Recently went to the Home Depot as I needed to get a part for my lawnmower. Essentially, I needed to get a small piece of hardware as the wheel fell off of my lawnmower. I asked one of the sales associates who directed me to the hardware aisle. There was an employee in the aisle, and he informed me that he couldn't help me as he was filling an order. He called for customer assistance, but nobody came. As there was a threat of rain, I selected a part on my own without assistance. I chose the wrong part and had to drive all of the way back to the store and was confronted by the same scenario. Nonone was there to help, and I was on my own. I took the second part to the cash register only to be told by the clerk that yes there were many different sizes of the part, but he could not help either. So, I was on my own. It is unfathomable that there can be so many employees working there walking through the aisles yet no one to offer assistance. I was beyond disappointed and am motivated to check out Lowes in the near future. read more

Came in to finish up a few home projects and the associates were helpful, nice and accommodating. TBH I've never had a bad experience at this location. They have a wide selection of materials for DIY and contractor projects. The prices are comparable to other merchants, I.e., Lowe's. I was so happy they were able to cut my under bed posts to size because during COVID they had stopped and I did the first set myself.....needless to say I came in today to get them replaced, lol. read more

There is something mind-numbingly wrong with Curbside Pickup at this Home Depot. My order was ready and I showed up and checked in via the app. 20 min later no one still had showed up so I called the customer service desk. The first lady tried rerouting me to some other department and I hung up after 5 min and called back. The second rep I talked to cut me off while I was trying to give him my name and order number so he could come out with my stuff. Instead he came out just to scan the barcode from my app (a waste of another 5 min). To me this screams my order was never ready even though they marked it as ready in the app. As a result, total time to pick up a bottle of cleaning solution and a couple 50lb bags of road salt? 30 minutes. Oh and by the way, after the guy loaded my pickup truck he didn't even bother to close the tailgate before walking off or telling me he was done. Get it together with your curbside pickup! And don't say orders are ready when they aren't to pad your numbers for corporate! read more

I had to pick up a couple of new strands of Christmas lights cause good luck finding the bulb that doesn't work lol! Was happy to see they still actually had a large selection instead of being sold out like in recent years. Got two packages of lights, a new pot for my ever-growing, orchid, and a new cute little succulent. Literally, every employee I passed, said hello to me, had a big smile on the face and it was genuine and warm and welcoming. It was a really good vibe. Steven was my cashier and he was amazing! I had the best customer service experience tonight when I was coming in for a quick replacement part for a DIY project I messed up. I met with J. D., with his hands full tools he was cleaning/stocking, asked me if I needed help. I asked where I could find a replacement piece of the part I brought with me. J.D. inquired why I needed a replacement, I explained my project and my mistake, he kindly provided an amazing solution for lasting results. Then J.D. put all his tools down and walked me down a few isles to grab the tools needed and demonstrated how best to use them on scrap drywall. Glad to say I went back to the project with the parts he advised and used the knowledge he shared in the demonstration to complete my project as soon as I got in. The results are amazing! WOW! Huge positive change in service at this location. Have been going there for years, but usually left with teeth clenched in frustration. However, after avoiding this store for a while, I returned a week ago and found the most helpful workers who cheerfully went out of their way to help me find what I needed. My cashier, Hamda, was knowledgeable about the available discounts and even came out to help me load some chairs as I pulled my car up. When I asked another staffer about the difference, she said they had a new manager - Loretta Mason. When I returned a day later to address a minor mixup, I didn't get any excuses or delays - just a quick fix with a smile and apology. Service always starts at the top, and the cheerful willingness to help customers has been noted. read more

Something needs to be done with the bombardment of people begging for work outside the store. I'm not sure if I'm giving off the "helpless woman needing cheap labor vibes" but I'd like to be able to go into the store without being hounded, waved down, and eyeballed for services I don't need. Thank you Home "Deposit" for the worthwhile trip. This one is at a crazy intersection, and your best bet is visit on a weekday. Just like the others, contractors make up a large number in the mornings. This one is close to the Beltway and 395. It's one I hit up here and there. They do have good deals at Christmas, and got my new tree from this location. It's so easy to set up, and plug to light it up. Good employees help as well. Do not get your appliances at Home Depot. They send out appliances that have been packed damaged and do not want to exchange them or help you out. I received a dishwasher that had no damage to the outside box or the packaging and the door and inside were bent and they insisted I had to go through GE the manufacturer. GE service inspected it and found it had been damaged inside and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I'll never shop at Home Depot again. Today at 5:30 I went to this location to buy a voltage tester and a garbage disposal. I saw that lowes had a better price on the tester, so i set the device down in aisle 8 and proceeded out of the store. I was then followed out of the store by lost prevention. He asked me to give him the voltage tester that i stole. I told him "I put it down", he asked me again to give him the device I took. I then walk him, back into the store and pointed him to the device I put down in aisle 8. He apologized. However apologizing does not absolve him of call me a thief multiple. Mistakes like these should not happen with the security technology available today if he were doing his job correctly. I will be returning every item I purchased from home depot over the last 30 to 45 days, including items purchased with my corp card and never shop at this home depot or any for that matter. I will also remit this issue to my employer and we will remove home depot as one of our retail vendors. I happily purchased the items I needed from Lowes on Richmond hwy moments after the incident. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service I walked in the store at 11:02am I went to the lumber section and measured out the piece I needed I asked 4 different associates for assistance to get the lumber cut. 2 paged for a lumber specialist and no one showed up. I walked around the store to find a delegate of managers and asked for assistance I explained I had been standing there for 45mins. Which it was received in disbelief the time is 11:48am when a female manager told me that the. Machine was broken and stated it had a work order on it as if I was suppose to know. It didn't have an out of order sign so again myself and the 4 other associates didn't know either. This Home Depot, besides offering items for bathrooms, the kitchen, and the lawn & garden, also has in-store workshops, truck rental, and a key cutting service. I don't want to place even a 1 star raring on this home depot branch. I bought a washing machine and dryer in the store. 3rd party vendor came to deliver and install and supposed to remove the old ones. they came in with their shoes on wet from the dew from the grass. I inquired if they have shoe cover, he asked if I have one. installation guys want to.change my plumbing, change and move the dryer vent. was giving me quotation on how much more I should pay. I said no. called their customer service, home depot said they have only 1 contractor to deliver and install. I was surprised for big company like this no other vendors available. the manager assumed and insisted that I should do what should be done or else they will only deliver and not even take the old appliances. never will I come back to this place!!! read more

