Myself Kat, and my fiance Pete.. We've been together 11 years, and we're taking it slow and having fun. Lol

Thankyou McNears for a great time last night! We appreciate so much having a nice place to go to hear some fantastic music! We were there to see Pablo Cruise. We also got to listen to John Mason. WOW.. He was really good too.. When we left we were so glad to see your restaurant/ Saloon open late, and serving food.. We were seated right away, everyone was having such a good time..The vibes were just so happy..We had the potato skins and the quesadilla with added Korean pork..Everything was delicious..We needed a chill spot before driving home after the concert..It was perfect combo and we really had a great time. Thankyou so much to all your staff and servers, everyone is so friendly.. Cant wait to return for another outing. I forgot to photo the food before we ate most of it..Should be a clear indication how good it was.. We brought the leftover quesadilla to my son.. He also liked it.

Historic restaurant and bar. Casual, lively and friendly atmosphere. We had a large group and service was great. Above average bar food and came out fast. Good beer too!

    Ahi tuna salad

Our waitress was pleasant and prompt with service and very attentive to our needs. We both ordered delicious broccoli mushroom soup, and the Ahi tuna salad. I must say it was one of the best salads that I've ever eaten in my entire lifetime. Beautiful presentation, excellent fresh ingredients. We can't wait to return to McNear's for another excellent meal and very comfortable seating.

Piping hot and stuffed full, the Happy Hour Pot Stickers were a perfect snack!

What a welcome we received to Petaluma!! Our first stop of the afternoon and Cat welcomed us with open bar seats and a genuine smile! We had just arrived in Petaluma and were excited to get the feel of the town and Cat delivered! Her expertly made cocktails, including my new favorite Grapefruit Martini, made us fans of McNear's for life and we'll definitely be back several times before we leave! We only had the Pot Stickers as we'd just eaten and they were delicious, perfectly fried and stuffed full of goodness. Happy Hour prices can't be beat and every staff member we had the pleasure of meeting was friendly, welcoming and genuine! If we lived here, it'd be our hang out spot for sure!

This is a staple of Petaluma in an old, historic building. It is i loud, boisterous place. Great for happy hours and get-togethers. I came for an early dinner. I ordered the ribeye with a side salad. The ribeye was huge and I couldn't eat it all. Cooked the way I wanted and the mashed potatoes and salad were a wonderful accompaniment. The server was friendly and attentive.

Came here on a Friday for their special menu! I tried the prime ribs and it's definitely beyond expectations! It's $35 for 12 oz (or maybe 14 oz?) which came with mashed potatoes, string beans and horseradish. It's a big plate and every bite is yummy! They have other specials on the menu that I definitely want to come back to try!

Guinness in a can sold as Guinness on draught without notifying customers. Violation of California ABC Business & Professions Code §25600

It's Friday night. I've been looking online for a while for places between Petaluma and Santa Rosa who serve a proper pint of draught Guinness. I've narrowed my search down to here and Goose & Fern. Haven't visited a restaurant in months because you know, the economy. Talk the wife into going out with the two year old and she prefers the menu here. We arrive, recommended to sit upstairs. We get upstairs, order two pints of Guinness and an appetizer. I watch the upstairs bar person crack two cans and pour them upside down. Waitress arrives, I ask what's going on and she says they only have draught downstairs, they can't run it from downstairs. I refuse the cans and talk to the hostess to get reseated downstairs and she says "let me make sure we have the draught working downstairs" - she talk to the bartender, we get seated. New waitress, she knows what's up, order and Guinness arrives. Tastes bitter with the copper twang from a can. Can't finish it, it's gross. Food is good, we spend maybe 20-25 min total at our table. Figured it's maybe a bad or end of keg. Receipt arrives after paying - boom two $8 "Guinness 14oz cans". Suspicions confirmed. What's weird is the beers filled a standard 20oz glass. The menu clearly states 20oz draft Guinness, only canned Guinness in the menu is the non-alcoholic. I may call the ABC to report on Business & Professions Code §25600 - False or misleading advertising or general consumer fraud concerns. Shady and misrepresenting what they are selling. Don't recommend. Won't be back.

    Happy customers!

Everyone was so very helpful... We had our monthly girls night out and the staff continue to serve us as we waited for all of our guest to arrive. I wanted to get the fish and chips because it always is a good meal! But I decided to get the fish tacos and absolutely amazing meal! I would totally go back for those again!

Late dining there is just ok for vegetarians I asked for a grilled cheese on sourdough with a burger set up on the side..., however, my meat eating counterparts enjoyed their food. It's a nice spot with club goers and rendezvouses ... look like we're had some folks getting cozy on the late night tip up in there. Great music, service was quick and efficient.

After a weekend in Sonoma county of wine and dine - NFL Sunday football games. We called at 9am before they are open and the phone was answered. "The early games would be shown here". Brandon greeted us at 10am and put on the games we were looking for. Juan took good care as the attentive waiter. No breakfast grub here and kitchen starts taking orders about 10:45am. Hot Pastrami sandwich was very good quality and minestrone soup fresh. Nice pickle spear on side. Family folks start coming in around 11:30. Kid friendly. Mimosa for grown folks. Thanks for being there for us with the games on! We will be back!

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The vibe is effortlessly chill, with whimsical decor--think antique lamps, an old record player, and lots of little details that make you want to look around. The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

The music-themed decor on the walls added a bit of character to the space. We sat ourselves at a table, grabbed a menu we saw sitting near the bar at the center of the venue, and found an employee walking around to place our food order. He was friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. It took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready which was kinda long, but after trying our dishes, it was totally worth the wait. The potato skins were like mini loaded baked potatoes, but fluffier and easier to eat. It was super cheesy and tastier than I expected, especially with the ranch and sour cream that came on the side. The classic pot pie was a large dish and quite filling, with plenty of sizable chunks of chicken and veggies mixed together nicely in a thick and flavorful roux. Not to mention the flaky buttery crust on top. Wow, I really liked this. And my bf finished every last bite of his grilled salmon dish, no complaints. The lemon drop cocktail was yummy, just the right sweetness and a good amount of alcohol without ruining the flavor. All in all, we had a 5-star experience at Torches and wouldn't hesitate to return.

This review is not a reflection of the restaurant's food, service, or dining experience. In November 2025 I purchased a $150 gift card through Central Market's website via Toast. The gift card was never received. I first reached out in February 2026 to inquire about the missing gift card. Tony responded the following day suggesting that I may have been scammed. After I clarified that the purchase was made directly through Central Market's website, he acknowledged that he had misunderstood, stated that this was a known issue, and told me he would contact Toast to investigate. March 2026: A month passed with no update whatsoever. I called the restaurant and spoke with Tony directly. He told me that I would need to contact Toast myself--a completely different answer from what had previously been discussed. April 2026: I informed Tony via email that Toast's customer service system specifically states that support is intended for restaurant businesses, not customers. I followed up again by email on 4/30 asking if he had received my message and whether there was any update. I have received no response since. What is most disappointing is the lack of clarity and consistency throughout this process. At various points, I was told I may have been scammed, then told it was a known issue that would be investigated, and finally told to resolve it myself through a company that does not provide support to customers in this situation. Not once was there a proactive update, clear explanation, or meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. More than five months after paying $150, I still do not have the gift card (which was intended as a Christmas present for a close friend), a refund, or even the courtesy of a response to my follow-up emails. When a business takes a customer's money, there should be some level of accountability when something goes wrong. At this point, I can only conclude that customer service is not a priority. The complete lack of communication and follow-through has left me feeling that my concerns--and my business--simply do not matter. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against purchasing gift cards through their website.
