I walked in the front door and a woman behind the counter, appeared to be unboxing some items. I said "Hi", and she annoyingly said (like i was interrupting her), ' Can I help you?" I told her I was just stopping in to see if this would be a good fit for my dog while we're traveling and she replied "have you registered yet?" I said, no, but what are the requirements? She said, you need to register and then stated that all vaccines were required and she named them. She was so abrupt and rude, it was an instant turn-off. I was shocked that she didn't reply with a Hi, hello or a welcome-in after I initially said "hi". A tour would have been nice, but she obviously wasn't going to take the time for that! Sorry K9 Resorts... you don't deserve our business. Not really sorry.

Luckily I happen to be able to quickly send my son to get her and rush her to the vet where she suffered a broken leg. She was covered in feces and urine which obviously as she was hurt and scared. They do not have cameras or anyone who monitors the dogs at night so they have no idea how long she was trapped. When we forwarded the vet bill to them they said it was the dogs fault as they should have been resting peacefully. Like I think they are confused as these are dogs. They mentioned they waived the $100 boarding fee and that should be enough. Our dogs are not puppies they are not rowdy they are senior dogs at 9 and 12 and are small Shih Tzus. If you have dogs boarding here I would inspect the runs and would seriously question should you continue. They are obviously another business in it for the money and not for the care of our fur babies. There is so many better options in Sumner County.

Lucy has a lot of idiosyncrasies and her behavior didn't always make sense, but Lauren and Jim worked with us to find something that worked specifically for our dog and our situation. Not only were they great at helping us figure out what worked for our dog, but they were honestly just a great time to be around. Training with an energetic dog can be frustrating but they were always extremely helpful and just fun to be around. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of dog training services!

All the animals enclosures were clean and in good condition and the place didn't smell awfully like most pet stores often do. I haven't bought anything from here personally, but I did enjoy some window shopping and was very impressed with the quality, variety, and cleanliness of this establishment.

Like many folks have said in these reviews, everything about NHA was great---the workers, the…read morefacility, the adoption process, etc. But for the love of God, PLEASE stop the high-pressured insurance "consultation" by Fetch insurance at the end! We had already (gladly) spent an hour and a half at the shelter to adopt two kittens when we were directed to a dude sitting at a desk right in the middle of the lobby. We were told he was doing "post-adoption consultation" which was total BS. He made a few vague comments about kitten health and then jumped right into a hard sell for pet insurance. As others have said, guilt and pressure tactics are used in hopes of catching new owners, who want to do everything right for their new pet, at a vulnerable time. Like so many others, we fell for it, only to later realize that the insurance ($80 a month for 2 kittens) was insanely high! We cancelled as soon as we looked through the paperwork and saw that we had been taken. Luckily, Fetch refunds 100% in the first 30 days. We may use another insurer, but cornering and guilting new pet owners in the middle of a noisy and hectic shelter certainly put us off from EVER using Fetch. So a word of advice: if you adopt and they want to send you over to "post-adoption counseling," just say NO! Let them know that you're aware that it's just an insurance hard sell and that you prefer to research insurance options on your own. And as others have pointed out, avoid Murphy Road Animal Hospital at all costs! That's where the "free" exam is offered, but that vet clinic is notorious for horrific over-charging and poor care. Most vet clinics have discounts for initial wellness exams, and no vet is "free" since you still have to pay for shots.

In March, 2026, my wife and I adopted a 2-1/2 month old female Pit Rat terrier mix. She is full of…read moreenergy and very sweet. She has been suffering from constant urinary problem. She's almost 5 months now and obviously a puppy so pee accidents are expected. However, this is constant and sometimes she doesn't even realize she's going. Our vet has given 2 cycles of antibiotics and now says it's probably not infection. We changed vets and the new one tells us that being spayed at 2-1/2 months is WAY too soon and the hormone deficiency prior to a 1st heat cycle can cause all these problems and more! She could have lifelong urinary problems and is more susceptible to bone cancers, joint issues, as well as developmental issues. Early spaying is common practice at shelters but even the vet said that 2-1/2 months is just irresponsible on the part of Nashville Humane Association (NHA) and we are watching our new baby suffer everyday because they are in such a rush to process these puppies through the system for adoption. We would warn anyone adopting from NHA to ask questions about the early spay practices. FYI, a normal, healthy spay age is between 6 and 24 months. Adopt at your own risk (and puppy's) from a place like this.

