I just moved here from CA and needed to get my car inspected. I called in to see if I could come in on my lunch break since I work right down the street. The guy came out and greeted me as soon as I pulled up and took my car in right away. The whole process took less than 15 mins and he even put my NY plates and reg sticker on for me! Terrible person. Greedy, rude, and un considerate. Especially around the holidays. Very greasy, don't support this mans business. $330 for a tow just a few miles down the road. I was parked on the grass where many other people were parked. (there was no sign saying not to park there) and I'm not from the area. Asked if he could give me a little bit of a break, was very rude the way he replied "he should charge more for it being a holiday weekend" could have at-least said politely Sorry but no. 330 for 15-20 minutes of his day. He could have done a little break asked if he could lower it in any way. I understand there has to be money being made but $330 for not even a 5 minute drive, that's cold. They towed our BMW from an accident. at the scene Tony was rude and obnoxious. when I called owner Glen he was the same. I wanted my car out of there, both of them said to leave it there because it would be totaled. They were WRONG! I am thankful I did not listen to them I got my car out of there and it is being fixed. i would not recommend McKenzie's Motors to anyone. read more

Need I say more? Just look at the ratings. Do not go to this business. I went to this shop years ago to get my car inspection done. He forcefully put the shifter on reverse and broke the tranny and my truck would not reverse. I had a shouting match with him and he failed my inspection because it now would not shift to reverse. This is one of those places I'd give zero stars if yelp would allow. This place has been around since I was a kid. I never really heard good reviews, but when I noticed I needed my inspection to be done I thought I'd give them a try. Pulled up here when they opened Saturday morning. "Greeted" with a 'what do you want?' from a not so gentlemanly man. Informed him that I need a quick inspection. He replied with a very annoyed "today?!?!" Yes. "Well that's going to take more than a few hours." My car is fairly new and I never had to wait hours. I wanted to see if there was a better time to bring it back. And he replied "I can't help you!" As he was turning to walk away I asked if there was anything else nearby and he just replied "can't help you!!" As he walked away. Great nice meeting you too. Can't be a repeat customer if you were never one to begin with. Avoid this place! read more

McKenzie Motors helped me replace a radiator and a/c condenser in Dec. Also a headlight. In April the radiator was overheating, and my local Pep Boys said the radiator has a crack in the seam and might be because a faulty radiator was installed. Now it's May and my a/c isn't cooling. Didn't think to check it this past winter, because it's already cold. Could McKenzie Motors have installed a faulty a/c condenser as well? When I called multiple times to ask about any warranty information on the radiator, they said someone will get back to me, or let me ask my manager, or probably nothing is covered but let me ask. FIRE THEM FROM TOWING AT THE COMMONS!!! I had the unfortunate experience yesterday Sunday 11.25.18 to find myself in the middle of a dispute with the owner, the owner's wife and a family (dad, mom and college daughter) The daughter was being yelled at and asked to leave by the owner (at least that is what he said he was) because she was venting her frustration of having her car towed with my daughter. My daughter who was in the same predicament than the other young girl, they are both college students working part time at the Woodbury Commons Outlet and made the poor judgment of parking on the premises, violating the rules of employees having to park offsite during Black Friday weekend (which is going to be another yelp report!). Under the frustration of having to pay more than what they made after 12 long hours of work at the commons, $150 for getting their cars towed, and us as parents having to come rescue them and recover their cars, the owner took it upon himself to be offended by the girls venting with each other, not to the owner, their frustration. There was a young male attendant who was very understanding and was simply trying attend them and help them get their cars out before the owner and his said wife walked in, witnessed the owner be rude, yell and belligerent to the girls and became very nervous, even stating to the owner that they were not speaking to him. The owner's wife, to add, was also yelling and insulting the young lady with her parents. The dad trying to calm everyone down seemed in turmoil and nervous. The situation grew hostile all due to the behavior of the owner and his wife, who experienced at towing people's car, and thereby familiar with the possible angry reaction of someone who just got their vehicle towed, only escalated the situation and even called the police! I wonder if he had done this if the family were not Black. By this time my daughter had already acquired her car and we were able to drive away right when the police got there. I hope it turned out ok for the family who were only trying to get their daughter's vehicle and had to be subjected to this inconsiderate, rude and hostile couple. McKenzie Motors towing services should be terminated by the Commons at the fact that they lack customer service skills. They were offensive, hostile and insulting to the point she insulted the girls when they said they were college students, the wife answered, "Does that make you smarter?" Really, dummy this is what you understood? They meant they were financially limited individuals trying to get an education and working to get themselves through college, and now had to fork out $150. She replied by saying, "wow, college students and working at the commons"? She happened to be the owner's wife and working at the commons, so who's outlook is looking pitiful, the college students trying to get an education or the owner's wife who has to work at the common's even when married to a towing company business owner? read more

