Scam! DO NOT BUY!!! Bought them nearly a year ago WITH their worthless warranty coverage. One of the two didn't work. I called and was on hold for 48 minutes at which point they "announced" the call was being terminated and I should "try again later." By the time I made my second attempt to call the other hearing aid failed to charge. This time I waited 35 minutes on hold until I had to hang up. My third attempt was a month or so later and I was on hold 15 minutes before I again had to go. Nearly a year later "Matt" called to say by credit card was expiring. I explained everything that had happened. He said he could help me with the issues right then. Of course the hearing aids weren't charged so I asked if he could "schedule" me for that help. Of course, he was silent because they wouldn't. Bottom line, hundreds of dollars, NO ACCOUNTABILITY from MD Hearing and not even one day of use from these worthless hearing aids. Tried the in-ear NEO model. Had trouble with feedback and MD replaced them with Volt. They amplified well but did nothing to clarify so only minimally improved hearing. Just a few days after warranty expired one of them would no longer charge and is completely useless. Glad I only wasted $300. read more

I purchased a pair about 18 months ago. They worked OK, but then I could not get the wax guard off of one of them. The warranty had expired and I could not buy just one, had to buy a pair. It took about 6 weeks of emailing back and forth and finally figured out I had to buy a complete set for $299.00 Customer service is horrible. I bought a pair of Audien Atom Pro 2 for about $95.00 on ebay. They work much better than the MD hearing aids. They have a lot more adjustment settings and I am very happy with the product. BEWARE - Buy anywhere else. 91 year old mother received poor-quality hearing aids when she needed them most for her hospital stay. She couldn't hear anything the doctors or nurses said. Multiple calls to MD Hearing Customer Service failed to resolve the defective hearing aids. When asked for a refund, they agreed but charged me $20 dollars to return their poor-quality product. Why should a customer pay a penny to return their junk? Good customer service would have waived the return cost as it was extremely inconvenient. Cheap price brings cheap product and customer service. read more

In addition, the number of customer complaints to the BBB is EXTREMELY high. Also check all the YELP reviews....WOW--TERRIBLE. I will also tell you that when you call them the sales people are really good BUT although you'll be impressed...it's all BOGUS....and outright claims which are FALSE. I bought a pair of these, and they work well! However the support is ratty, as is the biz model. This outfit always has a BS BOGO $299 sale. If you lose one (for example, due to the retainer plastic getting tangled in a mask and forgotten) and try to by another, you gotta buy a pair. I would've bought 1 for $150 - but the weaselly short sighted marketing plan made me research other brands. I bought a pair of Audien Atoms (not the Pro) from Amazon for $70 - they fit in-ear, and sound as good as the MD HearingAid. MD Hearing Aid isn't investing in engineering to get rid of the mask problem. And I could buy 4 sets of Audiens and still have money left over to spend at the cannabis shop. If I had to do over, I would NOT buy from MDHearing. I am going to return my "aids" - they are NOT hearing aids - they are sound amplifiers. My "aids" were supposed to come with a self-charging case. My brother has these same amplifiers and received his case. When I called customer "service" I got a person who just wanted to argue with me, instead of actually listening to my concerns. The customer service staff is argumentative, and unable to listen to your concerns. I've had these things for about 3 weeks. If THIS is an example of the "service" you get with MDHearing, your best choice is to go elsewhere. I have contacted MDHearing about this - no response. read more

The hearing aid had huge feedback so we're returning it. Not impressed with their RMA process. You must wait a MINIMUM of 21 days to call back. I'm now on the phone to the Returns Dept and waiting to get an RMA to send this back. Then, the automated line says that I can only leave a voicemail message. The recording was very unprofessional and made me think this was a scam. The best thing is to call back repeatedly until you reach a person. It took me 4 phone calls to return this. Now, they're saying that 21 days is tomorrow, but tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and the company will be closed until Monday. They will pull my phone recording to verify my claim that the company rep told me weeks ago to call back on 11/21. The reason why this is important is because they will charge a 10% restocking fee of $40. Not impressed. Why does this feel like a scam? read more

I ordered these "Volt +" hearing aids last month (October 1), and they arrived only 2 or 3 days later! I charged the first pair up overnight, and tried using them for the first time that next day, as well as for 5 more days over the next 10 days. One of the two hearing aids stopped working after 3 days, and in fact even after re-charging it will still not come on. Also, and even more importantly, when they did work they did NOT cancel noise whatsoever, but in fact increased the noise while NOT helping with hearing women's voices at the table I was sitting at. I actually heard an exhaust fan from behind a closed door in a bathroom located about 25' away MUCH LOWDER than anything else, yet I still could not hear my wife's voice sitting 3 feet away as that fan noise dawned out her voice! These aids may be great, but they have absolutely no noise canceling ability, but instead amplify all noise in the room far beyond amplifying any voices. I therefore decided to return them after about 20 days after receiving them, as they do NOT work for me. NEXT, I went to the invoice, where it states that if you wish to return your hearing aids within the first 45 days of use, then you must first call to get an RMA number. So I tried calling 5 or 6 TIMES over the next 10 days. Each time I called their automated phone system put me on hold for 20 to 30 minutes, and then an automated voice came on saying something like "no agents are available to take your call, please call again later". In between these numerous attempts to contact them by phone, I also sent them 2 e-mails requesting an RMA so I could return these hearing aids. From those 2 e-mails I received one boiler plate letter telling me to call for an RMA number, or return them without that number and be charged with a 20% restock. SO, this is OBVIOUSLY another one of those companies who has figured out that they can take advantage of people by making it impossible to communicate with them, and avoid adhering to their warranty and return policy! This left me no choice but to call my CC company and put in a dispute, which I just now did. Companies like this one give "online sales" companies a bad name, and makes me only want to buy online from Amazon or E-bay since company direct websites are sometimes guilty of this type of fraud. I am sure these hearing aids might work fine for someone who does not need a "noise canceling" feature, but they should NEVER claim that these have that feature to begin with! Even worse is to avoid your customers, but let them sit on hold for 30 minutes only to finally receive a message that no one is available to take your call, when you call them during their open hours! Shame on them for avoiding standing behind their products return and warranty policy! Another hard, insulting, inconsiderate and annoying lesson learned! If you choose to buy from this company after reading this then you are as big of a foul as I was! This company should be out of business!!! read more

