but amazingly talented. She transformed our house and I LOVE everything. They have excellent quality and access to way beyond what is in the store. I also appreciated that even when I was suggesting replacing an item there were many times, when she would say to leave it because it fit well or fit within our current lifestyle...which I appreciated. We recently remodeled our home. When looking for a company to help furnish our new masterpiece, we turn to McKee & Company. They always have great pieces at good prices. The staff is great and they offer many different ways to help the customer decorate the perfect space. We feel that they have a wide range of styles to choose from. What's also great is they allow you to take the merchandise on memo so you could try it in your own personal space and determine whether or not it's a perfect fit.
