If i could give this place negative starts I would. Not only did they keep telling me that I had a deductible plan, but they also told me I owed a $250 fee that I have never been asked for. I then had one of the ladies at the front desk lie to my face saying she was on the phone with "the head medical insurance lady of broward" and "aetna" when really it was her supervisor!! When i confronted her about it, she lied again, until she said "oh well then i mustve mispoke". Wait until her supervisor sees this review. I was also called "condensding" because I told the lady she should call her supervisor back so we could all talk and get this figured out. Do not come here, go to Baptist up the street. This is the second time that I've been here. Both times for my elderly mother who fell down. I don't know why they have a bad rating I've had great experiences during both visits. The xray tech was really nice. During the first visit, I appreciated that they told me to get a copy of the films on CD so that we could bring it to a specialist. They also provided a copy of the radiology report. The tech was very gentle with my mother who had trouble laying down on the hard table and also getting up. This recent visit was no different. The NP who we saw was awesome and the xray tech was the same person who remembered my mother from her first visit. Hopefully my mother doesn't fall again, but if she does, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

I went to MD Now Urgent Care for symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection with a low grade fever. I was pleased with the care I received and how I was treated, but I went back the following day because I felt worse and my temperature was higher. The PA on this 2nd visit was Sheron Walcott. My spouse was with me and was very concerned about me. My spouse voiced her concerns and asked questions. Sheron was rude and belligerent, started speaking rapidly with pressured speech and pretty much told my spouse to shut up because I (the patient) am competent to speak for myself. I was actually quite ill and appreciated my spouse speaking up for me, but Sheron would not allow it. She berated and belittled my spouse. Sheron did what was supposed to be a 15 minute COVID/flu test. We waited much longer than that. My spouse left the exam room to see what was going on and found Sheron just sitting at the counter. My spouse asked asked about the test results and was given a curt and evasive response. Only with persistence from my spouse did Sheron get up & check for the results. No one, especially a sick person, should be treated this way. The similarities in the YELP review by Sal S. from approximately 1 month ago are astounding and confirms to me that her behavior was not an isolated instance but more likely Sheron's routine way of interacting with patients. The visit was truly a waste of time, energy, & resources. The next morning I woke up with a high fever. Although I made an appointment at 5:15 arrived at 5 o'clock it took until 527 to be called up to the desk to be told they will charge me my co-pay for a free Covid test because I had symptoms. She said "Incase I need a prescription because it's cold & flu season" So I left. Covid test is supposed to be free they're just trying to make some money charging your co-pay on top of the test. Should be an option if I want to see a doctor or just get a Covid test which is all I made the appointment for in the first place was to test did not want to see a Dr She says in case I need a prescription well how would she know if I need a prescription until the Covid test came back positive or negative in the first place. There is no prescription for Covid, cold or flu! So I don't understand the need for any prescriptions today. Definitely not coming back here again. They could have STARTED with you'll have to pay your $65 copay for your free Covid test and I would have just left instead of sitting 30 minutes in a crowded waiting room. You have to make an appointment online however once you arrive and check in they tell you the appointment time does not matter however many people are here before you will be seeing before you. Let me preface this by saying I am allergic to penicillin and I am breastfeeding. This place SCREAMS insurance fraud! I was here on Sunday to get checked for Strep since my daughter had it as my throat was sore. Culture was negative but dr said she would give me a ZPac. I declined because I figured it wasnt strep and I am breastfeeding and didn't want to mess with my supply. The next night I got so much worse. I couldn't continue like this with a high fever and sore throat. Called them back not even 48hours after my initial appointment to see if they could call me in the ZPac. This is literally the only thing I can take and that was already prescribed. THEY CALLED IT IN AND THEN CANCELED IT AND TOLD ME I NEEDED TO COME IN AGAIN. I pleaded with them that I was sick in bed and couldn't come in. But nope! So I came in again and what did they just call me in again. A freaking ZPac! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST! DISGUSTING HOW THEY TREAT THEIR PATIENTS BUT NO WORRIES THEY ARE GETTING THEIR MONEY FROM MY INSURANCE. read more

