After seven years, I feel it is important to share my honest experience with this pediatric office. When my daughter was a newborn, I brought her in because she had a fever and cough. After the medical assistant took her vital signs, she went into another room. I overheard her and others making remarks that made me feel they were making fun of me for bringing my infant in with those symptoms. As a new mother concerned about her baby's health, this was upsetting and left a lasting negative impression. I did not return to the office after that visit. The walls also seem very thin, so conversations can easily be overheard. I hope the office takes patient privacy and compassionate communication seriously. read more

I have been taking my daughter to see dr Ching since she was 1 month old. She is now 7 years old and I have experienced the absolute worst experience ever and it will be the last time my child goes here. Apparently Dr.Ching's wife is the manger and she is extremely rude and disrespectful! My child has asthma and just was diagnosed with RSV and her medication that she needs now because she is currently having trouble breathing was sent to the wrong pharmacy so when I called to try to get it straightened out, the manager tells me if it's so important why don't I go to the wrong pharmacy to pick up the medication when I'm unable to take my sick child out right now and it's so far from my house. As opposed to the one that is two minutes away from me that her medication was supposed to be sent to. Instead of being helpful, she continued to hang up the phone and not answer the phone when I called back and told me if I want my child's medication I only need to talk to her and she continued to hang up on me. I've never experienced this dealing with her pediatrician especially regarding a sick child. Her oxygen level was at 82 today and this sick lady hangs up the phone when I'm trying to get medication for my daughter, honestly stay away from here. And when I tried to get her name, She tells me she's Dr Ching's wife and hangs up the phone again. I've never experienced unprofessionalism of this level. I'm truly hurt and disgusted by that lady's behavior and I have the phone call recorded she hung up on me and said I was yelling when I was literally talking in a regular tone almost whispering and she still hung up the phone on me repeatedly and then would not answer the phone when all I was trying to do was get my child's medicine. That is extremely cruel and sick stay far away from this practice if your child's health is important to you. read more

I just switched to Dr. Ching and it was NIGHT & DAY. My son is now 7 months & he's really developing a personality so I wanted to find a more personable pediatrician. Dr. Ching as well as her student NP we're just that. My baby boy was smiling & laughing the whole time. My appointment was to establish care. When I called for an appointment, it was 4 weeks out. They seem to be a busy practice with multiple providers, but Dr. Ching being the main provider. They have 2 locations - one on S Fort Apache & sunset, the other on craig & N Decatur. We go to the Fort Apache location. There were paperwork online that my husband filled out and sent to their email the moment the appointment was made. When we arrived, the front receptionist stated they were unable to find the paperwork online, but had paperwork ready to fill out. A little inconvenient, but the newer facility, professionalism, & care given by Dr. Ching made it all up She was thorough, answered ALL my questions, AND gave me more information that my old pediatrician never gave me. She had a chart of all the developmental milestones and a chart for starting solids. I already started my baby at 5 months & let my old pediatrician know, but I didn't really have any instructions or direction before. Because of the excess information given to me, I know what to do & I feel comfortable doing so. After measuring my baby, she showed us her screen of where he fell in percentage: head circumference, height, weight. I felt like she cared and wanted to show us what she was looking at. She also explained to us that she does have other providers in her practice & there may she times we may not see her. It's so crazy writing all of this and I bet people are probably thinking "well yea... that's what a pediatrician should be doing". But let me tell you. Dr. Ching is the first pediatrician to do that for us & I am so thankful. Happy to have established care here. Tip! Suite 100 is located at the back of the facility, so park in the back! read more

Brought my daughter here for all her newborn check ups (newborn,1 month and 2 month) first two visits everything seems fine.. but the 2nd month all they wanted to do was give my daughter vaccines. When I questioned the Dr. and asked to have the information/handout about the side effects and risk she got very defensive and saying that in her country (Philippines) they are very effective and she recommends all vaccines to protect baby from getting dangerous viruses. I asked her if we were to get the vaccines and something negative happens to our baby if she will take responsibility, and she said "no, I cannot guarantee anything" that's when we declined to receive the vaccines for our 2 month old. She then said that we will need to find a new pediatrician and walked out the room. its very clear that they do not care about your children, they just want to get paid from the vaccine company for giving the shots to your children. I would recommend that you save your time and do not come to this pediatrician. read more

