French fries
Molly K.

Finnagan's Wake is a local spot in the middle of Rockville Town Square. So many of the businesses in Town Square are chains so it is really cool to have a locally owned business hold its own among the big businesses. I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill.

Bread pudding

This place was absolutely phenomenal! The service was quick and we were quickly greeted when we came in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has plenty of seating although I heard it gets really busy at night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends and I came to try some desserts and enjoy sometime somewhere. I got the fried bread pudding, which was phenomenal. My friends got the bread pudding and brownie dessert. We all agreed the fried bread pudding was the best. I would definitely come back for a full meal!

Gouda burger, Old bay wings (wet), chopped salad

The food was pretty good and the serving sizes as well. My partner had a Gouda beef burger that was huge and the fries were amazing. I had a chopped salad. It was huge, but I could pick my own dressing. Only thing is the balsamic was a little salty for me. The service was initially just ok as we weren't acknowledged walked in. But our server was informative, helpful and had a great memory. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance inside was kind of dull and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always a plus though is they had outside seating![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Poutine

The food is really good here! We ordered the fish and chips, the poutine, and cheese curds. The food was super delicious and we went on a Sunday so it wasn't super busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You do have to seat yourself and it is loud inside since people tend to go there for sports games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only thing I didn't really like is how there were dogs inside. Since it's a restaurant the dogs inside seem kind of unsanitary since they were walking around freely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I recommend eating outside of you don't want to be around loud people or order to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Old Bay Wings - Scrawny, little meat and no Old Bay taste. I don't get it. Nice touch to include ranch and blue cheese.

Nice, neighborhood place with a decent draft beer menu, bar and food. Usually pretty loud indoor seating; on a nice day/evening it can be more pleasant to sit outdoors. Staff are enthusiastic and friendly. The Staff usually are really busy so it can be a chore to get their attention. The other night, we ordered a dozen wings with old Bay seasoning (a special) and the 3 fish taco plate. Old Bay Wings (10 wings for $14) - the sauce is billed as being house-made, but it's essentially a Franks hot sauce (traditional Buffalo wing sauce), but there was barely a hint of Old Bay. That was disappointing. Also, the wings themselves were scrawny - tiny, with very little meat and pretty hard to chew. For $14, the wings should be a lot better. Fish tacos ($14) - delicious. The server said they were spicy and there was a Siracha-type sauce lightly applied that gave the dish a nice kick. The fish was lightly breaded and fried - a nice sized piece of fish in each of the three tacos. Doesn't come with a side, like fries. Very filling and tasty. I don't tell people how to run their businesses, but I do wonder if maybe they should have more than two people covering the busy bar and restaurant, including the outside seating. At least that's how it's been the several times I've been here. The Staff does their best.

Guiness beef stew

I like this place a lot. My goto bar in RTS. Wish my neighborhood shopping center had a bar like this. Susie is the bartender we see most and she is so friendly. The staff here makes this place a more welcoming feel. Nothing like kicking back with some Guinness on draft and watch some games on tv and being waited on by some real good people. We really like their wings here, poutine, and other appetizers as I normally come here after dinner. But I finally decided to eat more substantial meal and ate a Guinness beef stew. It was huge and tasty. Need to hit my peloton bike after that meal. Next time fish and chips and save room for desserts. Anyone know where I can get a good sticky toffee pudding? Man if they had that dessert here, be here every week! The have weekday happy hour and late night happy hour too. Wish they can update their FB page or their website though for live bands entertainment. That's one thing this RTS really needs. If you are in the mood for some Guinness on draft with some good food, this is the place to go in Rockville!

Shepard pie
Khiem H.

The food here was great overall. I really liked the fish & chip and the Shepard pie. The stars really are the lamb sliders and fish tacos though. The tacos were crispy and spicy and the lamb sliders were very aromatic. The service was quick and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside has a lax ambient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would come back again.

Fish and chips
Micah C.

Great place for happy hour. Came here on a Wed night with a group of people and the place was already pretty full. But the bartenders were quick to serve us our beers and our food. My husband and I both ordered the fish and chips, which I highly recommend! The portions are big. The fish batter is light and crispy while the fish was flaky. There was definitely a good ratio of batter to fish. The fries were also pretty good. We also like how they have picnic tables outside so if the weather is nice out, highly recommend sitting outdoors. It was nice of one of the bartenders to come bring the food to us outside. Definitely coming back here again.