Came in at 2:05 for a job drug test. There were 4 people in here. It is now 3:30 and everyone has been seen including 5 more that have walked in. We are still waiting. Approached the front desk to see if my daughter could just have the same cup and was told she had to pee in front of the nurse but there went to lunch and hasn't returned... ummm? The lobby is empty. No one else to be seen. I guess there are no other nurses in the back. This is ridiculous. Also, the receptionist has been on 4 personal calls in the last 30 minutes. the MAs & nurses were amazing but the PA, Sheron Walcott, was pretty rude and in my opinion incompetent. I have both Covid and the flu right now so to say the least I'm very sick and this lady kept talking down to me like I was a moron or doing something wrong. No sick person should be made to feel these ways. The test was a rapid antigen those take 15 minutes, I wasn't seen for an hour after my test. I heard new PTs come and go while I waited. When finally seen she seemed annoyed with me and it felt as though she was insinuating I was there to get drugs to get high like I was a junkie or something despite seeing how visibly ill I was and having my results in front of her. I also made it clear I just wanted something to alleviate my symptoms. This PA should not be employed in the medical field if she treats patients like this. I say all of this as a former EMT who has worked alongside many PAs and even had one from the ER as a business partner in Covid testing during the entire pandemic, but this is just plain sad. I was seeing upwards of 200 patients a day in an 8 hour window at some of my testing locations and never once got anyone their results an hour late. This clinic was also not busy at all. I was ignored for an hour. I was visibly not doing too well, drenched in sweat and coughing with a fever. When I didn't understand something because she wanted to speed talk and suddenly go fast after ignoring me for an hour she got upset with me like I was playing games. She then left me in that room for another 20 minutes and forgot me again, I had to leave and go talk to the MA to get my paperwork. I made a yelp purely to write this review. This is abhorrent and disgusting. I wouldn't want my family or anyone I care about under this persons care, personally. I went to MD Now in December when I needed a PCR test because I was pretty sure I had covid. I was happy that they had plenty of seating, a clean waiting room, and a self-serve refrigerator with bottled water. There was a sign hanging up that masks were required but there were a few very loud/vocal people who sat out of the line of sight of the check-in window & were not wearing masks and ranting about government conspiracies and trying to engage other customers in a debate. I filled out my info on a tablet & was very happy when I was called to go back for a test after 1 2/2 hours. My PCR test took less than 10 minutes and I was on my way. I got my results in about 48 hours. Everything was as expected during my first visit. I went for a 2nd test 3 days later with my husband. It was a Saturday and the wait in the office was again about 1 1/2 hours. We were actually called back together and we were out of the facility in about 2 hours. We received our results in just over 48 hours again. So far; so good! In hopes that we would test negative we went to MD Now again at 8:00 a.m. on Christmas morning. This time it was my husband, my adult daughter, and me. (Our hopes were that if any of us tested negative we could visit other family members and celebrate Christmas in a day or 2.). When we arrived, exactly at 8:00, there were already about 15 people ahead of us. (This was the only place I knew of that said they'd be open on the holiday.). They were letting about 5 people at a time inside the building. We went inside after about 2 hours; and by then the line was past the end of the building. We were out within 2 hours 15 minutes; not bad for a Christmas morning. We were told that due to the increased numbers of covid testing; results are now taking 3-4 days. That was fine....however my husband and daughter both got their results in 3 days; but no results for me. I tried sending a message online on the MD Now website, and I tried calling. After about 20 minutes on hold; I had an answer from a call center. The representative tried calling the Plantation location & she said no one answered, so she left a message for someone to call me back. It has now been a week since I tested....NO RESULTS & NO CALL BACK. I am aware the lab could have lost my results, but I still should have received a call back from MD Now. Seeing as it is an urgent care facility and about 99% of the people there were getting Covid tests, I would think they would have a little more organization. I guess next time I will be trying a new place, and hopefully getting a more consistent level of customer service! read more

We went in for a Covid test and I had my insurance card in my electronic wallet on my iPhone. The front desk lady said that due to HIPAA compliance she could not take it but this time she would "make an exception".... Might want to look into it next time you go tell someone that because it is 100% wrong. Don't act as if you're doing someone a favor by doing your job just because it requires an extra step for you. These people were extremely rude to everyone that crossed that door, they talked about their hours and being overworked- listen I get it but if you hate your job then quit and get a different one instead of making people miserable with you negative attitude. I came in to get an x-ray of my shoulder and was waiting forever in extreme pain.Told the "attendant " not sure they are even nurses that I wasn't sure if it happened at work so then they bring me in the room and the next "attendant " says she can't help me unless I want to file under workman's comp and in that case I have to pay over 400$ today... I was in so much pain I said this is rediculous and I want your supervisor name. They still never refunded my copay and wasted my time. I must say that I am really disappointed with the company. I visited the location on 11/12 with flu symptoms. The office staff and doctor in charge were really nice. I tested negative for Covid and flu. Doctor said I didn't need antibiotics. I called back the next day with sinus infection as my mucus discharged was dark green. I was told that in order to get prescribed needed to pay the $75 fee again. I mean I was just there yesterday. I think that's totally wrong. But anyway will make sure not to go there ever again and tell my friends and family members. read more