I would recommend Ching's Pediatrics on Ft. Apache. My son and I like both doctors there, and the nurses and office staff are friendly and efficient. Dr. Ching and Dr. Christmas are very sure of themselves and knowledgeable with advice. Worst billing department I have ever had to deal with. You can tell that the lady is either unaware of how to do her job, not trained for it or just lazy. Every.single.time I ask for her to submit claims or contact my insurance ; she just says "you have to call your insurance and ask them" THEN WHAT IS SHE DOING EVERY DAY? Just adding new patients and that's it? Anything that could be an extra step she completely refuses to do. My insurance is not letting me add a claim, because the office needs to send it, BUT YOUR BILLING LADY DOESNT WANT TO SEND IT. I try to be understanding, because English is not her first language, I get that, but if she is too afraid to speak to others then she SHOULD NOT BE DOING BILLING. read more

Not the biggest fan of Dr Chings. They are quick to prescribe antibiotics and send you out the door. There was also an instance where my son was sick and we collected a stool sample that took over a week to get results from and the office never called back with results. We just moved here and needed to find a new pediatrician for my two little ones. I saw all the great reviews for Dr Ching so I booked with her. I booked an appt for both of my children. It was nice that I was able to have them seen at the exact same time. The front desk lady (not so nice) but the two who called us in were friendly. A little clueless though. We were there for about 1.5 hours so lots of waiting. I was not happy with that especially when I have a baby and a 4 yr old. How could you possibly expect us to wait for over an hour in a small room comfortably??? Dr. Ching was nice when we finally got to see her and she answered all our questions. When I was there in 2018, she used a bell to help her transition from one appointment to the next without any flexibility, even though I was mid-sentence, let her know ahead of time I had questions, and was on time to my appointment. I'm glad to hear that she's not using it consistently, but it was very disconcerting when I was there and had to leave with none of my concerns addressed because of "the bell". Not to mention, the office staff took an absurd amount of time to release my child's records to the new doctor. I would like to say she seemed caring when it was her turn to talk, but she was so concerned about her appointment windows, that she mismanaged her time and didn't allow me to ask any of my questions. Let me just start off with saying this- Dr.Ching, Christmas (I believe that's her name), and Princess the MA are the BEST. Very nice, attentive, and they listen. But, that's the only thing great about this office. The front desk staff never answer the phones unless of course you call over 20 times. They don't greet you even after standing there in the waiting room for 15 minutes. Apparently you have to stand in front of them until they're done having their personal conversations THEN you can ASK to be checked in. Idk, I've worked at multiple dr's offices and maybe I'm asking for too much but a little "hey how can I help you?" Would suffice. That's a basic patient care skill that are taught even in Medical Assistant school.... I wouldn't be so annoyed if they were actually "busy" but they literally ignored the fact that me and my family of 5 was in the waiting room, definitely not quiet. Now it is 45 minutes after my daughter's scheduled appointment time and we still haven't been seen. If I didn't need to bring her in for current concerns, I wouldn't have. Save yourself some time and find a dr who has better office staff. Everyone here seems to be so lazy. Don't answer phones, don't greet patients, don't smile? While waiting you can hear their personal conversations about other patients who call over the phone.. honestly, we're all just trying to make it through the day but it seems like their priority is what is the new items at Starbucks... catch them if you can *eyeroll* New year, new doctors office I guess. I work in the medical field and I have seen numerous kinds of providers. Dr. Ching is definitely one of the few that I have seen who's really compassionate about her patients and the pediatric population in general. I did a preceptorship with her and I really witnessed how great she is with children and their parents. She is very knowledgeable and really knows how to approach even the fussiest child. Extremely kind and thoughtful staff! Since we relocated I'd put off finding a new pediatrician but selected Dr Ching based on the Yelp reviews and her close proximity to us. We filled out all of the paperwork and were waiting for our medical records to be sent over from our old pediatrician. My older daughter came down with a cold that she contracted from her younger sister and woke up from her afternoon nap screaming that her ear hurt! Mommy tears started right away seeing my baby in pain. I called Dr Chings office at 2:30 and they were able to squeeze us in at 4:15! Amazing!!! Baby girl had an ear infection and we were able to pick up a prescription within the hour from Walgreens. Even bubble gum flavored medicine is a deal breaker for my daughter and she refused her medicine. The next day I called and asked if we could possibly get ear drops since she wouldn't take the medicine orally. Dr Ching didn't think drops would be effective and said the alternative is a shot. Within 15 minutes we were in the Drs office. Dr Ching voiced her concerns saying she felt bad for my daughter but I explained a shot is much less traumatic than fighting my daughter twice a day for the next 10 days to take a teeny bit of medicine. The nurse Maritza asked her do you know why you're here and my baby said I need a shot to make me better. Although we were seen VERY promptly the girls still had fun in the waiting room playing with the kitchen and toy puzzles. The exam rooms each have a different theme that is kid friendly as well. I realize that being seen won't always be that quick and we were very lucky to have been able to get in so quickly. I'm very disappointed in the service we have been receiving lately. It's so hard to get someone on the line. We've been coming here since the beginning of 2019. The last few days my son has a fever and I have been calling nonstop for someone to answer. I was able to reach someone today around 9AM and was told no one was there to take appointments. Someone will call me back to schedule him for today. I don't hear anything for a while so I decided to call back around 10:35AM. The lady told me, she's able to help me with the scheduling, but there isn't an available time until Monday. It's Thursday..... For a facility for children, I have to say I'm very disappointed how they REALLY DON'T CARE for their patients. There is completely no way for them to see my son who has a fever for a few days. The doctor can't even call me back with a suggestion. Why should we continue to go here when they're not available for when we really them? Don't bother with this place. It was great back in 2019..it went downhills in 2020 and still bad. Our insurance covers everything fully for our son and they still manage to say we owe $7-8 every visit. I let that slide and not complain about it, but can't make time to see us when we need it the most. That's not ok with me. read more