As soon as the hearing aids arrived, I was disappointed in them to learn that they were much larger in size then normal hearing aids so had to return them right away and pay almost $10 for shipping. I asked them if they would pay for shipping because I thought they were misrepresented on their website, and they flatly said NO. I told them nowhere on their website does it mention the size, in fact it says they are very small and fit discreetly behind the ear. That is not true. If you are on a budget, or even if you are not, I highly recommend the MDHearing Aids. (I do not get free ones or $ for saying this!) For $600, I got two hearing aids that would have cost me $4,000-$10,000 elsewhere. Are the $600 ones as good as the $4-$10K? That I can't tell you. All I can say is that I am happy with my purchase. Perhaps, it's like cars. I can't afford a Mercedes, either, but I'm happy with my Prius. On my budget, the MDHearing Aids do what I need them to do. I can hear better and they are comfortable enough to wear all day. I purchased mine online through the website as their office is too far for me to go. If you go this route, you will need to get a hearing test done before you buy. Once you know what your hearing problem is, then you can call them and find out if the ones they offer will help you. I know they don't work for everyone, but if you are like me with "old age" hearing loss, they probably will. The customer service is awesome. I've called several times asking for help. Each time I got a live person who was VERY helpful. Highly recommended! read more

bought these and they did not work for me. they have a 45 day period to return them for a full refund. so i decided to return them after 30 days. they say you need a rma# to return them so i called for several days and would be on hold for 30 min. and then a recording would come on saying no agents were available to take my call and to call back later. this went on for several days. they also say to press 2 and u do not have to stay on line that they would call u back. did not happen. now if you return them without a rma# they charge you 20%. they are making money even if the hearing aids dont work for you. so dont do business with them as they are a ripoff. well after contacting bbb they finally got back with me and gave me the rma# to return for my refund. read more

I purchased two Lux hearing aids from MD Hearing Aid Co. I started with one and found that it did not help my problem. After about three weeks in the 45 day trial period, Dr. Porps suggested that it might be better to try two. I agreed and asked if she would approve an extension of my 45 day trial period until after November 27th when I had an audiology appointment. She approved extending the trial period until December 11th for both hearing aids. She and Mary had me try various combinations of program levels and volume to see if they would help. She asked me to provide them with my audiology test results and they would try to fine tune the hearing aids to best meet my needs. I had my audiology test yesterday and the audiologist said that the Lux hearing aids were not the proper devices for my needs. With a single phone call to Raymond, he immediately provided me with a return authorization with no questions asked. I wish the hearing aids would have worked for me. I think that MD Hearing Aid company is a wonderful company. I would strongly recommend them and their concerned professionals to anyone who needs hearing aids. Have been doing research and found this site and really thought it was a great option. Gave them a call because I could not find any warranty info listed and wanted to know how long the company covered this hearing aid. A rep named David took my call and refused to answer my question. He kept talking in circles- meaning he gave me the complete runaround. Spoke to him on speaker-phone with my entire family listening and he refused to answer the simple question; "what is the warranty on this hearing aide?" Instead, he kept promoting the $9.99 insurance plan. I asked him how long I needed to pay that for and he said for as long as you have the hearing aid, and then he added the life-span of the aid was about 6 years. Let's see- 12 months a year multiplied by 6 years = 72 months. At $9.99 a month- that's like paying an extra $720 for warranty coverage when most other reputable hearing aid sites offer a min. 3 year warranty. The discount on the front end of this hearing aid is made up by paying for a warranty that should be included for at least a few years. Consumers should buy from a company that stands behind their own product. It's far better to pay a little more for hearing aids that provide a solid warranty. When pushed to provide a direct answer to my warranty question- David stated there was a "manufacturers 90 day warranty." It speaks volumes that MD Hearing Aid only has faith in their product for 90 days. It is obvious junk. Add to this the fact that David was so argumentative about providing that info, it felt like it was a SCAM. I wasn't even a customer yet- but I had credit card in hand to buy- and his argumentative attitude completely pushed me away. Several people in the room just told me to end the call with him- which I did. Do your research before buying. A company that believes they have a good product will back it up- and they will also employ reps who know how to interact with potential clients in a polite, helpful, and informative manner. I bought these as a backup for my super-expensive hearing aids. The MD's aren't as good, of course, but they are a heck of a lot less expensive and they're practically as good. I recommend them to anyone as a backup set, and to someone who has moderate hearing loss, I think they would do quite nicely as a primary hearing aid. read more

The quality of the "FIT" was the basic issue. I know that exceptions can be made to policies about trial policies. This company chose to keep my money. When a device clearly does not perform, MD Hearing wants you to carry on (**and get the calendar to run out**) while you "consult" with their staff about various settings and dome sizes. Others have caught on to this scheme (I've seen reviews at BBB, etc.; I am not going to re-read the postings here at YELP--too depressing). It was really a case of "too bad sucker; we've already got your money. read more
