Purchased 18 tall trees. 6 were small shrubs. Who is lying Mr. Meadows? Rude!

Just a warning to avoid Meadows Farms for your landscaping needs. We purchased 18 trees and 6 of those delivered were the wrong tree. When we asked for this to be corrected with a delivery of the trees we'd chosen, we were accused of lying and charged an additional $300 to replace them, as the size we'd selected was no longer available. I've never been spoken to as rudely as Ron Meadows, VP of Meadows Farms, spoke to me. As VIP customers of Meadows Farms for decades, you can imagine our frustration and disappointment. Take your business elsewhere! Posted in General to Anyone

Thank you for all your help!

We needed pumpkins for my son's 3rd-grade class "Pumpkin Math" event on Halloween. We found these magnificent pumpkins at Meadows Farms, and Cesar was a real lifesaver, helping me out. The pumpkins were enormous! Thank you for your wonderful service as always!

This place is AWESOME. May not look nice at first but once you go to the back, it's beautiful. I love the staff, they're knowledgeable and down to EARTH. Ha! I can't believe they have such a variety and huge selection of plants! I became a VIP member just because I love the plants, but the sales are wonderful and so so generous. I wanted to pursue botany and horticulture in college but, I guess I can do it as a side hobby.

Japanese maple I bought for $50

I wanted to create a lush garden on my rooftop and my front yard this season. I had visited a few nurseries and online sources, and I even trolled through Craigslist. All these places were overpriced! Well the online sources weren't bad, but as you don't know what you're getting, I decided against it. (with the exception of Antique Rose Emporium for roses - they're awesome!) Anyways, the DC nurseries were ungodly expensive. I really wanted a small Japanese maple, and a fruit tree. I was here the other day, and I was able to buy a Japanese maple on sale for only $50, and it was about 2 ft tall, maybe in a gallon container. It was nice and healthy too. I had to haul it in the back seat of my convertible, and it definitely got beat up by the wind and (*ahem*) my driving, but it made it to my house in pristine condition. I was also able to get a baby fig tree for $30. I understand that the maple tree was normally $100, but even then that's half the price of the Japanese maple trees I found in Dc. Service is super friendly at this place, and it's well organized.

I guess, mostly by habit, if I needed plants or flowers, I would drive a few more minutes up the road to the Home Depot, since I always thought HD was cheaper. I purchased my usual assortment from Home Depot of herbs (basil, cilantro, etc.) as well as a few tomato varietals in mid-March 2023, however, by late April most of the plants were dead. Granted, it was a colder than usual Spring season, but these plants should've been hearty enough to withstand a bit of frost. As I have a penchant for supporting small businesses, I decided to finally pop in the Miracle Garden Center, and departed asking myself, "what took me so long to check this place out?" Located off of busy Rt. 236 (Little River Turnpike), it is easy to miss this mom and pop business. Look for a white 1-story structure with the "Miracle Garden Center" signs affixed to the building. There are a few parking spots in front and around the side for easy access. Upon passing through the gates, I was struck by the sheer variety of vegetation ranging from indoor/outdoor flowers, mini-trees, and of course, plants for your garden. I picked up a few pepper varieties since I always love fresh chilis and got a fantastic price on some habanero, serrano, and Hungarian wax peppers. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any Thai Chili plants, but the gentleman watering the plants indicated that their supplier didn't carry it this season. I also picked up a few tomato varietals such as Roma, cherry, and a Sungold. Of note, the Italian Basil, sweet mint, and Cilantro that I purchased a few weeks ago have also flourished in my garden since I planted them in late mid-May. No knock against them, but unlike my experiences asking questions of the staff at HD about frequency of watering, recommended amount of sunlight exposure, etc, the team at Miracle Garden are friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to share their their wealth of information. Now that I'm headed back into my office more often, I even picked up a snake plant for my desk, since this is a very "low maintenance" plant which is not only super easy to care for, but has numerous benefits (https://www.healthline.com/health/benefits-of-snake-plant#benefits) including air filtration and oxygenation. Chatting with the staff, I understand they also carry seasonal items such as pumpkins in the Fall and Christmas trees during the winter. Miracle Garden Center is just the type of local business I love to support and recommend to the Yelp community.

We are retirees and tired of fighting with weeds between the pavers. I made it clear to the designer we wanted to do this to eliminate the constant weeding. Fast forward to today after returning from a three week vacation. We arrived home to 8" weeds and tiny ones in all the spaces. The "polymer" they place between the stones was supposedly going to harden but not crack with freezing and heating. Unfortunately, this is no better than the sand we had between our old pavers. I now have to spend hour weeding which pulls up the polymer with the weeds. The other option is to spray our patio with Round Up! We host family gatherings with grandchildren where we don't want them exposed to very harmful chemicals. I wish I could add photos to this review. We are very sorry we were sold this product. Do not make the same mistake.

We spend almost $1,000.00 and they came by the next week. Everything seemed to be ok after they left, but less than a month later, the sod stared to brown. MULTIPLE requests (including text messages, phone calls and visits to the store) and months later Donny finally agreed to replace the sod. NO notification that they were coming, I got a knock on my door the last day of October (7 MONTHS later) they were there to replace the sod. In the middle of the guys replacing the sod, Donny (the owner) literally pulled up in front of my house, got out and screamed in front of my entire neighborhood how he didn't think my sod actually needed to be replaced and to "never effing call him again" (Yes I have it all on video if anyone is interested). After an altercation, he trespassed me from his store. Nice way to deal with a customer that only wanted to get what he paid almost 3X what he should have from a local business.
