I first noticed the owner when he was bad mouthing his secretary behind the window at work. I checked him out on facebook and found several scathing reviews from undatisfied, female customers. But still I decided to find out for myself. I friended him on facebook and was soon bombarded with his posts about his wife leaving him and how much she hurt him and their poor little kids. Still I wrote a review favorable to his store because I saw alot of nice things in it. Then I decided to try the auction. I had a perfect, unblemished 21 piece antique tea set and an African themed art colltection of 3 prints and 1 large oil painting. When I went in to register my belongings to be auctioned he immediately jumped down my throat for the review. But it was a good review, I said. Didnt matter, he ordered me to take it down. So I did. That was last November. About Jan. I got a check for a whopping $13 for my tea set. I said to myself, ok maybe antique bone china isnt worth anything. But as the months past, I started to wonder when I would hear back about the African art collection. Finally I called and after a whole bunch of digging by his NEW girl behind the counter, I was told the artwork had been sold with the dishes for $5. So thank you very much, you whiny little pukey spoiled brat, for giving my belongings away for free. For all I know his friends somewhere got a hellava good deal! I wish I had listened to the women in the negative reviews I read when I first learned of McManus Auctions. He probably hates women because of his ex-wife and intends to take it out on every defenseless woman who enters his store. All I saw of him was a whiny little (fat) puke of a man who has way too much to be so whiny. I'll never go there again. read more

I furnished my **whole house** with items from McManus and have bought several nice pieces of jewelry as well. I've gotten some really great deals on some super cool and unique pieces. Overall, I have only great things to say about the business. McManus Auctions is very well run and all the workers in the back are friendly and personable. Patrick runs a tight ship! Just a couple things first time buyers might want to note: - You can only pick-up items M-F, 9 am to 5pm. This often has kept me from bidding, because I work an office job and can't always get away at lunch. I wish there was more room for some flexibility or an option to pick-up on Sunday. It would be great if pick-up was available from 6pm to 7pm one day a week for those who schedule in advance. - Electronics are not closely examined (unless the description says otherwise) I bought several keyboards that didn't work. The metal had been taken out of where the batteries needed to go. Just keep that in mind if you're not able to go look for yourself. read more

I have been going to McManus auctions for over 5 years. They have a large amount of eclectic items that cause me to bid on items I never knew I needed until seeing them up for auction :) I have bought a washer and dryer, refrigerator, and many furniture items and have never been disappointed. The description is almost always accurate in the catalog, and if not is usually corrected at auction. (Sometimes bad things happen to auction items during viewing days before auction). Another thing that McManus does is give you a 3 day return period for any electrical items, which gives you time to plug 'em in and check operation. My home is furnished auction style due to the bargains at McManus. We never had artwork on our walls until purchasing at auction. If I didn't feel that I received value for my bids, or that items were not described accurately, I would not have patronized this business for so many years. Thank you Patrick. read more

THE OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS called me a HEADACHE and that was his reason to why I can't purchase from this auction house. Calling someone a rude name is verbal abuse, but I could be wrong. This part is important. My question that I have is why won't the owner let me purchase items from his auction house? Is it because I am a headache or is it because it's one less bidder trying to win an individual item which would mean the item a CUSTOMER/CLIENT/CONSIGNER brings in to the business goes for LESS MONEY which IN TURN earns the CUSTOMER/CLIENT/CONSIGNER less money. I am writing this review because my feelings were hurt by being called a headache after spending THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WITH THIS COMPANY. Maybe it's a good thing I'm banned from purchasing items at this auction house. Don't bother with this auction house. They say there is no reserve but they reserve the right to as they call it "pass" on not allowing the item to be sold to the highest bidder! to me that sounds like a reserve! When confronted the man who said he was the owner named Patrick, said he has to make money and he is not going to let items be sold if they don't meet his price! very rude and disrespectful to women! he was mad and yelling at my 4'11" girlfriend! Put a reserve or sell the item to the highest bidder! that's what an auction house is suppose to do! I've been going to this auction for about 6 years and have spent thousands of dollars there. They were good at taking care of any problems we had such as items that didn't work, etc. Slowly the place turned into more of a gun shop. Now they even sell Nazi memorabilia . The owner is one od these Trump Supporting idiots who doesn't see the importance of wearing a mask. My wife was called nuts and accused of being rude because she wouldn't roll her window down to talk to one of their maskless employees. She asked nicely but they just walked away. The owner came out and gave her trouble and was only wearing his mask halfway. She was told to "deal with it" and also to "shop somewhere else." No problems there. read more

I was just at Mcmanus January10,2020 @ 3:40pm They lost the order, thats what they told my boy.I have sent my boy down their three time to pick up the stuff. When I show down there the blonde hair girl told me that they had already resold the items and yes I payed for the merchandise. This place is a slum. What a mess.
