Dr.Nishihara has been my kids pediatrician for over 10 years. He is such an amazing person, connects so well with his patients, extremely compassionate and very knowledgeable. I am so grateful that my kids have him as their doctor. The office is very nice, there is never a wait time. They play fun Disney movies in the lobby but since you don't have to ever wait for him, you hardly get to see the movies lol! My kids love to visit the restroom coz they think it's the coolest restroom, everything is touchless, lights, sink, flush, towel dispenser. Staff is very friendly and I have never had problems getting my kids seen by him on the same day if they are sick. Deserves all the starts and MORE. He is amazing. Hand down very thorough and great with kids. Our one year old has been not a great sleeper and my husband and I couldn't figure out why. Dr Nishihara was so concerned and spent an extra 15 minutes or so asking questions. He figured out that our baby was waking up every our due to eczema and dry skin and made recommendations on what we needed to change. The next days were MAGICAL. Our baby sleeps very well to this day and only needed to use Zyrtec that first night. His eczema is now confined to a small area and getting better. Horrible care! If you want to bring your child in and feel like a stupid mom and that you know nothing this is your doctor! If you want a doctor that cares more about his staff than the child that is sick with a 104 temperature that you made wait in the car for over an hour and your staff never called once to notify us of testing results and status for when you would see her and then you were mad at me the mom for asking your staff to at least keep me updated which they never did! This Doctor is the best peds in Vegas. He is an advocate for kids. Parents who so not listen will get an earful of education. Dr N wants his kids happy and healthy. We went thru his care and education for almost 10 years. Had to switch doctors at one point due to lack of insurance and then found out that other offices are just not up to his standards. The other offices were dirty and unorganized. This office is spotless everyday! How they handle cleanliness is like how we are now learning to wash hands due to COVID-19!!! Love this office. We never wait more than 5 minutes tops (just make sure that you yourself aren't late.) When I call with a sick kid, they get me in the same day or worst case early the next morning. Some times I'll call, and in a few hours I'll be walking out of the office with the medication I need so I don't even have to go to a pharmacy. It's amazing! I just called (on a Saturday) to ask if I should go to quick care because my daughter is sick. He offered to do a telehealth visit right then, told me what to do, and called in a prescription! De.Nishihara is the best pediatrician ever, I was recommended to him and was warned by himself that he is strict. I can tell you he cares a lot for each and every patient. I have never met any doctor who calls directly himself to ask how his patients are doing and that speaks volumes. All the staff in his office are wonderful as well. Dr. Nishihara is very caring and it truly feels like he wants the best for his patients. He is very particular about germs and about showing up on time for the appointments so don't waste his time and he won't waste yours. We just recently switch pediatricians and after meeting Dr. Nishihara, I'm glad we did. He was so great with my daughter. He helps take the edge off of a drs visit. My daughter was super relaxed and he had her laughing. He is very direct with the kids; he speaks directly to them and makes sure that they understand everything he's saying. He also gave my daughter a fidget spinner on her way out, which made her very, very happy. His staff is also super nice. We got there 20 minutes early and took us in almost immediately. Then, once back in the exam room, we maybe waited 10 minutes, probably less. I would highly recommend Meadows pediatric. He uses a bit of silliness to put my son at ease in the office, which is no small thing. We have been to other Pediatricians in other towns before Dr Nishihara. YES, we have been yelled at. I personally dont mind as we are more concerned about the children. But there are huge upsides. Things he requests and may seem strange about... VERY PUNCTUAL... DO NOT BE LATE.... But this means we have never waited more than 2 minutes for our appointment and room to be ready. GERMAPHOBE... But this means his facilities are the cleanest we have seen. I mean seriously clean. Not one sign of mess and he must go through costco size amounts of cleaner per day. VERBALLY ROUGH ON PARENTS But this means, you will be told the harsh truth. We just go in expecting to get yelled at,..but as a parent, i prefer to be toughened up, rather than make a mistake later on with the upbringing. Bottomline is this.. If youre ok having tough skin, he is your doctor. If you feel like you want to be kept in a bubble and never told how to properly take care of the health of your children while maintaining a false sense of security as if youre doing it right... then find another doctor who may not be as good for your children but great for your false ego and perception of yourself as a parent. My husband and I have brought our kids into Meadows Pediatrics for a variety of issues including food/environmental allergies, staples/stitches, flu, and speech delays. Dr. Nishihara is very good with the kids and is extremely professional with parents. I'm grateful for finding this doctor for our kids. My son was given a vaccination too early. His records were not even checked! When I asked for a printout of his records because we are moving the mistake was caught. Then they asked me to come back next month to get it again! Do they not make double sure they are giving the right one. Thankfully, this one wasn't dangerous, but it scares me to think of what could happen. I don't want to have to do tons of research each time I go to the pediatrician. I want to trust that they know what they are doing and double check things when they do it! We liked the doctor himself, hence the one star, but I would definitely go somewhere else. read more

If I could give this less stars I would. Just moved to Vegas and made an appt for my daughter to see Dr Nishihara. I was unable to make the scheduled appt and called to let them know this. The receptionist put me on hold for 5 minutes and then set up a rescheduled appt for my daughter. 20 minutes later the same receptionist called me back to say that since I had not made the scheduled appt that she would be unable to honor our rescheduled appt! This is AFTER she had already rescheduled the appt! I asked her if this meant that we would be unable to reschedule an appt with the doctor ever again and she said 'Yeah'. This is completely UNPROFESSIONAL! I feel as if I dodged a bullet though. Who wants a doctor for their child who is so unwavering and obnoxious? Not me! Whenever my baby has a fever or rash or anything I'm worried about they see me right away. I am very happy with the no wait time. Get in get out and I love that. Basic pediatrics with no wait with your appointment. Don't miss a well visit though. Otherwise they tell you takes 6 months or more to get in for one. We waited on a "wait list" for 4 full months and were never able to be seen. After 13 years we were forced to leave the practice or wait several more months for a well visit. All my kid needed was for the doctor that has seen her for her entire life to sign saying she was healthy to play sports at school and Dr. Nishihara refused to get her in for 3 more months after already waiting 4 months on a wait list. I imagine he figured we were nearing the end of our useful paying life since we are now in the teen and tween years where visits are fewer and so are shots. It's unfortunate. The staff and doctor at this facility are amazing and very patient. The clinic is very clean and decorated nicely for the children. My son isn't always the easiest, but they always find a way to get what they need done, and do so without making me feel embarrassed or like he's a burden. So far, I am loving Meadows Pediatrics. Having our first child is definitely nerve wrecking especially since she was in the NICU since she was born. Doctor Nishihara is so great with her and he's very very straight forward with everything. Which we love! He's also very sanitary. He always mentions to us that the adults are the ones who spreads the germs. He always wants to see our daughter be on track with gaining weight and so forth. I don't even know where to start, the first couple of appointments I could tell it was all his way or the highway but this last appointment for my daughters one year follow up just went over the edge. As a woman and mother who is always second doubting herself as it is there should be no reason why I am in the office during the appointment crying and feeling like I am not succeeding as a mother. He made my husband and I feel like we were failing as parents because our daughter was not hitting all her milestones at 12 months. Instead of giving us solutions on how to turn things around he was saying we weren't doing this or that. My husband left the appointment and was in tears in the car on the way home second guessing what we were doing wrong.
