I drive a 2024 Subaru Outback with less than 35,000 miles. I went in for an oil change around noon today (January 21, 2026). Drove from downtown Lubbock location to a business near 34th and Ave Q. After about an hour, I drove home (about 10 miles). Smoke was coming from under the hood when I pulled into the driveway. I raised the hood to see oil everywhere! The oil cap was not put on. Checking the oil, the motor has no oil WHATSOEVER. The manager sent a wrecker to pick up the car and assured me he would "make it good". I am elderly and extremely distressed over this situation. Is my engine ruined? Will the oil pressure hold? I am posting this because I want citizens and businesses to be aware of how a simple oil change may very well affect their engine AND potentially a very large expense for themselves. I am talking a trip out of town and pray Our Father God will watch over me and remedy this situation. read more

I pulled up to my RV spot only to realize I had a giant hole in my tire on my RV. I called and they said..we have your tires and will send someone out in an hour. That they did and they were able to work on everything without me moving my RV..fully mobile! They were quick and reasonably priced and knew tires! Credit to the mechanic who encouraged me to look for the part elsewhere, but this rating goes to his boss, who tried to tell me the dealership wanted a high price for a car part. Went to the dealer the next day and picked it up for $300 less than what McWhorter's claimed -- an almost 270% markup. Won't be back. read more

I came and left my car overnight for a wheel alignment and for it to be picked up the next day after work. The reason I was doing this is because I have a long trip ahead that I am trying to get myself ready for, mind that I work 1.5 hours into the country side so I had to take time off of work both times to be able to make it to Goodyear during working hours. One of the desk persons that assisted me was an older man, he didn't have a friendly attitude, he was arrogant and acted as if he was one of the people that run the place, whatever I am just trying to get my car fixed. When I came the next day the person that led the alignment on my car was the arrogant older man. He had mentioned in a call earlier that day that there was an issue with my passenger front tire and it was not possible to align it properly because of the car being damaged by hitting curves or pot holes. Totally true, I come from NY and unfortunately have run through many pot holes. Therefore I wanted to speak with him to know about the possible solutions, he was in a phone call for a while and I didn't have the chance to talk to him (He did even mention he will take a while). I got checked out by someone else and had to ask for one of the technicians to come and help me understand the alignment that was performed and how to fix the issue.  I paid $90, I got my explanation and then I left. I got in my car, and weirdly the fuse plastic diagram, the one that is usually in a compartment under the steering wheel was out in the passenger seat. Didn't think much of it and turned on the car, pull the driver window down and when I pressed the button for the passenger window to go down it didn't. I reached out to the button in the passenger door panel and it didn't go down either. Turned off the car and decide to go inside to see what had happened because when I left the car a day before both windows were working just fine. I went inside and arrogant man was off the phone and I approached him. I told him what the situation was and what I have encountered. He responded by shrugging his shoulders and saying that he was sorry but it wasn't his problem. Wow, Really? I expected this issue not to be a big deal at all, it's just a window. However, this response was unacceptable, how is it that I dropped my car off with a window working and after leaving it under his hands for a day the window doesn't work, and he is telling me that he is not even going to look into the issue. Well, somebody knew about the issue because they took the fuse diagram out and left it on the passenger seat.  After arguing about the situation for a few minutes he said he didn't care. Really? Is this really the way they handle discussions when customers find non-working systems in their cars that were originally working? I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with arrogant man, he was acting as if he was the one that actually performed the work on my car and knew exactly everything that got touched within the car. He didn't want to reach out to any of the technicians to verify the situation. Fine, let me talk to your manager, you are a very close minded person and I don't want to continue arguing with someone that is not trying to be reasonable. The manager in the meantime had made his way closer and was currently standing right to his side, so he takes charge of the conversation and arrogant man falls into the background.  Once again I explain the situation from the very beginning, he agrees to look into the car but he gives me a real clear disclaimer. If they take the car in and take stuff apart and they find issues that were not related to the work performed (alignment) I will be charged for the extra labor. Well, of course is not related! what does the passenger window have to do with a wheel alignment? So now I'm indecisive if I want them to touch my car again because regardless of what I say they can end up charging me more. We continue discussing this point specifically because I don't feel they are taking ownership of whatever wrong doing caused the window to not work. They are just basically selling me a service once again, they broke something and if I can't prove it was them, then I must pay for their services again. This is nonsense! The manager says then: "we are wasting time arguing, you want us to look at your car or no?" After thinking what to do for a while I decide to go with it, in an attempt for them to fix the issue. But then... They can't do it at the moment, it has to be the next day (yeah it was around 5:00pm and they close at 5:30). Well I can't get out work earlier the next day, and as I mentioned I am in the process of getting ready for a big trip, I don't have another day to waste, especially having the uncertainty and distrust of leaving my car with them after such situation. I have never placed a review for a business before, but had to express my appreciation for MCWhorters in Lubbock, Texas! My daughter attends Texas Tech and had a flat tire. I am 6 hours away and not much help. I called McWhorter's and spoke to Jim, I texted him pictures of the tire and information on the car. They went to the school my daughter was student teaching at, took off the tire, took it back to the shop put a new one on balanced it, returned to the school and replaced the tire. The car was already when my daughter finished her day of student teaching. I can not thank them enough for helping us. Jim was so nice and kind, he made me feel very comfortable and relieved that my daughters car was in good hands. In his words, "we try to watch out for our Tech students". Exceptional service. The price was very reasonable and much less than I expected with the remote off site visit and door to door service. Thank you Jim, thank you McWhorter's and Go Tech! read more

The Frankford location provided terrible service. This facility literally charged me double the cost for a standard wheel alignment and the results were terrible, my car how drives semi straight while the steering wheel constantly tilts to the right ~5-10 degrees and was told only AFTER the work was completed that it included no warranty. As insult to injury I personally overheard the mechanic who worked on my vehicle tell the employee working the register "it's bad, really bad" as he passed him the keys to my car not knowing I was the owner. I would never take my vehicle to this facility again and would strongly suggest that you seek another facility if you are presently considering this one. read more