I waited today 4 hours before I was called back. They did not call people back in the order in which they were signed in. There were no major emergencies that would cause the change of the admissions protocol. When I asked why they did not call people back in the order that they signed in, they did not give me a legitimate explanation. Plus X-rays we're taken that were totally unnecessary for providing a Covid test. My X-rays and Covid were negative so I was given an Rx for antibiotics to prevent the infection from getting into my lungs, since I am prone to contracting pneumonia. read more

Originally gave this place 5 stars after leaving. Experience at the clinic was good, but they forgot to call in our prescription. We waited five hours went into the pharmacy and it still wasn't there. I had to call them and they finally called it in. We had to wait an additional hour cuz the pharmacy was backed up. And the thing that compounded the problem was not being able to call the location directly, every time I wanted to call them I had to call the call center wait on hold for a while just to be transferred to the clinic itself. read more

Went in for Paxlovid prescription with a positive Covid test. PA Nicole Offenberg refused to write prescription for me even though I have several high risk factors. It is 2024, this is a CDC recommended treatment to reduce severity of Covid - she acted like I was asking for pain pills. I spent an hour and a half there and $75 co-pay to leave with nothing. Ended up getting the prescription from CVS.com without even having to see a doctor. Do not waste your time or money going here. Front desk staff would not let me speak to a manager. Convent location and operating times. Staff is very friendly and work fast to het you in. Office is always super clean. I only go there when I knoow I just have a cold or flu for prescriptions. You never know what doctor is there and you will probably never see tHe same doctor aGain. So I prefer to see my regular doctor but for a quick uncle visit this place I is fine. If your insurance is an issue or lack of it then this place is good. They offer all Kinds of testing and have X-ray machines etc. so for a walking urgent care it's good. Only downside is not being able to see the same doctor regularly there. read more

Needed an x-ray, this place sent me all around south Florida to other locations (5 locations to be exact) because they were too busy to see me. 6 hours of location changing/driving/waiting later and I end up back here because someone called and asked if they were available to do x-rays and they said yes. I waited for 2.5 hours in the waiting room and when I was finally seen by the nurse he went on to complain about his day and explained to me how he's the manager and he's not supposed to be working but other people don't show up, general complaining and whining while here I am still just trying to be patient. He places me in a room, closes the door and I proceed to wait there without being checked on for an additional two hours. At this point I've been waiting on an x-ray from them for 11 hours. The doctor comes in and explains I've been there longer then her shift has even been(as if that's what I want to joke about) (and about how they're understaffed) and then proceeds to tell me that she is too busy to do an x-ray and they're about to close and she has too many patients in the waiting room. Said keep wearing your brace and prescribed me 8 600 mg ibuprofen. I wasn't looking for drugs or to brushed off I wanted to make sure my wrist was ok and that I didn't do anything further to hurt it more... Update I went to the ER and it is a fracture. The doctor seems nice but nobody here has the time for you or your situation. Worst experience ever and I paid $100 to be told to f*ck off essentially after 11 hours of waiting. read more

I was very pleased with the professionalism and competence of this office. I had just left another brand of walk-in clinic ( Peters and Univ.) that was far inferior to this one. I was glad the competitor could not accommodate me. Everyone was very nice and compassionate for my well-being. My only shock and disappointment was in my follow-up discharge paperwork via email I was also given an alcoholism questionnaire. During my triage questioning I was asked how many drinks I had per week. Not that that mattered to diagnose my bronchitis, but I answered honestly that I had 4-5 drinks per week. Apparently I need counseling according to their guidelines. I find it invasive that they felt compelled or entitled to send me an alcohol evaluation form in my follow-up paperwork with the pulmonologist referral. read more

