I know there are some pretty bad reviews here (just read them), but I did not have a bad experience. I found McMurray Styling Center and Agape through a Groupon for a discounted gel manicure for a first time customer. Ever since then, I have been a loyal customer. By being appointment only, it allows the cosmetologists/nail techs to give their full attention to the service they are performing and the client so they never have to rush. The quality of Agape's work really shows in the longevity of her manicures through her attention to the details. The gel manicures she's given me have lasted nearly three full weeks without chipping which I would have considered impossible before. I highly recommend that anyone in the area visit the salon and get a manicure from Agape. I always leave feeling satisfied and more confident than before. read more

Why didn't I read these Yelp reviews before I bought the Groupon? I paid like 37 bucks for a wash/ cut/ color which is a steal.... the stylist Marcy was so unbelievably rude to me. She asked me if my last hair cut was at Supercuts??? Because my layers were so bad. Then proceeded to keep asking me where I usually get my done and what they charge. My whole family (including my mom and dad) have been seeing Mary Lou at McMurray Styling Center for many years. She has always been great to us all and very honest too. I like having things explained to me - why this cut will look good on me and maybe the idea I had wasn't the best. It is my special "me time" where I can relax and know I will come out with my hair color looking great and a terrific style and cut. Mary Lou is patient and takes her time doing a professional job. I have not used a Groupon or used other services like mani/pedi so I cannot speak to those. read more

No No and Hell NO! Stay away, It's a Barber Shop. I spent $60 for highlights, lowlights, or color and cut. Could I have gotten a least something for my effort? Color was lousy, and the hair cut we'll just say it will take a year to grow out this uneven mess felt like I was in a barber shop, (butcher shop) I had my hair redone the next month, which included the roots, high-lights and low-lights, and a re-shaping of the cut all of the above for $130. My next appointment is on Dec. 1,2017. Three months later and it will only cost me $65 I love my new color and cut this OWNER aims to please. Just say no to the owner of McMurray Styling Center. Bought the Groupon to try it out and relax and it was anything but. The tech will not cut cuticles, she said it was illegal in PA. Then she said she said my cuticles were too dry to cut and I suggested to soak them in water and she said she can't because I'm getting gel. She painted my nails like she was not trained at all. I was stressed out and wanted to be quiet and relax and she insisted on talking the entire time when I was obviously not really even responding. I will not be going back, not worth it. read more

Don't buy the Groupon. You pay for what you get. I go to Nail Envy Spa in Mt. Lebo ( LOVE THEM!) but just bought the Groupon to try out. I was there for almost 2 hours for a mani pedi. Not waiting, actually receiving the service. The nail tech kept talking to me, not an issue- i'm very personable- but every time she uttered a word she would stop working to just "chat". She was trying, but she can't do two things at once and she obviously is very new at this. Also, I left there with residual red nail polish on my big toe and around 3 of my fingers that she didn't fix. Note: I had shellac which dries instantly, so there was no smudging on my part. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I received 2 Groupons (as gifts) for this place. I went in the first time without calling. They informed me they're appointment only, fine. I get that. They didn't offer to schedule me AND my friend- TWO clients. It seems like they only have one nail tech, but they advertised on Groupon? Fast forward, called for an appointment. They can't book me for weeks and I can only use one Groupon? She said I could give the one away, great! This place is really snobby and by customer friendly. I hate going to salons generally because I am not a very "girly" girl and am pretty much totally out of my element in salons. When I went, I hadn't had my hair cut in about 5 years (hey, I had moved around a lot, and women's haircuts are expensive). Yes, I knew there were a lot of split ends, but the stylist was just so unbelievably mean about it, reaffirming my distaste for salons. The stylist refused to give me the cut I wanted, saying my hair was "too dead to do anything with aside from trim". She said I'd have to come back in a few months for a cut like the one I wanted. Sounded pretty scammy to me. To top it off, she cut my hair unevenly and when I pointed out in the chair that the two sides didn't match, she rudely patronized me saying, "well, you wouldn't know this, but of course it's never going to be even when you pull it straight like that." Uhhhhhhhhh..... what? Also, the cashier doesn't have the ability to tip on cards (so they say) so I had to run to the nearest ATM in order to get cash to tip. I shouldn't have bothered considering the service I got, but my conscience wouldn't let me not tip. Still, I won't be going back. Worst experience ever and now that I'm more familiar with the area, I've found much better places, for comparable prices. read more

Went there for a mani-pedi. I was not impressed. I got a shellac manicure and three days later it was peeling off. I did not do anything abnormal and I work a desk job. I have never had a shellac manicure last less then a week. The nail tech kept talking about her personal problems during my service. I just wanted to relax. I've been looking for somewhere in the area to get good nail services, but my search will continue. read more

I was hoping this would be a great experience but quite the contrary. I was bullied into cutting off more of my hair than I wanted to. The stylist got very confrontational when I objected to getting at least 6 inches cut off. So, I acquiesced to her. When I got home, I noticed that my hair is uneven to boot. The right side is a good 2 inches shorter than the left. I am an easy person to please but I will NEVER go back to this salon again. I did have a Groupon but if you're going to treat Groupon customers poorly, then why offer your business on there to begin with? read more

I had the same experience as the other reviewers. I bought the Groupon for the 'full salon pedicure'. This was the least detailed, least professional pedicure that I have ever received. Barely cleaned up my calluses, talked the whole time- mostly complaining or bragging, and when I got outside into good lighting, I realized she didn't even paint the entire nail. Very unprofessional and amateur. To top that off, I decided to try a cut from one of their stylists since I needed one anyway. I just wanted a tiny trim but as per another reviewer, felt bullied into letting her cut off an inch to make my hair healthier. she cut off at least 4! I am so angry and disappointed. Purchased the Groupon for a mani/pedi. I got the shellac manicure and basic pedicure. While the tech was very friendly, the service itself was not very great. My toenail polish began chipping a few days after and they were unevenly painted with many spots missing color all together. The shellac began peeling up after 4 days, was uneven, missing spots and had bubbles in the top coat. I also left with shellac on my fingers. She didn't trim my cuticles on my fingers or toes so what I felt I paid for was a polish change and some lotion. I definitely won't be going back. read more
