Review for the happy hour. The french onion soup special is great, so is the welsh rarebit. Website displays happy hour spring summer menu from last year, they are still serving the winter fall menu (see picture). Cocktails: Hawk of Light--3/5--cardamom is nice at first but the drink gets sickly sweet after a few sips. Grand Exhibition--hits the mark, rye and bitters shine through. Go for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, skip the flourless chocolate cake which is dense and dry. They were out of the Rhubarb Trifle special. Service is pub like, many regulars at the bar. Prices on the higher side for the area and happy hour.

The food was great! So was their service. Felt amazing after eating here. Not too heavy, well balanced. Ambiance is a little hole in the wall pub where you can watch sports or grab a yummy English meal with friends and family. They also sell girls scout cookies out in the front at times.

Finally got around to going to this place and this is an english pub experience. All the other pubs I have been to the area has been lacking since this one has a lot of the food sourced locally to make in house and tons of great beer options. They are also the only place I have seen that has a tea service. The fish and chips were good even though two fried foods together is a lot. I tried the chana masla and I have to assume the chicken would have been better. I would go back to try more of their foods. Not the biggest place so I would assume there could be a wait on a weekend night. If you are missing an english pub then this is the place to go.

Had a wonderful time at Hawk and Griffin. We were able to try the amazing Happy Hour menu without having to sit at the bar. The chicken bites and fish bites and the fries with curry sauce were all amazing. Perfectly handcrafted cocktails. Will be back!

We came back to try the Full English Breakfast. Called the "Fully Monty" on the menu $19.00. Comes with 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 4 slices of black pudding, fried potatoes, small ramekin of beans, sliced toast, butter, tomato & mushrooms. Was sharing with my son so got an extra side of sausage (3), bacon (2) & eggs (2) scrambled. That was like an extra $10 which was fine. I might have ordered too much but safe to say we had a take away box. The eggs were all perfectly cooked as well as the delicious sausage & mushrooms. The bacon could have been cooked a little more as well as the potatoes. They didn't taste like Idaho potatoes. A bit odd tasting. Beans were flavorless but I know it came out of a can from Heinz. The black pudding was surprisingly good. A little spice to it. Not spicy hot but flavorful spice. No hint of blood or anything wierd. The toast was good too! Rugby and soccer (futbol) playing in the backgrounds. A large contingent of South Africans came in to support their rugby team who beat Australia. Service wasn't great but average. The food & atmosphere were legit tho! Next stop, Fully Irish Breakfast (I love Irish breakfast) at Falls Church's Ireland's Four Provinces. Let's see which country has the better tasting breakfast. Better than American breakfast!

Potato croquettes My favorite! Sauces were creamy and tomatoes definitely balanced the meal. Potatoes and tomatoes

Ordered to go, pick up your orders at the bar. When I got home everything was still piping hot. Potato croquettes -My favorite! Sauces were creamy and tomatoes definitely balanced the meal. Potatoes and tomatoes Fish bites - ask for extra lemon if you love lemon! The tartar sauce gave a great tang contrast to the fish. The crispness was light and not too oily. Roast beef - sandwich was delicious, I like it with the horse radish more than the dip included. The dip was way too salty for me. Definitely did not eat this in one sitting, bf ate the rest of the fish bites and croquettes and said they were pretty good!

Went in for lunch and enjoyed my meal. The fish and chips were delicious. It came out piping hot. Service was attentive. Bathroom was clean. No complaints.

Chicken wings with Jerk Sauce. Very spicy!

The wait staff was nice (5 starts) and the food was a little miss (3 stars). We ordered a Yorkshire Bitter and Old Peculiar, both are enjoyable. However the food was a little miss. The chicken wings with jerk was so spicy that we both had stomach aches after eating them. The Rogan Josh Lamb was obviously cooked from frozen meat. The taste and texture were off. Since it's a local pub that we want it to thrive so I will be generous with the starts...

Great service, friendly staff, good recommendations from the staff. Scotch eggs: hearty, crunchy, savory Fish and chips: light crispy batter, the fries were very hot.

If you want quality old school pub food and ale Hawk & Griffin is the way to go. Classic pub bar set up with live Premier League football going. Recommendations: 1. Hawk & Griffin Oggies (the slang term for Cornish pasties): perfect crust on these beef (with onion and carrot) handheld (if you want) pies. Super tasty and perfectly paired with my pint of the Old Speckled Hen. 2. Welsh Rarebit: English cheddar, Worcestershire, mustard, and lager melted over sourdough bread. Flavor bomb although I wouldn't use a lager for this. 3. Chicken & Leek Pie: another classic done the right way. Chicken, leeks, mushrooms, peas & carrots in a white cream gravy. Gravy was think not soupy. It was very chicken and leek forward and not overdone with the carrots. The crust was super buttery. They nailed this dish. Logistics: Parking on the side and back. First time dining here. I had the fish and chips, and it was excellent. The batter was crispy and tasty and the fish was very fresh and flaky. I really liked the fries (chips) too.

Hawk & Griffin is a wonderful British Pub if you are in the Vienna area and are looking to check out British Food/Beer, ect. Inside features what you'd expect from a pub, a dining area, a separate section for a bar, and a small area for darts if you are into that. On Sunday it gets packed because people do come out to watch football ( soccer ) and you might have a difficult time parking here. If anything, please do not park at Wawa next door or you'll get towed. Be careful if you plan a visit on a busy day. I wanted to try an Full Monty, or a Full English Breakfast... and this place does it justice. It is a lot of food for those who are daring for a challenge. It features two eggs made to order, British bacon, sausage, black pudding, grilled mushrooms & tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, British beans & toast. By the time you finish this you will not want to eat anything for the whole day. I definitely walked out of here wanting to sleep after this! I also did end up getting dessert too; I craved Sticky Toffee Pudding. It's been on my mind since I went to Hell's Kitchen a few years ago. I can safely say that it's very good here too! Served hot with a scoop of Ice Cream, this is the perfect dessert to have to cleanse your palette. I honestly loved it and I hope I can come back for this again soon. Definitely check it out !

Great spot to watch the Premier League on the weekends. For me it's coffee with breakfast and friends. Friendly, soccer-oriented staff in a traditional British pub. Dedicated parking lot, they're located on Main Street, Vienna.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes, but the patio has been filling up quick with the nice weather. Seats also seemed a little close to one another - something to know if your dog gets excited when too close to other dogs.…

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!

The environment was an open industrial space with a low-key vibe (at least at this time). A handful of regulars were posted up at the bar. They had sports on the TVs in front and on the big screen in the back. There's a stack of board games in the corner. For the couple times I've been here, the bartender has always been very informative, walking me through the beers on tap without my asking. The beer list is solid, and I had to try the Raspberry Beret imperial stout - the flavor was unique and the raspberry very notable. If you're feeling brave, ask about the Sweet Scoville Sting. Seriously spicy, so make sure you taste it before committing. Beyond beer, there's wine, ready-to-drink margaritas and cocktails, and a robust food menu so something for everyone.
