Walk inside and you feel like you're at a cool party! Every bartender/ mixologist knows their stuff making well crafted cocktails. All the ingredients going in the drinks are quality. Griffo is fantastic with offering up both fabulous live music and DJ's. On nice days the warehouse door slides up offering more seating and quite often a tasty food truck. Additionally their spirits are offered to purchase there. I picked up a wonderful vodka, a gin as well as a delicious shrub syrup to add to cocktails. Kat from Griffos literally saved the day and some for our organization. We had plans to have our annual event fundraiser at another place in town. Though due to ownership changes we were told we no longer could have our event as planned and needed to find a new venue less than a month out from our large event. Without hesitation Kat said absolutely we will do whatever we can to accommodate you all. Rewind several months back and Kat reached out to me to see how we could collaborate. She wanted to ensure her space was welcoming, inclusive and a space that everyone, especially those in the LGBTQIA2S+ community knew they could come to and feel and be safe and have fun. With pre-planning for our event Kat was down to earth, easy going, personable and did all she could to try and say "yes" to all of our needs. She went out of her way to ensure that all of the kids at our event were safe and that there was space for everyone. This was my first time ever checking out this particular distillery and I was very impressed!! Not only did they have their own distillery area, but they also had a private walk-through you could do and a tour. Along with tastings, they had cocktails, whiskey, vodka, and some little snacks! There was one gentleman doing a tour when I arrived, apparently it was a private party before they opened. He said I could look around, and I was shocked by how big and spacious there lounge area was!! They also had a stage in the back, so I bet they have live bands that could perform and their service was great!! I love the different combos of cocktails and I loved their coffee martini!! I actually had a sample of it at a Yelp event last month along the peninsula! I met the owner there and he was incredibly friendly and outgoing and so was the other whiskey maker alongside of him. The gentleman that served me this particular Saturday was also very friendly and outgoing, as well as knowledgeable about the brewing styles and the history! Amazing distillery with great tastings of a variety of different spirits made on premises. The gin is devine and the premade Espresso Martini in a generous size bottle is fantastic and affordable. I made sure to get a few bottles of the martinis for game nights at my house. The gals and guys all loved it. I should have bought more. The tasting area is clean and loaded with charm and tempting products. Distillery equipment can be glimpsed through a window at the back adding to the small business ambiance. I joined their club. I had no idea this place existed for so long!! Went here tonight for drinks and drag trivia with a few friends and it was a great experience! There was a taco truck out front, and although I did not try them, they smelled heavenly. From the drink menu, I tried the Mulled Mule and it was delicious! It was one of the best mules I've had, and wasn't overloaded with ice like a lot of places tend to do. The only thing is that I wish it was a larger serving! Overall, we had a great night. This is a must-visit destination if you enjoy a well-crafted cocktail. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable about their products, and ingredients that go into their wonderful drinks. They use many local ingredients as well as some imported bitters and syrups. This was our second visit to this location, the last was back in 2022. They are constantly updating their drink options and are always happy the share the drink recipes. This time we tried out the Creole Old Fashioned, Smoked Tea Expresso Martini, and the Smooth Operator. We went in thinking that we would taste just two or three whiskeys, so we could buy something from our local purveyor. Katherine started pouring, and almost two hours later, we walked out with two boxes full of an amazing assortment of whiskeys, gin, vodka, coffee liqueur, and an entire bar's worth of bitters and syrups. Seriously - this was so much fun and better than any bar experience I've had in the last 10 years. The vibe and the dialogue were awesome. The cocktails, the recipes, and the chance to try everything on the shelf was priceless. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Drinks and chill is given a whole new meaning when drinking the cocktails and spirits being offered at Griffo Distillery. Located in an industrial area in northern Petaluma along Scott Street mere blocks from the main artery that is North McDowell Street, Griffo Distillery was founded by married duo Michael and Jenny, who took their passion for entrepreneurship and dream to work together into their own hands with their very own distillery, which officially set up shop here in Petaluma in 2015. Fifteen years from creation and eight years from establishment, Griffo Distillery is serving up some of the finest crafted and bottled gins, whiskeys, vodkas, and even coffee flavored liqueurs. With a friend, who has been a long time resident of Petaluma and a supporter and member of the Spirit Club of Griffo Distillery, really speaking about the virtues of visiting this local purveyor of all things spirits, wanting to sample their new chocolate and spirit tasting pairing that they were offering for 30 dollars a person, I was sold for a visit. We came on a recent weekend afternoon and upon checking in with our host Jamie we were sat in their open air warehouse, which was accentuated with a bohemian atmosphere with comfy sofas and chairs and hanging lights and curtains overhead. For our pairing, Jamie presents you with three handcrafted and painted chocolates, of which we learned that aspiring chocolatier Jamie created herself, along with three of their signature spirits and liqueurs. For our first pairing, we enjoyed their chili lime espresso chocolate which was paired with two of their whiskeys, their Stony Point Whiskey and their Stout Barreled Whiskey. Both whiskeys had an amazing aroma upon first whiff, and of the two, the Stout Barreled Whiskey was a little more subtle on the nose but coated your throat in a more sublime way. For our second pairing, we enjoyed a roasted pineapple caramel white coconut ganache, which was paired with their Barreled Gin. Here gin just shoots straight down your hatch, but when paired with their ganache, with caramel oozing out with every small bite you can make with such a small chocolate, this was definitely my favorite pairing of them all. For our third and final pairing, we enjoyed their Stony Point Whiskey bonbon, which was paired with their Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur. For this pairing, both the chocolate could be enjoyed separately or together and their Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur was my favorite of all of their spirits, as it was smooth without being overpowering. To be able to enjoy handcrafted chocolates with handcrafted and bottled spirits is something that I never knew I needed. Since we were enjoying the ambience of the vast tasting room, my friend and I decided to order from their cocktail menu, of which there were five handcrafted cocktails to choose from. I ordered their Persimmon Raspberry Sour which had persimmon vodka, raspberry gum syrup, soda water, and lemon. My friend ordered their Golden Pineapple which had vodka, vanilla bean syrup, lime, fresh pineapple, and soda water. I loved my cocktail, as it had a refreshing finish with a tangy kick of persimmon in every sip, while after sampling my friend's cocktail it was as if I was enjoying a Dole Pineapple Whip, as it was a juice-filled breezy beverage that was good to the last drop. Our total bill was $47.47 per person before gratuity was added in, which totaled to $94.94, and was broken down to the liqueur and chocolate tasting being $30 a person, and the cocktail being $13 a person, which was reasonable when one considers the overall enjoyment of our day and the uniqueness of our tasting. Griffo Distillery has certainly become a proud member of the local community in Petaluma, as they also have trivia nights on Thursdays and food pop-ups that take place on Fridays. Anyone can pop on right in an enjoy the ambience and a handcrafted cocktail, or one of their signature spirits to savor over because at Griffo Distillery they truly have something special occurring, as they have become a place where locals and out-of-towners alike can find some of the most distinctively crafted gins, whiskeys, vodkas, and liqueurs sold in the Bay Area. From a dream that a locally based couple had to build something together to becoming a mini-empire, Griffo Distillery is a business that we can marvel at and celebrate. read more