I have had my vehicles serviced by McKenzie's for quite a number of years. In recent years my Dodge pickup has been my work truck and always seems to need some kind of repair immediately prior to a work project. It's not unusual for me to plead my case for a speedy repair so I won't have to rent a truck and the guys at McKenzie's will get the job done in timely fashion. How many times has your mechanic broken your heart and wallet in one swift move. Not at McKenzie's, they are diligent, stand behind their work and when my exhaust decided to pack it today at 12:30pm... I got the call that it was repaired at 1:50pm, that's an hour & twenty minutes.. New exhaust. Keep your Midas Touch & Mr Good Wrench. I've got McKenzie's. !! read more

I am an employee at Woodbury commons, on my day off i had come to the commons to shop. When i went to get back in my car i had realized i got my car towed by this rude ass man (employees are suppose to park in certain spots WHILE THEY ARE WORKING. Not on their days off ). When i went to go pick up you car at 5:30 ... the shop was closed, mind you his business hours says it's open till 6:30. I had to wait till the next day to get my car. When paying for my car he told me they don't accept card, even though he had a card machine in front of him. He LEGIT began to yell at me saying i needed to learn where to park from now on. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!! Would DEFINITELY give this place a ---ZERO if Yelp would allow. The owner likes to charm his female customers with dry humor. He seriously thinks he's the next "Larry The Cable Guy," goes on and on about how he's been in business for 30 years, married 3x, and that unless this "Dot Head" comes in today (meaning the day I was there), to buy his gas/auto repair shop he can plan to be there all day . He went on and on to talk about how dumb Polaks are and made many disparaging comments about other races. Had I known of another automotive shop, I would've taken it there but because I wasn't from this area (out of state resident), I was stuck with this annoying, aggravating, rip off of an experience. After a $425.00 Overcharge, and after being told by the owner that their work is guaranteed and that I did not have to worry about breaking down, my vehicle powered off on me within a mile of Mckenzie's auto repair shop. I called him and told him to come pick up this vehicle as it was his responsibility Otherwise I would want the $425.00 that I paid in cash just 5 minutes ago. He picked it up and told me that there was good news and bad so I told him to give me the bad first. The bad was that it could not be repaired today (meaning that day) .. The "Good News" was that (get this)...it could be repaired "at no extra cost to me !" So Far ... How Pathetic is this????!!!! So it cost me anyway because I had to stay at a nearby Inn until it was ready the next morning at 11:00a.m. I took the vehicle and called him again to let him know that there was a recurring problem and he clicked on my call. The vehicle is still not fixed after all the expense I incurred. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND THE HEADACHE AND ANNOYANCE OF DEALING WITH THIS AUTOMOTIVE CROOK. Terrible experience here. Brought my car in to check on a power steering problem. It took them two days to even look at my car, meanwhile I had no transportation to work. I was told "we'll get to it when we get to it". Finally after I called them several times for an update with no return calls, they told me they couldn't figure out the problem, the only thing they knew was that it would be an expensive mistake and they didnt want to order the wrong part and that not be what's going to fix it, fair enough. So I needed to bring my car to the Nissan dealership. Since I also needed to get to work I asked them to leave the keys in the car so I could pick up the car that night, they agreed. When I got there my car was locked. I called a number they gave me and told them my car was locked, and the man started cursing out the worker that he asked to leave the keys in my car while on the phone with me. 25 minutes later (while I'm standing in the rain) someone finally came and opened the shop so I can get my keys. Every step of the way I was disappointed with the customer service I received. I understand businesses get busy, but there are better ways to communicate that. couldn't have asked for a more positive experience with a new mechanic having only relocated here 4 months ago. in desperate need of major repair and unable to take my car the 150 miles to the mechanic i've used for 10+ years, i made the leap and chose mckenzie motors. all interactions were respectful, detailed, honest, positive and assuring. they took great care of my car at very reasonable pricing and had it ready a day sooner than expected. in addition to my car running great from the need repairs, they also took it upon themselves to fix an issue from a previous accident on my driver side door - no charge! based on this experience i have no problem recommending them to anyone and will be back to them when my car needs it! read more