Federal in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday morning....not knowing really what to expect, I was greeted warmly by office staff, which had to help me with the sign in procedure, not being that tech as a senior. I was brought back in a timely manner, and assessed by PA, had vitals taken, and described chief complaint. ( I had jabbed a Q-tip of all things through my ear canal, not paying attention...) I initially went to the CVS minute clinic off 17th Street ( what a joke that was, when they told me it was just bruised and will heal in time) wanting a second opinion, I went to the MD NOW...not only did I leave with antibiotics needed and something for the pain, the doctor also treated my poor breathing with a ZPAC, and secondary antibiotic...along with a preventive inhaler too. I was VERY IMPRESSED overall, with the cleanliness, and professionalism shown. I WOULD DEFINITELY return. Granted, I know Urgent Care facilities treat acute, and chronic illnesses, knowing in advance, if I had sawed off a finger, such a place wouldn't likely be the best equipped to handle that kind of trauma. Also, people need to understand that such places exist for the NON emergent, but serious enough cases to go to. I have religiously gone to ERs whenever I had a problem...spent hours there, even half the day. I'm so HAPPY to say, there are great alternatives with AMERICAN doctors on staff ( I'm not racist, but tired of seeing our countries doctors that come from other countries, that WE ALL pay for their education to practice medicine. ) In all, I highly Recommend MD NOW at 195 N Federal, Ft Lauderdale. read more

Hubby recently fell and figured he'd deal with the pain from the fall. Like many men, he's big and brawny, has taken plenty of hits on the football field, and thinks he can just 'walk off' pain. He tried to get an appointment with our orthopedist and primary doctor but couldn't' get in. Our primary doctor's office told us to go the the ER to get xrays, since it'd be needed for a diagnosis. Hubby didn't want to go because of the cost of time and money. Meanwhile, his pain cast a shadow on every day since he fell, and stopped us from going to the Chihuly exhibit in Miami, as we planned. Today the lightbulb finally went off in my head - what about an urgent care center? Do any of them have xray equipment? (My past experience led me to think that they were for basic diagnoses and that they didn't have medical equipment.) I Googled "urgent care AND xray AND Plantation" and saw MDNow, "open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year"! When I called up I found out that we didn't need an appointment and that they accept our Aetna insurance. Score! About 20 minutes later we were in their office and filling out a one page questionnaire and providing signature to a HIPAA doc. There wasn't a book of forms! Hubby was taken to a triage area for intake, then to an exam room where he met with the doctor, had an Xray that the onsite radiologist read, and saw the doctor again to get his diagnosis and treatment plan. Well, no wonder hubby hurt - he has a hairline fracture in his ribs...and soreness along the black and blue marks from his shin to his torso. (They're sending his films out to confirm their diagnosis so there's a QA process.) Rx in hand, we left, so happy to have received medical care! The whole experience was great! There's a CVS in the same lot so we just drove across the lot and filled the prescription...easy, peasy! About the office: The people on the phone and front desk were pleasant and friendly. The physician and radiologist were professional and kind. The equipment is spanking new and clean. The waiting room is well-decorated and has two large flat screen TVs and a wine cooler type refrigerator filled with cold bottles of water. The bathroom is brilliant, especially for an office where sick people visit! When you close the door the light automatically goes on, the toilet flushes by itself, the soap dispenser releases soap via motion detector, the water goes on and off the same way - and the water continues to flow for as long as your hands are under the faucet so you can wash for as long as you're supposed to, the towel dispenser shoots out a long piece of paper towel by way of motion too. This is how you stop the spread of germs!! The only thing you have to touch is the door handle - and like most people, I used the paper towel to turn the knob and then tossed the paper towel in the trash can that has a large opening on top so there's no need to touch the lid! Brilliant! They treat adults and kids with these services: xray, lab, IVs,EKGs, ultrasound and physical therapy, immunizations and vaccinations, stitches and even minor surgery! Patients can get their lab results online too. MDNow has 8 offices in each Broward and Palm Beach counties and about to open their 9th office in each county. (They have 2 in Miami Dade and about to open 1 more there too.) Hubby's on the mend, now knows what's wrong with him, and has medicine to usher him back to feeling well. If there is a 'next time' we will know to go to MDNow for quick and professional care. We just got our first lesson of 2015! UPDATE: They really do QA their radiology assessment. The radiologist called a few days later to say the xrays actually showed several fractured ribs and they recommended a CT scan. Hubby had a CT scan a day later and it showed he fractured 6 ribs but had no organ damage/bleeding. His treatment plan remains the same. read more

I waited in line to ask to use restroom and the girl looked at me and said "your already checked in". Didn't even ask me what I needed.. Front desk rude when I asked if they knew estimated time since I have waited for an hr before I even asked. All they care about is the Covid stuff, don't come in with anything else or your not see as important. I get more upset about the having someone be so rude to me thank anything else. read more

After speaking with my health plan regarding Covid testing, they have mdnow as one of the sites so I made an appt and got there a few minutes early. The clerk said it will probably be over an hour wait although the waiting room had 6 people. I asked if I was a walk in versus appt , would it have made a difference?