They want you to use paperless menus but wifi isn't free here plus my phone was on lte ; so a bit counterproductive ... the menus they give are antiquated . Seems like the staff is out numbered although kind and courteous. Food is good for bar food . Parking is available although huh may have to pay. Drinks are ok a bit watered down I wasn't impressed but not upset with the place . Just an ok night .

Finnegan's has become our favorite bar in Montgomery County. This place has it all - great vibes, great service, great drinks, and great food. Open late with a menu that covers everything from burgers and wings to bangers and mash and even an English breakfast. You'll often find live music, and there's plenty of seating both inside and out on Rockville Town Square.

Is it open on New Years Day?

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Mary, I apologize for the one year later reply. We simply did not realize there is a section on Yelp for questions. The answer is "absolutely!". Thank you

We just had a few ciders, and they were a dollar off. For food, I got the haddock platter that came with Old Bay potato chips and veggies. I really loved the fish and those chips, but I found the veggies to have more butter than I'm typically comfortable with. And to me it was just that, not necessarily seasoning to upgrade the flavor. Otherwise, the bar area can get a little tight during peak hours, and there are plenty of lower tables to sit at. Seems like the place can I get busy on any given day, but it's a vibe! Everybody is really nice. Parking can be a challenge I feel like (somehow I got the last spot)... If it fills up, the adjacent lot is adamant about the parking only being for the few restaurants there. And the street parking is going to be a gamble.

We altered the mushroom special with half sausage. The three cheeses and the caramelized onions with balsamic made for a delicious pizza! The large pizza was so generous that we took leftovers home and enjoyed snacking on them for days. The waitstaff was great - checked in frequently and even teased us with humor when we requested a box to take home what we didn't finish. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- it truly felt like a neighborhood pub, and it was great to see the variety of ages of the patrons enjoying their meals. We will definitely return for another meal. My only suggestion is the beer selections should be clearer on the menu.

A friend invited me to go on a little Duke's tour with her, and this was our first stop. They were decked out in panda decor and had a charming menu. I was mainly there for their drinks, but I decided to try their quinoa salad too. What a hefty, satisfying salad! The butternut squash, goat cheese, and pumpkin seeds were the highlights. Based on this initial experience, I'd be back for sure. Good happy hour too. Now, this location may be a little out of my way, but thankfully there are closer Duke's.

Server came by, not so much as a greeting or introduction, just a short, "do you know what you want?" Fine - no problem. We ordered two avocado toasts and side of fries to share. Now, the menu clearly says the avocado toasts are served with a "runny egg". Ok sure, no problem. What i did not anticipate was a half raw egg with the yolk swimming in a sea of translucent completely uncooked "whites". It was like a golden disc encased in a snot rocket. Ok, maybe that's their "runny". Slide it off the toast and press on - snail trail of mucus be damned. The avocado spread was great - bright, citrusy, and well seasoned. The "hot sauce" was likely from a bottle and could have been left off. The radishes would have benefitted from being tossed in lemon, salt and pepper. The image of the "runny" egg was too much so I ate half the toast serving and meandered to the fries. Not bad, crispy , hot, and...wait...sweet...something is off, I can't put my finger on it but at least it's not a raw egg. I keep eating. My kids looks at me and says, "do these remind you of funnel cake?" THAT'S IT - FUNNEL CAKE. We have both had enough, ask for the check. The server comes by gives me the clunky machine, I tap and put it down, he reaches for it and I say, it's processing, I still have to sign...and then he starts snapping his fingers...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL €¥($ ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW?!? Never again. Never, again.

I was staying at the hotel that this restaurant is inside of for a conference. Yes it was a really big conference that made a ton of people come here. BUT this hotel was pretty much made for conferences. They have them all the time and are scheduled a *very* long time in advanced. The date for this conference was announced at the beginning of the year... but regardless moving along. The restaurant was severely understaffed. We had to wait to get seated and then the gentleman had us walk a complete lap around the restaurant before seating us at the entrance. No biggy, mistakes happen, we got a view of the whole place I joked. It took us ages to get food or drinks. It took about 30 minutes to ASK for the check after we finished our meal. I watched a huge line begin to pileup to get seated because the host wasn't there for about 15 to 20 minutes. My food was good. I had a crab salad. Not amazing but it was good! I had the "alto" malbec to drink and that was great!! Definitely recommend that wine. All in all the restaurant should have been prepared for an influx of people. The waiters should have paid attention to their guests. Food was a-okay. I would give it a solid 2.5 stars but let's round up. We decided on a different restaurant for the second day. They ended up having the same staff... oops!