The Drs and staff on this office are very nice, but not competent. We moved to Las Vegas in January and I took my four year old in for her annual check up and shots. A few months later, we went back in because my daughter was having problems with sleep. The Dr. Didn't seem to know much about sleep science and suggested some odd solutions that the sleep coach didn't agree with. We had blood panels drawn to check a few things. After 2.5 weeks, still no call back on the results. I called the office multiple times for the results and was first told they weren't in, then they were, but a Dr. Needed to review and would call me on a week. 4 weeks for a basic blood panel? (Sunset location) I called today to schedule an appointment for my children who got hand foot mouth disease and I wanted to make sure they're clear to go back to school. I didn't need an immediate appointment but the receptionist gave me a same-day tele-med at 2:15pm. I got the text invite for the video call at 2:15pm, waited 30mins, and called to check if it was canceled or if there was communication errors between front desk and doctor because this has happened before. I understand how backed up doctors can get and I had no problems rescheduling for a later date but the receptionist said appointment is still a go so I waited. 4:24pm and we still had not been seen so I called the office but no answer. I called back at 4:32pm and I respectfully told the receptionist that I am still waiting for the appointment and asked if it would be better to reschedule. She tells me, "I can get that answer for you right now, let me just put you on hold." I was on hold for 27 minutes and hung up at 4:59pm (office closes at 5pm) because she clearly had no plans of coming back on. I'm a very patient and understanding person and I have overlooked things (no following up on bloodwork abnormalities, unanswered telemed appt) because the doctors were swamped and overbooked but putting me on hold and not even bothering to come back on the line made it clear that I need to go elsewhere. The blatant disrespect blows my mind. Do better. read more

The facility is clean which is a big deal in healthcare. They engage in wellness and preventative care for children as well as they do walk in for sick visits.
