Giving 5 stars mainly for the ambiance and vibe! Was a fun spot to grab a drink and hang out in college, and it still is several years later! They have a bar, some booths and even some shuffleboard tables to hang out at so there is something for everyone. I split a burger and a schnitzel sandwich - the burger was okay but the schnitzel was fantastic! Would definitely recommend ordering again. They have an extensive tap list and can't recommend ending the meal with their Porter enough! Service can take a while during busy times but it's a great place to spend time so it's still worth a visit! read more

My mom and I went here on her lunch break on a Monday in August around lunch time. There was maybe only 1 or 2 other tables at the time and we were seated quickly and our order was taken. I got a margarita that was good! The server was a nice guy who didn't linger and wasn't inattentive. He chatted with us at the very end and was super personable and nice! The french dip was surprisingly very good! It was surprising because I regularly eat french dips working in a restaurant and expected it to be a regular dip like I've had before but it was super flavorful and the au jus was great too! The side salad was fresh and the parm cheese added a nice elevated touch to a basic side salad. This location was cool and had a lot of beer coasters up on the beams. I thought that there were repeating ones but when I'd play the memory game with myself, I kept seeing new/different ones! Lots of cool posters too! They offer a 3-6 happy hour every day, as well as a late night happy hour, so we took advantage of that! The staff was friendly and quickly took our order, even though we arrived 10 minutes or so before 6:00. I had a veggie burger and my partner had a smash burger. They come a la carte, but that is still plenty of food and it was well prepared well. I also enjoyed a cider. Nice time! read more

McMenamin's in Eugene, Oregon, right by the University of Oregon campus on East 19th, is exactly the kind of spot you hope to stumble into on a road trip. We each went for smash burgers with fries and a can of McMenamin's non-alcoholic citra hop-infused water. The burgers were excellent--juicy and flavorful, and the fries came with this intriguing, almost nostalgic taste, as if they'd been fried in the same oil used for funnel cakes. Totally unexpected, but in a good way. This is a great college-town hangout. You're not coming here for Michelin stars, you're here for a relaxed, campus-adjacent atmosphere with pool tables, shuffleboard, and that easygoing bar energy. On this visit, school wasn't back in session yet, so it was mostly families, but you could feel the place's role as a social hub when the semester is on. Katie, our server, was phenomenal, warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The vibe made it easy to enjoy the food and take our time, something you don't always get when dining near a major campus. I was there with my soulmate, and while we probably wouldn't detour here from across the state, if we're back at the University of Oregon or passing through Eugene en route to somewhere like Crater Lake it's an easy yes. I like the dimly lit rustic ambience of this place, similar to other McMenamins but of course, unique. If you can get out to the patio in nice weather, the foliage and fencing is lovely. No complaints about the service in general, but one time I ordered a meal and asked for gluten-free bread as a sub for the toast, and the server was not on the ball enough to tell me that the item I was ordering, bread aside, was very much NOT gluten-free. This was disappointing. The food is decent, but they do have a tendency to overuse this kind of flavor-poor cheesy cream sauce, you will find it as the main part of many of the soups, or unexpectedly added to other dishes as well. I go here at least twice a month to meet up with a group, and am hoping they will be mixing up their menu with new items soon. read more

My daughter and I chose this place because it was the only place we could park - but we were happy we did. The atmosphere is pretty eclectic and old school but in a fun way. We both really enjoyed our lunch - turkey sandwich (with cranberry and mustard), salad (really good ranch dressing!) and soup (clam chowder). Our server (Loie) was friendly and efficient. The reason for the late review is I made a mistake and left this on the north bank locations not realizing there was two separate Euegene locations. Below is the original review. ONLY giving 1 star for the hostess going above and beyond to make room for a table of 8 We were sat pretty fast at around 12pm post marathon on April 28th and all ordered within 10 minutes of sitting down. The server was nice and helped provide suggestions for the food we ordered. Our drinks came out pretty fast but everything went downhill from there. It took us over an hour and 30 minutes for our food, it was absurd. After the first round of drinks we were never checked on to ask if we wanted another. Further tables that were sat AFTER our arrival had their food delivered before or at the same time as us. Never once was there an apology issued for the absurd wait time for the food. On top of that some of the sandwiches (chicken Sandwiches and burgers) were cold or luke warm at best. At the minimum the server could have apologized (I realize he is not cooking the food but accountability for your tables is the least you can do in the service industry - as someone who also bartends and serves I speak from experience) Attached is the photo of their el Diablo chicken sandwich that takes 90 minutes to make To finish I suggest avoiding this place unless you like to wait outrageously long for mediocre and over priced food with below average service. The time stamp of when I took the picture of our portion of the receipt was 2:12pm to demonstrate how long we were truly there for. There seem to be some college/high school sporting event in town so it was busy outside the restaurant. I had fish and chips. I could either have two or three pieces of fish. Three pieces for added cost. I went with two as the server mentioned they were pretty decent size. Fish was good. Not too good or too bad. Just good. Fries were fries and cole slaw was cole slaw. However the outside seating and the atmosphere, the weather and the service made it up to have a good time. Would love to try other menus next time. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

