I love this practice, and they're one of the few places that does actually do simple blood work right in the office. I can't tell you how silly it is to pack up your child to run to an independent lab to do lab work. Never grew up that way, so it's completely wacky to me when I have to pack a sick child up to go somewhere else to do lab work. Our pediatrician is Dr. Tacvorian whom is completely old school and I totally appreciate it. We also had a chance to see Dr. Baker whom is awesome and sat down with us to talk about our child with no regard to time. I think he spent like 20-30 minutes just chatting on how to take care of him. A doctor that doesn't watch the clock is a very rare occurrence these days. One of the nurses is awesome (I believe her name is Ina). Very patient with our son and he never cried with her when doing blood work. Some of the others are completely impatient and squeeze their little foots until the infants cry out and claim that it's always like that. I'll also say that I'm not sure about the hygiene at this clinic. They have Purell dispensers but it's hard to tell if people actually use them. I know that my son had peed on the floor out of fright after having to get his weight checked and we got some paper towels from the CNA, but unsure that it was ever actually cleaned up later that day. Definitely no one came by with Clorox wipes or anything to wipe after we cleaned it up with the paper towels. Another awesome thing about this clinic though is that they are open 7 days a week and able to accommodate sick children by appointment on the weekends with walk-ins from 7-8AM every day. Very worth while in that sense. For the most part, the pros outweigh the cons by a lot and thus a 4 star rating from me. read more

Dr. Takvorian was my general Doctor up until I turned 18. There were always very long wait times & sometimes I felt like Dr. T wouldn't listen when I told her how I was feeling. For the most part it was okay up until the following incident happened. Towards the end of the year last year my sister went in because she felt swollen lymph nodes around her armpit area. This really scared us because our aunt had just passed away from cancer. So we go in there & we see Dr. T & she examines my sister & says that she didn't notice anything, but that she could give us a referral for blood work. While she was working on that my sister commented that she was starting college & needed a shot that she was missing. All of a sudden Dr. T lashed out on us telling us that we had lied about our original reason for seeing her. That we went in just so we could get a shot... Just going on & on about how we lied about my sister's swollen lymph nodes. My sister & my mom started crying their eyes out. My mom chewed her out about how unprofessional she was & how dare she assume that we were lying & how she didn't know what we were going through. She let her know that we went in because our aunt had passed from cancer & we were paranoid. Right away her demeanor became very apologetic & wrote up to have my sister get the shot she was missing. Never again will our family ever see this unprofessional, rude, aggressive woman. Take the time & read reviews on doctors, because they're the ones you trust your health with. read more

our kids have been patients here since 2003 and we've met with several different Dr's over the years at the Tenaya location. We really like them all and have never had any issues, other than an occasional, longer than average wait time. Can't beat the weekend walk-in hours for sick kiddos though. Because everyone knows that kids only seem to have stubborn, high fevers on Friday evenings! (side note - those early AM weekend walk-in visits definately seem to have the longer wait times, so get there early!) read more