I was given all the information I needed to comply with their very efficient process. It was my first visit to this facility. I have know it for years but was under a certain idea that it was just for low income individuals or feral animals. I had an opportunity to see my sweet friend and the director of the facility and she informed me that that is a common misconception. She said they take all folks and most animals. There are a few dog type they don't spay or neuter. They did an exceptionally wonderful job with my asshole cat. She would not wear the cone or a sleeve over the surgery. So, I just had to watch her and she did great. The wound healed great. She is still an asshole but a smidge calmer. I actually was not charged anything due to the fact that I am on Medicare, so it was a great value to me. My plan is to donate to them through their wish list/amazon. Thanks for all you all do for the animals

From the day this office opened its doors for the very first day, my animals were taken to this clinic! Thru the years, we've had several pets and have received the greatest care by the Dr's and all the staff! They are all very friendly, caring, compassionate and we grew to love and appreciate everyone of them! My last dog passed 6 years ago, and I chose not to get another one! But I miss my association with everyone at this clinic! Your precious fur babies will get the best care, so if you're looking for a Veterinarian, I suggest you give them a visit! read more

The most wonderful vet and the most wonderful staff. My little 14 yr old Chi was in kidney failure. I did not know this until we got there. She was all but dead when we got there on a late Sunday afternoon. Two days later I bought her home. Dr. Mitchell was hoping for 2-3 months. It has been almost a year now. I take her in once a month for fluids and she is doing AWESOME. He calls her the miracle dog. Without him I would be without my precious Lexi. I will never go to another vet. EVER! The Doctors and Staff here have been absolutely wonderful! They are very professional, friendly, and concerned about our pets health. we have 3 small elderly dogs that have been needing a bit more attention than they use to. They don't get any better than Dr. Mitchell and his staff. He is the only vet my dog will even tolerate. He's kind and gentle and I never feel rushed when I'm talking to him (which is rare nowadays). Earlier the same morning, White House Animal Clinic examined my cat and charged nearly $700, treating his condition as an upper respiratory infection. That evening, his condition worsened into respiratory distress, and I called the clinic seeking urgent guidance. I explained that we had already been seen that morning and that we did not have the funds for a specialty emergency hospital in Nashville. I was first told to take him there anyway. When I said this was not financially possible and asked what options existed locally, I was advised to bring him in so they could euthanize him. This recommendation was made over the phone, without discussion of stabilization, without referral to a closer clinic with oxygen support, and without exploration of alternatives. When I questioned how euthanasia could be suggested under these circumstances, the recommendation was simply repeated. For context, we sought care elsewhere. My cat received oxygen, IV fluids, and fever management. Further evaluation showed the issue was not simply an upper respiratory infection, but involved a bite wound, FIV, and a dangerously high fever. He survived the night and is now recovering at home. I understand that medicine is complex. What I cannot accept is the way this emergency was handled -- without compassion, without options, and without appropriate referral after significant same-day charges.

With "cats" & "dogs" entrances, & with the reception in the center, I thought it a very intelligent design intended to reduce stress on our pets getting care, before they get to see the veterinarian. Hailey, awesome again, led us to Jax's exam room. You can feel the care throughout. Dr. Read was great & in addition to treating Jax's ears, checked a growth that had concerned me on Jax's right leg. Nothing to worry about, just a cystic tumor. If I ever need care for any animal & my vet (I've known since college) is overbooked, Jax will be coming back to see his friends here. I highly recommend them. When taking care of payment for Jax's perfect care, the receptionist even gave me a first time visit discount. And then when I called to find out what happened... after i had to tell him numerous times MY CAT WAS A BOY NOT A GIRL...lets just say that he was a horribly MEAN MONSTER WHO HUNG UP ON ME! We see Dr. Cindy Hand, who is not a native of Tennessee but she clearly loves the area and takes her job very seriously.