Stopped by here yesterday and really enjoyed it. We had a delicious cocktail and then went on a tour and did a tasting. All of the spirits were fantastic but my favorite was the vodka and cold brew. Highly recommend the cold brew. Strong coffee flavor with a perfect amount of sweetness. The tour was very informative and fascinating to learn about the modifications the owner has made to the equipment. My husband and I stopped by Griffo Distillery when we found ourselves in Petaluma for the day. It's only a few days after California's full reopening after the COVID lock down so the tasting room was not in full swing, however it was staffed. The young lady who was there was delightful, and helpful. We made a couple of purchases that were pretty safe bets such as the vodka and the cold brew liquor, and then some more adventurous items like the pineapple chili cocktail mixer and the smoked old-fashioned cocktail mixer. It was a fun little visit and we were the only ones there so we did not feel rushed or crowded in any way. It would be nice to go back to see what it's like when it's fully reopened and maybe check out one of their events which sound like a lot of fun. read more

If you're into tasting and drinking spirits this is your place! This place has great gins & whiskey's all ripe for the tasting as well as limited edition spirits. By the limited edition, for instance, they have, or maybe it's had by now, but anyways there's the Acre's Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, which I bought a bottle. And let me tell you it is delicious!! One that I wish I had known about (and this one is sold out) is the Belgium Hen Whiskey that was a partnership with Hen House Brewing. You can do a drop-in tour & tasting, purchase a tour & tasting through Groupon or do a private tour & tasting. The choice is up to you. If you're not interested in a tour you can drop in for a single tasting, a flight tasting or taste one or more of their hand crafted cocktails. I've done a flight tasting as well as tried their cocktails. I can highly recommend the Spicy Paloma and Pink Panther cocktails as they are delicious! Griffo's recently hosted a paint night on May 3rd hosted by Canvas & Wine. Rumor has it they might host this type of event once a month. I attended this event & it was a blast! I brought in bread sticks from Mary's Pizza, brought 2 high school friends, add to that a canvas, paints & Griffo's cocktails and it was the making of a fun & fabulous evening! They also host other events such as comedians. Check their website for dates & times. They don't have food to purchase but they do allow you to bring in outside food. This is a great place to do a tasting on your own or with friends, or just to stop by on your way home from work to grab a quick cocktail! Griffo Distillery is an absolute gem. They craft some of the finest and most original whisky, gin and vodka you will find anywhere. Yes, if you are reading this during the virus pandemic, you can pick up your booze at their store. I have never been a fan of whisky but I shared a bottle of the stout brewed batch they did and found it very enjoyable and really original. The more die hard whisky friends in my group really took to it - it was supposed to last a few nights but, well... The gin is fantastic, I love how it is not heavy like many gins that can seem almost thick and frankly repulsive. This one is quite tasty and works terrific with all kinds of cocktails. I most recently started a bottle of the vodka which is also fantastic - it says limited run so who knows how much longer they will have it - super refined very crisp and friendly, awesome! They have lots of events throughout the year and are really active locally in supporting the town - a model of an ethical and engaged small business. read more

Griffo is small, but fun. They host tours of the distillery, and they also do tastings of the spirits they have. It's extremely affordable to drink here, and they are noted for having the 2016 Gold Medal gin winner, so that's reason enough to come. The interior only seats about 10, but I'm guessing it's never so packed that you can't sit and have a tasting or a cocktail. The refreshing Tomales Collins with its juniper berries are a must, and if you have a little spending money, that award-winning gin is a good idea too. read more

These peeps are amazing. I work for a non profit called PEP HOUSING we are a low income senior apartment company. We have many complexes all over Petaluma and Northern California. We needed hand sanitizer Immediately. We went to them and we got ourself some hand sanitizer. After that I was informed they are donating 96 gallons to PEP for our seniors.
