For example, If you have urinary incontinence you can just lay in your wet bed and they will complain about having too much laundry instead of suggesting a depends change in the night. Also, we were charged for years for a level of care higher than we received. When we called it to their attention, the director acknowledged it and agreed to pursue a refund then she ghosted us. My mother moved out to a higher care facility and I've been chasing that overcharge for over a year. The grounds are beautiful but housekeeping, personal care and especially problem solving are a real problem. If you are only looking for medication management and meals and laundry twice a week, this could be your place. The food is good.

As many facilities like this struggle this one does as well. Don't believe the website pictures:…read morethe exercise room has been moved to make room for yet another office for an employee, the jacuzzi tub that would be so beneficial for seniors with arthritis and body pains is non-functional, hasn't been useable for years with no plans to fixit or replace it, activities are pretty limited and minimal as are outings, and getting transportation to shopping and appointments is pretty limited as well. There are a few staff members that shine but for the most part they don't seem to genuinely care about residents or their comfort and needs. It is sad. There is great potential for this facility but they fall very short.

A couple of staff members were not only friendly but also genuinely attentive. However, Fir Crest has far more inattentive team members, who are unwilling or incapable. Unfortunately, these were the individuals with the most regular contact with our loved one. On more than one occasion, we arrived to find she had fallen forward in her wheelchair in the dining hall. No one had noticed and we have no idea how long she had been in that position. On other occasions, we found her without clothing on, despite the fact 3 employees were nearby on their phones. One of these instances, she merely wanted the matching top to her pants. Despite our daily visits, laundry care, and room cleaning, we often discovered missing or unfamiliar clothing, including clothing she was wearing. Meal provision was sloppy, and personal care, including bathing, was inconsistent. During dinner one evening, there was a physical altercation between 2 staff members that ended up including more staff members out in front of the facility. The inadequate attention to our vulnerable family member left us dissatisfied, expecting a much higher standard. After our family member's passing, the absence of condolences or even a simple smile from any staff member during the room clearing left us feeling as if we were invisible. One final note, the director's office was just a few doors down, and not once did we meet or were greeted by her. She tolerates poor behaviors in the part of her staff.

She liked the people and atmosphere at Parkland but was hesitant with uncertainties. The community relations director, Marie Jennings was very considerate of my mom's feelings and reassured us that when the time was right everything would work out. Three weeks later my mother told me she wanted to make the move. We called Marie who told that an apartment had just become available. No sales pressure, just waiting for us to say yes to the move and things happened very rapidly in an in the elder care environment which is so often overshadowed with clouds of insufficiency. My mother is still quite the foodie and likes the food at Parkland, especially the soup. One of the first things I noticed was the happy and visible caregivers who always seem to be working in teams. My mother has lots of health issues and does lots of complaining but she likes the caregivers who finish her care with hugs and reassurances. I see her smiling when they leave. My wife and I travel part of the year. Recently my mother's motorized wheelchair broke down. She was quite distraught and wanted me to come home and fix it right away. This was impossible. I called the Parkland triage person and asked if the maintenance person could take a look to see if some simple and basic was the problem. This did not happen. When I arrived at Parkland a week later I discovered the charger had simply come unplugged. I brought this to the attention of Marie. She gave my wife and I options for how this could be handled. At our request she called the people involved who by the way are very busy, into her office. We talked about how important it is that when my wife and I are away we can feel good about my mother's safety and well being. Everybody makes mistakes but Marie Jennings handled this situation as a true caring professional. Thank you Marie and Parkland staff. You are all amazing. Elwyn Behnke

The criteria I used was extensive but the main reason for my choice was the happiness I saw in the residents and the overall positive environment that they lived in. Most everyone had a smile on their face and I saw whole families having lunch or just visiting with their loved ones. I also thought the living space in the apartments and studios were nice and light and bright. The only reason I did not give Parkland 5 stars is because my mother is not yet a resident there so I can not speak from her experience. In my opinion, Parkland is a wonderful place for a loved one and I would rest easy if my mom becomes a resident of this facility.

All-in-all the crew at Newberg CDJR communicated throughout the whole process, fixed the body damage, sent a new charger and are still working on my title from Oregon so I can complete the registration. This has been the most difficult purchase ever, but I must say they did try to make things right, so credit to them for that.

I would strongly recommend verifying the VIN of any vehicle you test drive at this dealership…read moreagainst the VIN in any online advertisement to make sure they match. I came to Newberg CDJR specifically because of an AutoTrader listing for a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Limited AWD with approximately 10,000 miles, VIN ending in 2095. When I arrived, the salesperson (Mike Jeffers) asked me if I knew the VIN of the vehicle I was there to see. I thought that was an odd question at the time... especially because I was subsequently told that they only had one IONIQ 5. I was given that IONIQ 5 to test drive, inspected it, and then spent time negotiating a purchase. I was ultimately given an offer with a selling price and trade-in value to consider After leaving the dealership, I discovered that the vehicle I had actually test driven and negotiated for was not the vehicle listed in the listings. The advertised vehicle was: VIN ending 2095 2024 IONIQ 5 Limited ----AWD---- Approximately ---10,500-- miles The vehicle I was actually shown and given pricing for was: VIN ending 0428 2024 IONIQ 5 Limited ---RWD--- Approximately ---25,800-- miles So the vehicle I was shown had more than twice the mileage and was RWD instead of the advertised AWD vehicle. The advertised car and the test drive car were not the same.... And they only had ONE Ioniq 5 on the lot. ...At no point during the test drive or negotiations was it made clear to me that I was being shown a different vehicle from the one they had advertised. Had I bought it and ignored the mileage difference I would have thought I was buying an AWD and actually getting a RWD. What makes the experience even MORE concerning to me is that as I was considering my options I went back to the website to check the Carfax only to find the listing for the 10,000-mile AWD vehicle, as well as the dealership's own online listing for it had disappeared... in effect removing the VIN discrepancy footprint from the web Whether this was intentional or the result of extraordinarily poor inventory management, I can't know. ...But as a customer, the result was the same: I came in to look at an advertised 10,000-mile AWD vehicle and was instead test-driving and negotiating the purchase of a 25,000-mile RWD vehicle without being told they were different cars, which is the definition of BAIT AMD SWITCH. That experience destroyed my confidence in the dealership, and I walked away - which is too bad because I was previously very comfortable doing business with them and with Newberg Chevrolet (where the vehicle was park) having purchased vehicles from them in the past. While I don't blame Mike explicitly he is certainly complicit with his sales manage Russell. I will not be back and would advise you to go elsewhere. This place is shady