So here's my opinion of this office, and I hope other moms and dads find it helpful. Making an appointment (5 stars): I called to make an appointment for my son (as a new patient), spoke to some one who verified my insurance was accepted over the phone, and literally had an appointment for the following week. Accessibility of location/Parking (3 Stars): When we arrived at 7:50 AM on a Tuesday, the parking lot was quite full but it didn't take long to find parking. There's an entrance/exit off of Tenaya and one off of Cheyanne. I gave 3 stars because it's adjacent to the hospital which can create some confusion and congestion getting in an out of here. Also, upon entering that medical building this office is located in, there's a pharmacy at the entrance (which I understand can be convenient when leaving) but causes a cloud germs from those who are sick and waiting for meds. That's not something you want to be breathing in when your trying to take your kid to a well visit. Office front desk staff (5 stars): So checking in was a breeze. The lady who helped me was very nice, explained all the documents that need to be filled out, and asked for the exact information from me that was needed in order for my son to be seen. The staff members behind her were also pleasant and engaged with my son while we checked in. ( Side note: the check in desk is located right at the front door which, creates a bit of a traffic jam when this place is busy.) Waiting Rooms (2 Stars): Yes, there is a sick and a well waiting room. HOWEVER, people fail to read the signs before entering whichever room they want. You have sick kids with well kids, but I don't fault the office for that. That's the parent's job to pay attention. The 2 is for the filthiness of the place. My son wanted to place with one of the toys in the room, so me being me, I had lysol wipes on hand to wipe down the surface. This toy was so filthy, I couldn't believe that it was in the waiting room. The room itself is very dated, and the chairs are falling apart. This room could use a make over or some TLC. The Wait (4 stars): We waited for about 15-20 minutes, given that we had paperwork to fill out. The wait wasn't bad; I just wish I didn't have to wait in the waiting room. The Well Visit Experience ( 2 parts: Nurse and Doctor) Nurse (3 stars): The nurse called us to the back, and she seemed very pleasant. I gave her three stars because there are just some common courtesies that young patients and their parents should be afforded. She never introduced herself, or the student that was shadowing her. She led us down a hall to an exam room, where she asked us to get my son striped down to his diaper be weighed (which is common). However, we were then lead back into the hall where there was a scale and measuring table. We weren't informed that this is how it is here. My husband and I were baffled! Then she asked us to take his diaper off! Keep in mind we are still in the very public hallway of this office where other patients are being lead to their rooms. No explanation! My son didn't like this one bit and neither did we. The nurse tried to make my son laugh by playing with him, but he wasn't amused. After being weighed, we put a new diaper on my son and quickly went back to our exam room, where we waited 15 minutes for the doctor. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I feel like the nurse could have been more engaging, informative, and made our experience better. She also administered a shot, and instead of asking which leg we wanted it in, she made that decision for us without asking. She also instructed my husband to have my son lay on the table instead of my husband holding him (like he normally does). Perhaps she could use a refresher in bed side manners course, and remember that she is working with children. The Doctor (5 starts): My son saw P.A. Candace Moore. She was absolutely great! She was warm and welcoming. She introduced herself, and was very caring with my son. She asked us if we had any concerns or questions, and then examined my son ON MY LAP!! How cool is that! He didn't want to sit on the table, given that he was down to a diaper and cold, and was already sitting on my lap comfortably. She was completely accommodating. She was even understanding when we told her that we are delaying some vaccinations. She didn't push us to get more or scold us like some doctors will. I'm so happy that we found her. The Exam Room (2 star): Like the waiting room this room is very dated and a little dirty. While we waited for the doctor. I took the opportunity to wipe down the room with my Lysol wipes. It was just filthy! My husband said it looks like they bought this building and kept all the old stuff the previous tenants left from the 90's. Overall: This place gets a low "C" %73 ( 29/40). But there's room for improvement. We shall see! read more

This is a great pediatric practice. I've been taking my son here after he was born. The doctors are caring and knowledgeable. The nurses and from Front desk staff are caring. I've never felt pressured about anything and all my questions have always been answered. I've dealt with 6 of the doctors in the practice, 3 on a pretty regular basis. Our primary doctor is Dr. Tyabji. She is excellent and very caring. She has called me at home to personally ask how how son is doing or to check on his condition. She has also called me to give me test results. I don't know many doctors nowadays that will do that. Dr. Naiman is also very good. He helped us quite a bit in conjunction with Dr. Tyabji when we were dealing with a pretty bad MRSA infection. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I just switched my kids to this practice. We have had several visits already and they are usually prompt. There is a sick/well waiting room separation and they can almost always accomodate a sick kid visit with pretty short notice. I have had good experiences with the two docs we have seen, but the nurses/assistants are a little off. Once my twins weights/heights were switched on the charts. I guess with two kids at a time it can get confusing, but their job is to be accurate. They are boy/girl so that should have curbed the mistake. The second time the nurse took my son's temp and it read 99. His cheeks were bright red and burning to the touch. I asked her to recheck it and she got a different thermometer and it read 102.6 degrees. The practice does seem to be almost always available. The Wynn location is 24/7 and though they do not have pediatrics, they are more convenient than the ER after hours. Also, the nurse line has been pretty helpful and available. This practice is overall much better than the practice we just left. They are big and corporate, but sometimes that works to the patients benefit. read more

