Review Update: Ten Years Later Upon hearing that the business is due for relocation, I paced myself into the showroom with one last glimmer of hope to recover the aforementioned blueprints. The staff took my request seriously and Ms. Ann Choi phoned me days later that they have indeed recovered the documented paper. Furthermore, MPD has issued an apology for the initial delivery and offered repairs without additional cost. A veteran craftsman by the name of Angel came into the house and patchworked the floor, wall frame and door dents with efficiency and precision. I was intriguingly surprised to find out the furniture that I originally purchased has appreciated over $100,000 in MSRP value in time. Nevertheless, I believe MPD has acted in a sincere and honest fashion. Honestly, everything is overpriced, which makes sense why they're going out of business. The way they marked up their prices during their out of business sales didn't even make sense because we had pieces we had bought prior at completely cheaper prices despite the 75% off. Doesn't make sense. If you really take the time, you can find this furniture elsewhere and realistically even on Wayfair, but aside from that, they have the absolute worst customer service when you're in-store purchasing something the manager is all smiles and happy but the second you come back with a concern or an issue of some sort they completely write you off and dismiss you and are very condescending. The manager's name is Ann and I've genuinely never had to deal with somebody who handles business the way that she does. Considering I spent almost 3K on a piece and now that piece is of no use to me, they wouldn't even entertain a conversation about finding a solution. read more

I love this place! Furniture shopping is confusing at times. Never knowing what the quality is or what to buy. I'm usually shy to ask questions because sales people usually are forceful but shopping at Marc Pridmore was very smooth and effortless. I'm amazed. The employees here are great. I walked in here in gym clothes and the first thing I got was offered water or Perrier then offered my choice of a tour or to browse at my leisure. I chose the latter and I was pleasantly surprised at what came next. Unlike most furniture stores where salespeople harp on you and are constantly lurking around the corner, MPD gave me just the right mix of space and assistance. I wasn't rushed to buy on my first or second or third visit. And I was given a courteous welcome whenever I arrived. MPD gave me a very comfortable and sincere vibe. My saleswoman was more knowledgeable than anyone at the other stores I've visited. I received options that were tailored to the prerequisites I gave her. I really gathered that she was paying attention and offering me options that fulfilled the specific needs I had. My husband and I have been residents of Orange County for over 20 years, this year our youngest child went away to college finally we are able to remodel and furnish our home like we've always dream of. We began by shopping the usual store with good reputations. We had a good idea of what we wanted and saw nice things and were treated pretty good. Having heard of Marc Pridmore Designs through one of the local magazines we stopped in to check them out over the weekend. WOW we were pleasantly surprised! This is it, this is exactly how we wanted our house to look. As much as we saw nice things in other stores,it began to all look cookie cutter. Marc Pridmore Designs was not, this store was beautiful, they really took the guest work out of putting a home together. The store was spacious , well light and extremely clean that could eat off the floors. We were greeted in a professional matter and were told about the stores background and what they had to offer. The designer that greeted us was not only professional but also made us feel comfortable immediately. At that point we began to go over what rooms we wanted to furnish and they began to give us some suggestions. That afternoon with their help we selected exactly what we wanted for all of our rooms. Another pleasant surprise is that we also selected drapery and mattresses too!!! All that i can tell you as my children would say is " This place was awesome!" This is an incredible furniture store. The owner is a great guy and staff is really friendly. Marc even drove all the way to LA to measure my space and make recommendations. This was especially important to me since I purchased a sectional from a different furniture store and when it arrived I realized that it was too small and the color wasn't as nice as I had hoped. And since it was a special order, I had no choice but to donate my new sectional. Marc then showed me the furniture at his store that he felt went well with my home. When the furniture was delivered, Marc was there with extra pieces and rugs just in case it works with my new furniture. I ended up purchasing everything he brought since it went so well with my new home. The prices were very reasonable and very competitive with my local furniture store that never offered to make a complementary visit to my home. Marc just completed installing the second home he has designed for us over the years. The first home he did for us a few years ago was traditional in design and Mediterranean architecture. We sold that home furnished and left with only our clothes which was a blessing because we ended up buying a more modern home and our old furniture would have never fit or matched. I was skeptical of hiring Marc for this modern home that we just finished because he did such a great job on the traditional home I was worried that the traditional style may be his specialty. Although the showroom is 42,000 sq ft, it wasn't overwhelming nor overly designed like other fine furniture stores. There's no end to the amazing pieces in the showroom ranging from sofas, chandlers, home accessories, draperies, rugs, and one of a kind paintings. If you're a guy, you'll unquestionably love the "man cave" and theater. This showroom is literally a one stop place to shop to turn your home into a virtual spread in Veranda or Better Homes & Garden. All the sales associates were super nice and knowledgeable of all the products in the showroom. Moreover, they didn't try to push me to buy anything that didn't suit my lifestyle or aesthetics. I was even offered a complimentary personalized in-home consultation with Marc to get a professional's perspective to enhance my home's interior. Visiting Marc Pridmore Designs was an inspiration for me to turning my home into the upmost potential meant for appreciating and living. My friend and I attended their launch party and got to check this place out. It is very beautiful with quality luxury items. It felt very old french style to me. It wasn't my style at all but there were some pieces that I really enjoyed. Among them, I really loved their grandfather clock, mirrors, a desk that had a globe print, and chandeliers. This store is one of the best out there. They have a wonderful assortment, a knowledgeable staff, and great delivery service. Although the outside looks intimidating, we were pleasantly surprised to find that there was more affordable stuff than the OUTRAGEOUSLY BEAUTIFUL things shown in the window. My parents were able to select a nice bed set priced