My car shut down on I17 in Highland Mills while sitting in traffic. I live in PA two hours away and was now stranded. I called 911 and NY State police arrived and they called to get the vehicle towed. A tow truck from Mckenzie Motors was called and the driver was the owner of the place. The car was towed less than 2 miles from the interstate. While the owner Glenn, was somewhat knowledgeable about the car's issues (timing belt), his abusive behavior was shocking and disturbing. With his 12 yr old son was in the truck he ranted and spewed racial and antisemitic comments to people who passed by to the point that I felt unsafe to ride with him. I expressed my concerns to the State Trooper who told me to call 911 if his behavior escalates, but that the ride should be short. I left the car in the parking lot of Mckenzie motors concerned that it was not in a very secure area. Glenn told me that the car would likely need a new motor and that he would contact me to let me know what he thought could be a solution. He did say that the cost for repairs would be extensive and he would call with more detail after some research. He never called like he promised. Back in PA I visited a auto dealer and signed up for a lease with my now motor-less car as a trade in. The dealer contacted Mckenzie Motors to arrange pick up of the car and was told by Glenn that the bill was $760 cash only! I was never told that there would be any storage fees incurred while the car sat in the unsecured parking lot. My husband called to find out about the cost and was told that in order to get the car we had to pay $175 in towing fees and $75 a day storage fee. When my husband stated that I was never informed about any storage fee Glenn said that he talked to me and was not going to talk to my husband about it and hung up. He also said that the Auto dealer was making money on the lease and why shouldn't he get his money too. When my husband tried to call back no one picked up. He tried repeatedly and finally his young son answered and said that they were on vacation and hung up. I have reported him the State police and urged them to consider revoking his application as one of the acceptable towing services. read more

I've been in McKenzie motors for the impound pickups, I feel that once the car is towed and people get upset, he has the right to charge cash only because too many people threaten to stop payment with the credit card company. I never feel that the owner is rude, people should take responsibility for improperly parking there vehicles. People need to stop taking there anger out on tow company's for there negative actions. read more

Wish I didn't even have to give them a star. This place gets 0 stars from me. I am beyond disgusted with them. They have no loyalty to long coming customers. They are a total rip off! They over charge and try to get over on their customers. They are rude and incompetent. Instead of calling to let you know your car may need extra work or you will be charged more instead they just do the work and stick you with this huge bill. They don't even call you to let you know when your car is done you have to call them and the one guy who answers the phone who is also a mechanic never has any idea what is going on. The owner said he had tires and rims for my car. Shortly after, I come to find out after my tire blew out that the rims were all bent, too big for my car and he didn't even align my wheels. So not only did I pay for those tires, I ended up having to get new tires put on my old rims and get them put back on. Wasted time and money!!!! The owner is also a sexist, racist jerk!