I have been taking my daughters to them since they were born. One is 6 and the other is 10 now. Both of them love seeing anyone of the doctors. It's always so easy to book appointments with them and for emergencies the walk in hours and Saturday appointments are amazing!! Being in the military has taken me out of Vegas twice but I've come back and they are always my go to for my daughter health care provider. No question. My children have been attended by Dr. Baker for over 10 years, and it was wonderful until now. My son, whom is 17 years old went in for a bald spot forming on the back of his head. I told the physician that my family has a history of thyroid cancer, and I would like to get a work up. The physician said that this is something for the dermatologist to look at. No blood work, no other tests, just her rubbing her finger on his head and saying, "well it's not ring worm". I'm appalled, I work in the ER and this is down right neglect. One might even go as far as to say its down right incompetence. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Dr Santos is wonderful; however, this place is poorly run. The individuals working the front desk are often useless and are not able to show any critical thinking. If you have people check-in one minute apart you should probably service the person with the earliest appointment first rather just who is first on the sheet. This office is operated just like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I'm currently writing this review while waiting 50 min after our scheduled appointment time, one of the many times they've been extremely late. Copy, you only have one doctor working right now but then don't cram as many appointments into the day. My daughter usually sees Dr. Tacvorian, who is a very patient congenial lady. She likes to laugh and always makes us feel comfortable asking her questions. This past week my daughter had a sore throat so we used the walk-in hours (from 7-8am) and ended up seeing Dr. Duddy. He was genuinely friendly and not only discussed her ailments but also talked to her about being in her first year of middle school and being pressured or bullied. It was heartwarming to see a busy physician take the time to address issues that are relevant to my preteen. He explained when his own son was being bullied in school and how they dealt with it. If you ever get the chance to see Dr. Richard Baker, he is amazing!!! My husband actually went to him as a kid so he's getting up there in age and only works there on a part time basis. He provides a wealth of information and freely discusses homeopathic treatments. When my oldest daughter was an infant with a really bad case of baby acne, every other doctor we saw advised us there was nothing we could do. Dr. Baker advised a vitamin supplement for me to take (since I was breastfeeding) as well as suggesting I use udder balm on her face. Within a week her acne disappeared. I really like this office and the office staff as well. It's also nice to sit in the "well visit" room as opposed to the "sick room" when you're taking your kid in for just a checkup. read more

My 1 1/2 year old son, Lorenzo, was in the Freemont office on Durango to see Dr. Shi yesterday and today. Dr. Shi is relatively new to this practice after replacing Dr. McGhee. Now I know why the consummate caring Dr. McGhee left the Freemont group. Tonight at 8pm, I called and spoke with the after hours service. I asked Maria that the Dr. on call to please give me a call as my son was continuing with the symptoms that he had earlier that day when we were in the office just 4 hour earlier. Maria spoke to Dr. Schnitzler who was on call that evening. Maria spoke with Dr. Schnitzler, who refused to speak with me or call me! That is a serious issue with me and one that I will be pursuing with the state board. I will be leaving this practice as the culture and caring quotient has certainly changed. This is the profession that he chose, I really don't care if my son had a sneeze or the 104 temperature that he had, he should speak with the patient. read more

I love this doctors office. The staff is always friendly and the doctors are great. The best doctor in my opinion is Dr. Duddy. We have been coming to him for years for both of our children. I'm sure he has hundreds of patients but he always remembers who we are and always treats us like we're family! They have a well room and a sick room so if you're bringing your child in for a well visit you don't have to sit them down with all of the other sick kids. read more