to their budget and also a family room sofa set that was MADE IN USA. Priced well and still of a higher quality, we were very happy with what we got for how much we had to spend. The staff was knowledgeable and showed up many options (including those that were out of our price range). Nevertheless, we appreciated the democratic service and eventually found something that fit in our budget and also the sales manager knocked off a few hundred off the price to make my mom happy too. Overall, not pushy and fair. Lastly, the delivery service was great too. They showed up in the time frame given and assembled the bed set and brought in the sofa set pristine as we had seen it in the showroom. We like this showroom and being able to get the furniture right away. They have something for everyone, but don't expect shotty quality. Update from my previous post: I returned to MPD on August 31 to check out bed frames and mattresses for my master room. I had already shopped around a few other local places but had zero luck in finding anything remotely worth purchasing. I was again greeted by a gentleman named Zai and told him exactly what I was looking for. We looked around a few items and he would honestly tell me what may or may not work for my room. I appreciated the honesty. After about 30 minutes of looking, I came across a Marge Carson bed unit that features a pretty fancy and clean looking panel, along with matching night stands. It was love at first sight. I had no idea MPD also sells mattress, and Zai let me check out the mattress around the entire floor. They are kind of hidden but I made it clear I was over the shopping around for things and just wanted to buy everything in one stop. We eventually came across a Airloom mattress that had the perfect level of firmness for my comfort levels. Overall, the experience was A-class. I made the purchase and can't wait for the items to be delivered. Quick note about a few prior review regarding price. One last thing to mention: I see one or two people on here complaining about price... I guess unreasonable expectations like that get real when people get too used to shopping at crummy places like Ikea or Living Spaces. This place on the other hand is for the finer things in life. I recently purchased furnishings for my entire new house from Marc Pridmore. When I entered the showroom, I was greeted by Hao. I am so glad that I met him. He was, and still continues to be totally dedicated to assisting me in my purchases. I was spending hours and hours on line looking for just the right pieces. However, since meeting Hao, he has done ALL the work for me. He has great taste and design ideas. He also recommended that I should have Marc come out to my house to design the living room since it is such a large and important room of the house. Marc did come out to my home, look at my room and take measurements. We met a couple weeks later where he provided me with a great presentation with a few design options. My husband and I just recently remodeled our home, and were referred by a friend of ours that lives in the area about this place, and how "unique" and "high quality" their products and designs were. Last week we had decided to stop by to check out a few new things for our home. Our experience was far from everything we had heard about. First off we had walked in and were not greeted by anyone! You would think for the prices they were asking for they'd be able to at least greet us. As we were walking around until several minutes later a woman had asked if we were being helped. That same woman who was helping us didn't really want to give us her the time of day. She wasn't very much of a help at all. We had felt like we were constantly being rushed to buy something, like our time with her was not worth it to her if we weren't buying something immediately that day. In my opinion it was very unprofessional... AND THE SAGA CONTINUES... Later my husband had brought to my attention that they had the same sofa, rug, and coffee table that we had purchased about a year ago from different furniture store. I had taken pictures and compared their design and the picture of the furniture store I had previously bought them from design and they were completely identical! Even down to the same flowers on the coffee table! The only thing that wasn't identical was the price, each item was marked up 2 times the amount that I had purchased them for! Its honestly a wonder how this place even stays in business. Please reconsider taking your business somewhere else, other than Marc Pridmore Designs, I hate for anyone to experience what my husband and I had to go through. I again was given the time to be on my own with the occasional checking in to see if I had any questions. I appreciated the no pressure help. I returned a couple of weeks later to reconfirm my choices...still no pressure. I have been buying furniture for over 30 years in different states (East & West Coast, Midwest). I have bought at all different price points. In Southern California, there is simply nowhere else to shop other than Marc Pridmore if you like high quality, interesting, and tasteful pieces. The editorial work that Marc does when he buys is unparalleled. The sales assistance is fantastic - unpretentious, practical, thoughtful, and well-educated. Personally I don't like pushy salespeople and in the furniture business (where you really have to live with your decisions on a daily basis), it's important to deal with people who are more interested in your happiness and comfort than their commission. I also don't want my house to look like every other house in the area. That's what makes MP exceptional. If you're shopping for anything, or even just browsing (which they are very willing to accommodate as proven by my multiple trips there before I ever bought anything), I highly recommend Gus because he is seasoned, knowledgable, professional, kind, and straightforward. He also happens to have spectacular taste. I also highly recommend working with Nathan, who is refreshingly honest, thoughtful, pleasant, and accommodating. He is very good at helping you make a decision and will go the extra distance to move things around on the showroom floor (and look at pictures on your phone) to help you visualize your thoughts. Joe, who I believe is the Ops Manager, knows more about lamps than I do (seriously that's saying something). And Julie is willing to lend a hand even when it doesn't benefit her directly, behavior I never see at other furniture stores. Although the showroom is very fancy, the prices are appropriate for the quality and they are willing to be reasonable. I've purchased a couple of pieces at MP, and plan to return. If you're considering other options, I can say from experience that there is nothing else I'd recommend in Orange County. The other good stores (King's in Yorba Linda and the old one in Orange I can't recall the name of) are all now out of business. I used to shop at Von Hemert Interiors until I realized they were unethical even to loyal, repeat customers and that they will tell you anything they think you want to hear to make a sale. Several friends in the area have also had bad experiences at VH with their lack of honesty, so I would steer clear of them. Remember in the furniture business, once it's sold, it's yours. read more