My fiancé and I went here for the first time yesterday and will not be going back. Horrible slow service and cold overpriced food. We waited 35-40 minutes for our food without an apology, explanation, or even just a comment. They brought our cold appetizer of pretzel sticks with our meals... what is the point of an appetizer then? The pretzels also cost $13.95 for four 3 inch tiny sticks. My $21 pizza was soggy in the middle and undercooked. My fiancés $18 dip sandwich was dry and cold. Also, I only had my one glass of water throughout the whole meal and had to drink my fiancés. We spent around $60 total for the two of us and it was such a waste. One star for the cool decor and vibe but overall a negative experience for the both of us. I made a visit to this location a few nights ago to have dinner with a friend. I picked McMenamins because my buddy wanted ice cream afterwards, and Prince Pucklers is across the street. We walked in and were immediately seated. Our waiter came over and asked about drinks. My buddy wanted water and I had planned on ordering a beer. Key word here is planned. Because our waiter never even gave me the chance to order for myself. I was not impressed by the waiter only talking to one of us. We order food. I order a bacon cheeseburger, cooked medium rare and a salad. My buddy orders the spinach and artichoke dip with chips. Our food arrives, and it looks horrid to start with. The spinach and artichoke dip was too thick. It was lumpy and congealed, not to mention the worst portion size ever. The cup it came in was maybe a quarter full, with half a bag of chips to go with it. The ratio of chips to dip was completely out of proportion. There was enough goopy crap in the cup for a whopping 4 chips. My burger was ordered medium rare and with a salad. The burger was nowhere near medium rare. It was long past well done, and bordering on burnt sawdust, and there was no bacon on it either. The salad was slathered in pickled onions. There were almost more pickled onions than actual salad. I realize that with the Coronavirus there will be problems, complications, and hiccups. But this was like they didn't ever care to TRY putting out quality food. I wasn't asking for perfection or 5 star dining. I simply wanted a good burger and beer to enjoy with a friend. The best part of this meal was the tortilla chips and ranch dressing. McDonalds puts out better burgers than what I had here. I didn't bother sending anything back, since our waiter couldn't even acknowledge my existence. My buddy said something about the ratio of chips to dip when it arrived and was promptly ignored. So complaints would have fallen on deaf ears and just wasted my time. I find it sad that a restaurant I've always enjoyed could sink so low both in quality and in service. The Coronavirus is no excuse for how pathetic this restaurant has become. I will not be returning, and I'll definitely think twice about visiting any other locations going forward. Sadly with that lack of quality, I don't see them surviving the Coronavirus and staying open much longer. read more

Our waiter had a sweet retort when I apologized for my 89 year old elder being so loud (he's hard of hearing) and occasionally demanding (because it's hard to accept the limitations that tend to coincide with aging). The food: sub par period. My $10 Caesar dinner salad was soggy... 3 of us dined and 3 of us were disappointed. It's a McM, so I think it's redundant to say that the food is not great. I went with friends just on a whim as the place we had intended to go to was closing and we had gotten there too late. I was very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and food at McMenamins! I ordered the Hammerhead BBQ chicken 10 inch pizza and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. Though it was on the more expensive side at $17.25, it was super flavorful! There were tons of veggies and toppings (to the point they were falling off as I was trying to eat everything!) and the crust, though somewhat thick, was a good ratio to the toppings, and tasty. First time at a McMenamins and pleasantly surprised. I was given the whole backstory and the mission statement from friends here on a visit and really glad I came! Very honest and delicious pub food with lots of options. I chose a specialty item, the shrimp quesadilla, and it was truly delicious. My partner got the tuna sandwich, also a speciality, and everyone else who didnt get those were jealous. The burgers looked so good as well, the fries were delicious and the tater tots were just simply amazing. The dipping sauces alone are worth the trip. YUM! Went here with my sister for dinner at 6 pm on Sunday and the place was practically empty, so no wait! Yay us! We got the strawberry lemonade which was delicious.... reminds me of red robin lemonade. We split the bacon cheeseburger and the cob salad. I am forgetting the name of the salad, but it is the first salad listed under their salads. Both things were delicious. Our server was very kind and attentive. The chef , no, cook played his April Fool joke and laced the onions with jalapenos, no cheese except a claimed cheese mix sauce that tasted like Thousand Island puddled on the plate and four shreds of beef.