I am 28 and have been going to Fremont since I was a little girl. I used to see Dr. Baker and now my son sees Dr. Santos. I love the walk in hours and they are great about trying to help if there is an emergency and a same day apt is needed. My son loves Dr Santos. Did a lot of research and finally decided on Dr Duddy. So thrilled we came here. We arrived 30 min early for paperwork and the office staff were really sweet. I believe I spoke with Marilyn. We were seen on time and had very little wait between the nurse and Dr. Nurse was really great, I think her name was Renae. She interacted with my kids a lot. Dr Duddy was awesome. Answered all our questions and didn't make us feel rushed. Only con was that we called a few weeks ago because my daughter had a swollen lymphnoid after she got the flu and the nurse wanted us to come in for something that didn't even resemble her symptoms. read more

I have been taking my daughter here since she was 1.5 now she's 3.5 so over 2 years. I now bring my son here!! We see Dr. Santos and he's been awesome! Very personable and honest. The best part about this clinic is that it's open 7 days a week!!! I hate that people always seem to get sick on friday at 6pm after every doctor office closes!! Well kids are not different. They open at 7am and thats usually when the sick hours are so if your little one wakes up in the middle of the night stay up till 6:45am and mosey on over. I've done this twice so far with not a single issue! Most of the front desk ladies are nice. There is one that made me feel like it was a HUGE deal to add my 2nd insurance but I added it for my son at a previous visit and the other lady was happy to help. If you have something come up and you're doctor is off you will be scheduled with a different doctor. We've seen Dr. T and Dr. Naiman both of them have helped immensely. My sister even comes here now. Her son see's Dr. T because he doesn't seem to like older men lol. This place is easy and when it comes to kids it's nice for SOMETHING to go easy sometimes! read more

Ridiculous, I waited 17mins on hold to try and set an appointment. When the lady finally answered I told her my child would be a new patient. She asked about the insurance which I told her the company name, she responded with they have 3 plans which do you have. I don't know all I know is what the front of the card says with the group #. I have been coming to this office for almost 4 years now, front office staff is always friendly that's why I gave the two stars. My child has developmental disabilities and every time I've asked for a referral they have sent me to someone who is out of network Even when the pediatric specifies for a certain network I have not been able to have a correct doctor seen him. This is not only frustrating for me but saddening that my child can't get the proper help. If you have an hour to waste in the waiting room and more in the actual room, go ahead and come to this place. read more

This is the worst pediatric clinic ever! Dr. Neiman needs to retire. You can tell in your visits that he is completely over it! The nurse Sherry is the worst nurse I have ever dealt with. I personally am a manager at a medical office and if I had a nurse that treats and talks to patients the way she does, she would be unemployed so quick! She has no compassion for our little ones. Also my sons last name changed and it took 3 times for them to get it together and update their records. I am getting two different bills, when I spoke with the billing department they did not show any record of any of my payments made to them. After several phone calls they said it was fixed and I am still getting two different bills. I would save yourself from any problems and just go somewhere else. Former Desert Valley Pediatrics Patient I give this place a 5 star. I was used to 1hr 30min wait. For an extra 20 min wait for the doctor only to be seen for about 10-15 min and be told that everything is ok. Love how everyone is so attentive and charismatic. Dr Naiman is amazing. He has been my sons pediatrician since he was a week old. Dr naiman always sings songs while doing his exam, and makes his own lyrics up to them! Today it was a remake of twinkle twinkle little star! And My son LOVES his iguana stethoscope! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great pediatrician ! read more

After our beloved pediatrician shut down his office when my daughter was 1, we tried many, many pediatricians in town. A year and a half later, we settled on Fremont for a number of reasons. First, the hours can't be beat. They are open 7 days a week and offer a walk in urgent care every single morning (a blessing after being up all night with a sick kid!). Second, the nurse line is a true God-send. I love being able to call in and just check to see what they think before committing to a visit. Third, if our regular doctor isn't available, there is usually one that is the same day. Our primary physician is Dr. Tyabji and she is wonderful! But we've never seen a doctor we didn't like here. read more