Reading the reviews, the ratings are pretty low for the store and I feel conflicted offering my review. Well not really. "If it doesn't apply, let it fly." I live in an apartment and was only in Home Depot to look at house plants. You can jump to that Millennial conclusion all you want but I used to live in a basement and since I love having plants but don't believe in pets. Alas, I found the house plant selection to be extensive and affordable. I wasn't expecting to buy anything but I ended up leaving with a couple for under diez dolares. I ordered a grill online (Order # W950106046) that was delivered from the Annandale, VA store. It came dirty, rusted and broken. I made a complaint on April 27th and posted another complaint three days later but have heard nothing back I have always gotten great products and service from Home Depot. This time they failed to come through with any resolution. I admire workers who put their health on the line to serve us during this epidemic and appreciate the HD workers and delivery personnel. This is a hard time and I understand that it is taking longer to respond. My guess is that they are overloaded and will get back to me when they have the time. read more

One of the worst locations I've been to. Every time I call I either get hung up on, or wait on hold so long I have to hang up. Finding a knowledgeable associate for certain departments is next to impossible. Had an issue with a pre-hung window not closing nor locking. Spoke with a seasoned employee in that dept tell me a pre-hung window won't close unless it's installed first. Let that one sink in. Inventory is not accurate either. So many times I drove there to get a part with their site showing a bunch in stock only to be told they either don't have it or they cant find it. read more

Watched him make a PA announcement for a garden rep to aisle 45. Waited 15 minutes, no one showed so I used my phone to order one for $20.00 less, delivered to my house. I love this Home Depot! I had no idea what I was missing, but thank goodness my contractor told me to go to this one. I had previously only been to the one at Seven Corners, where you are pretty much on your own. As soon as I got to this Home Depot, people were ready to answer my questions. I'm not handy at all, but I was sent with a list of things to get for a bathroom remodeling project. Customer Service Desk I talked to customer service about making purchases that could be held at the store and picked up on a later date. The representative told me I could either pick up the items or write down the SKUs of in-stock items and they would go get them. This is a great service for someone without a car! Or someone who doesn't want to figure out how to lift a toilet onto a cart. Tiles I had checked in advance on the app to see what tiles they had in stock and went about loading up my cart. I couldn't find the floor tiles and someone immediately asked me if I needed help. He then showed me where they were and loaded them into my cart for me. So easy! When he finished, he asked if I needed anything else and when I said, no, he quickly started to speak to the next customer. Paint I needed paint for my bathroom and was switching colors. I thought I would need to get a primer and another can of color paint. The paint specialist told me he could combine the primer and color and it would look fine. So, that was half the amount of paint I thought I would need and he was right -- it totally covered up the old color. Returns When I got home I noticed I was charged incorrectly for some of the tiles. The price that was scanned was per tile, but if you look online you can see a price that is per box. I called the store and spoke to Jenny about the issue. She said I could stop back in at any time and she would fix it (I had to go into the store b/c I had used a giftcard; I believe that if the purchase was made by credit care she would have been able to address it over the phone). When I went back the following weekend she remembered the phone call and was able to refund the difference w/o any problems. read more

I was there today and came across a young man "working " outside the store, I had some twine and needed someone to cut it. I asked him if he could cut it for me.. he slowly approached me, used his box opener to cut it for me, I said "thank you!" He didn't say a word! Just walked away from me! I think his manager needs to talk to him and make sure he understands that when working in a customer service type environment you have to be pleasant, friendly, courteous and thank all customers for our business! I know they do a LOT of volume during the week, it's in a prime location and it's ALWAYS busy, but good grief was it a mess yesterday! Also, the staff we could find seemed to be too busy trying to get ready for the weekday rush and not at all interested in helping us find what we were looking for. Terrible customer service at this location. Do not use their installation services. I wanted a pre-hung door. After about 45 minutes spent watching a sales associate struggle to enter the order into the system, I left the store thinking I was done. A few days later, I get a phone call instructing me to come back to sign paperwork and pay for the order. A new sales associate couldn't find the old order, so he has to start over -- only this time, he messes up the install request. Fast forward three weeks, the installers show up and can't complete the job because they don't have all of the parts. I took a day off from work to accommodate what turned out to be several layers of incompetence. Making matters worse, when I returned to the store to speak with a manager, I had to wait in line -- during which I watched another sales associate yell at and demean a contractor who was waiting on someone to bring a special part from the back. About a week ago, I went in to get some Kingsford Mesquite in a bag that was showing up on the website as being in the store. Looking where it was supposed to be, the bin was empty. Usually people don't go out of their way to help but a young man working there named Nati asked if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for and he was able to find it on another aisle. He went and had someone with a forklift get it down for me. I was only going to buy one bag, but with all the effort he went to, I picked up two.
