True, mom and Pop shop. Support local businesses! I tried to place my order online. Not sure if it was my connection or their website, but it wasn't working out. So, I pivoted and decided to pick up the phone and call in an order. I was taken a back when I called to order and was told that they'd have to call me back to confirm the order. Perhaps they get a lot of prank orders with so many schools nearby. I didn't mind, I understand it's hard for small businesses right now. Anyway, they called me back and confirmed my order and told me to pick up in 15 minutes. Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted by name and was made to feel really welcomed in the space. It made me really happy to have placed my order here rather than a chain pizza place because the staff seemed like family and made me feel like a part of theirs. They were really thankful for my business and we parted ways. The hot Hawaiian was a treat. It was indeed on the hot side but enjoyable nonetheless. The garlic cheese bread was delightful. Both items may require some tums afterwards if you're like me and approaching a certain age but live good tasting food. read more

We went to Me and Ed's for hubby's birthday. He used to go to me and Ed's in Fresno and when we saw there was one in Richmond we decided to check it out for old time sake The service was good. The staff was friendly and attentive. The shops itself was what you would expect for a pizza parlor. The tables were clean. The music was bopping. Our 21 month granddaughter rocked out. The group (4 people + baby) shared a family size thick crust classic combo. They weee thrilled they got the thick crust. The pizza was tasty. I had a gluten free valley vegi. The toppings were great. There was a lot of vegetables: broccoli, red bell peppers, onions, artichoke and olives. The crust however was tough and hard. Hopefully microwaving the left overs will improve the texture. These people are phenomenally nice and gracious. The food is what you would hope for from Me-n-Ed's (people from the Central Valley will know what to expect that are looking for a taste of familiarity). The tables and floors were clean. Anyways back to this place. Yeah I still stop by here from time to time when I passing through the east bay where I was raised. Me n Ed's is a family friendly pizzeria that makes great pizza to enjoy for dinner or lunch. They used to have a salad bar but with the pandemic it's been on hold and will probably never see it again. Many tables to sit and enjoy your pizza with a few TVs to watch a game or news. If you're in a rush they have pre made slices that you can order and it'll be ready in 5-7 mins. Otherwise you can order a fresh pie. Located off Klose Way and Fitzgerald Drive it sits near the Century theatre so there's plenty of parking and shops to walk off the calories if you feel guilty afterwards. My first visit I was so happy to have found a great pizza spot here in the Richmond area AND it's family owned. My second experience wasn't quite the same experience (original review below) and upon reading my review, the owner was considerate & kind enough to reach out to me directly. He explained that I ordered a regular pizza and that inside the restaurant they offer New York style Thick Crust Pizza, long story short he gave me a free pizza on the house. I have not always had the best experiences with pizza at this Me-n-Ed's. After a few times of trying it over the years I always left feeling like my food was just okay. The service however is always great and this time was no different (Shenal A. was great and he handled the lunch rush by himself) . The restaurant itself was also clean. I came in around 3pm the other day. the crust was crisp but kind of bland sauce. the soda machine is right were the casheir opening is and so people line up, he put my cup down and said here is your drink and the soda fountain is right there while another customer is shoulder to shoulder. First review of 2021....Late to the party, but glad I made it. Let's talk about pizza for a moment and how it's not my favorite food, but when I want it, I want it done right. "Me-N-Ed's" isn't a pizzeria that skimps on quality. So often now in days you would go to a pizza joint and the experience is more on the.."Meh" level. Not here, they're on the "Yea" level. But the trouble I'm facing is to determine, what style of pizza they make here. I feel NYer's would approve of the pizza they make here, as well as Californians and Chicagoans. I name the three because these places all have a style of pizza making on their own, but this place is really is kinda in a league of it's own. So as to not keep going on and on, let me tell you why "Me-N-Ed's" is really a new favorite pizzeria of mine. "Me-N-Ed's Pizzeria" Location - Richmond, Ca Food - 2 Slices of Pepperoni Sausage pizza Price - $4.50 each Me- N-Ed's: 'Me and Ed's" is one of the few pizza places that I can say is making me a "Pizza Person" and that's what's strange to me. If most of you know me by now, I'm very specific about the foods I eat and especially when it comes to pizza among things. Here they seem to always have super fresh pizza because they sell it so fast. And with the quality of the pizza they make here, you're really getting some good pizza. What I look for in the rare occasions when I do eat pizza is a good cheese pull and a fresh pizza pie. I am happy to say that they have all that going on here and after not having been to my spots in SF in a good while since the current narrative started, this is my scapegoat. On the slices they serve here, mine in particular being the "Pepperoni and Sausage", The slices are hot and fresh and a pretty nice size, NYer's I think would really approve of what they're offereing here. The cheese blend they use here has a really nice pull without coming fully off the slice of the pizza and the ingredients are super fresh. And if you're not a meat eater, or gluten free eater, they also have you covered here. The pizza is some of the best pizza I can say that I've had the pleasure to partake in, and I rank it now in my top 10 pizza joints in the Bay Area. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not a diehard pizza guy, but when I want it, I want the good stuff. The serve all the good stuff here. Overall; I would say that "Me-N-Ed's" had a unique style of their own but it works for them. I would also highly recommend them if you just so happen to be in the area. I've been twice and haven't been dissapointed on nither visit. I one day plan to buy a whole pizza pie from them just to be able to share with people who I've mentioned this place too. Nice little spot. Looked like they were painting. Pizza crust could've been cooked a little longer, it was white on the bottom and a little doughy. For being a specialty pizza offering it was a little disappointing and pricey but good flavor. I asked to eat there but they made my food togo. Then left it sitting on the counter until another employee noticed and had me go grab my food. So i had to ask for plates napkins and they gave me cheese packets. Pizza was stale, they don't follow their websites deals. The owners son has a lack of customer service skills are terrible. They did not make my pizza fresh. This place has been here a long time and I've lived here all my life and never tried it until now. A friend recommended this place so I thought why not. We ordered a large pizza and some hot wings. It was just okay. I really wanted to like it but I don't know if it was worth $52. Everything was bland. If it was under twenty bucks I would just eat it and move on and not come back. But $52 and I'm not satisfied it just hurts lol The pizza gets a solid 3 stars, with some improvement I can see it bumping up to a 5 star with some love put into it. (More flavor more sauce more anything to give it flavor) The wings was the worse for me. It gave restaurant depot frozen section wings. Large abnormal wings tasteless inside and very little hot sauce to cover the wings. I'll pass. It seems this is a family owned business, I'll give them another chance maybe in the future to support. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome from a man named Vee. I told him it was my first time and he gave a wonderful introduction to the menu and suggestions. Oh my gosh, the customer service was just half of the experience. My pizza was phenomenal, perfect amount of topping for myself and I love the texture of the crispy crust. It's not hard at all, it had the perfect softness with a nice crunch at the bottom, that's how I like my pizza. I told the staff how this pizza was so good I felt no shame in eating it. Vee let me know his coworker Nish prepared the pizza and I gave her my compliments. The environment was very open with plenty of space to sit. Everything is great here. They have two tvs with sports playing, they have air hockey and a pool table. Lots of space for parties. The pizza comes in slices or full pies and they have additional foods for those who don't want pizza. They have a big bar and the pizza is freaking good. I drove from Fairfield to go here for lunch. I'm from The Central Valley and on my dads birthday (who passed away in 2015) I came here for lunch. After driving an hour I had to use the bathroom. Decided to give this place a chance after having last ate there about 6-7 years ago. Hands down love the customer service. Being greeted with a nice smile right when you walk in is always better than just walking in and not being acknowledged. They were polite and I felt they definitely knew how to take care of customers. The pizza on the other hand was unfortunately really bad. You can tell from looking at it that it's really cheap quality. The first bite immediately confirms it. The cheese they use is very similar to the cheese that comes on the cheap pizzas you would get in middle school during lunch. I'm honestly giving them an extra star because of how much I loved their customer service. I'll definitely return for some beers and pool, but will not be trying the pizza again. If this place starts investing in quality ingredients, it'll make them more competitive, increase clientele and result in them becoming more profitable. Cutting corners is negatively impacting their product. Combine these improvements with their awesome customer service and they'll have a recipe to be very successful. If I want good pizza at good prices, it's hard to beat Me-N-Ed's pizzeria without the need for coupons to save a few. Just 10 bucks for a large one topping pizza at any time any day when open. I like that and it goes down well with beer while watching a sport game (which they were showing) instead of relishing every bite from the slice. It's just not a memorable pizza by any stretch but it's not worst than most other pizza places. It's surely better than frozen pizza at almost frozen pizza prices hah. I am not sure why the reviews are so low! Being from the valley and just moving up here, my husband and I were so excited to see a Me N Ed's!! It is our favorite pizza. And there is nothing else like it. It is a true original. Crispy crust top to bottom, flavorful sauce (and plenty of it) and plenty of cheese and toppings. We feel lucky to just have a piece of home close by. We have ordered twice and everything has been fully satisfying. RUDE + PETTY = never eating here again! Ordered two large pizzas to go last night, instant regret. Not only did these rude jerks gasp and whine about out order but to top it all off, they felt it necessary to let us know that we were getting two $25 pizzas for $10 each. Funny story because they have a large banner and other posted signs outside advertising these $10 large 3 topping pizzas. It seems that the owner and his entire family are extremely resentful of the advertised price. I'm not sure why they think it is ok to take it out on their customers but they should definitely revisit this strategy. One of the toppings we ordered was chicken. I swear we couldn't find a single piece of chicken on our pizza. Oh and we asked for ranch to go with the pizza and the owner flipped out at us as if we wanted it for free or something. If the guy would have just said that the ranch was 25 cents we would have paid him extra for it because boy did that quarter make him angry lol. Anyways, never going back. Not sure what happened. My niece recommended this place to me, so I thought that I'd give it a try. Arriving a few mins before my fiancee, I asked in a hurried voice if I could use the bathroom, before ordering. The guy behind the counter cuts my off, stating that I had to buy something right now. I was in the process of explaining again that we were going to buy pizza, when he cuts me odd again. I ask him to let me talk, and explain to him that my girlfriend is walking in right now and she would order while I used the bathroom. He reluctantly buzzes me in. I've been living in the bay for nearly a decade and only until recently did I learn that there's been a Me-N-Ed's nearby this whole time! As a Central Valley native, I was so thrilled to enjoy the best pizza of my childhood. For transplants, the food is just as good as it tastes back home, and for new visitors, you won't be disappointed! And I have to say that even during Covid, they delivered amazing customer service. I arrived 15 minutes early to pick up my online order (because I was just that excited), and they offered me a free drink while I waited.
