I ordered the basic poutine but fried extra crispy. Gravy has a bit of spice to it. The fries has an almost a curly fries coating. Service friendly and accommodating. Ambiance is its a hole in a wall. You eat and order on the sidewalk. When it gets late at night it caters to a lot of drinking individuals. I would feel like grasping my purse every 5 minutes if i came here at night. Minus one star bc its in a tough neighborhood. But tastes sooo much better than costco poutine.

Open 24 hours, perfect late night snack in a busy area! There is so much to do in the neighborhood but this quick service is one of the better options. The staff are so nice!

Counter take out. Easy ordering and take it home. Never had poutine so just got the classic. Wasn't disappointed with my decision. But the meat lovers sounds good.

It was my go to spot for some warm poutine after a night of drinking. They are located on Granville street, right where all the bars and clubs are. It is a grab and go spot, don't have seating area. Recently I took a friend of mine who was visiting Canada for the first time to make her try poutine and I couldn't have picked a better place. I kept it simple and just got their classic poutine but holy moly it was so good!! I don't know what they do to make it so delicious. The fries were super crispy yet thick, there was enough gravy on everything so that it perfectly melted the cheese. For some reason, their gravy does not make the fries soggy. The service was also very fast, we got our order in about 5-10mins after placing the order. If you are ever in downtown craving poutine, this is the place to go!

Let me start off by saying I am not from Canada and have no knowledge prior of poutine, so take my review with that in mind. I was visiting Vancouver for the first time and really wanted to try Poutine and found this place on Yelp. The shop is small no dine in just a little counter to eat your food. It's no frills but it sure was yummy! The service was quick and the interaction was short. Nothing bad to say. If you're a first timer I think it's a great place to dive into poutine!

Mean Poutine definitely living up to their name by hiring the unfriendliest employee ever. Wow. Came by on 4/21 630pm and the female employee was wiping the glass. Ok, hi. I'll just look over the menu and take pictures since she's really focused on wiping the glass. Still wiping. Still wiping. Still ignoring me. I'm contemplating about walking away but then she finally asks what I wanted to order (no greeting/no expression on her face -a bit unnerving but fine. I just want a BBQ poutine with extra crispy fries/$12 I asked if I could have extra ranch, she said .50cents. No thank you. Handed my box and it's heavy. Take my pictures and dig in. No wonder it's heavy -mostly fries ! Barely 6 pieces of the tiniest curds. Meager sprinkling of bacon pieces and almost cold pulled pork -ew. The unfriendliest interaction with the most unappetizing poutine. No wonder locals just kept walking by without a second glance. Also 25 cents extra for extra fork and another 25 for a bag Unforgettable in the worst way.

    Classic, chicken and chili!

OMG THE POTIONS ARE HUGE! Fresh to order and quality matches quantity! This place is NOT fancy smanshy but you get so much bang for your buck! Services was efficient and friendly!

The guys manning the truck were super courteous, and I ordered the "regular" version with demiglace sauce. It turned out to be one of those rare times when I was not disappointed! The omu was as fluffy and tender as can be, and the hidden bed of ketchup- and onion- flavored fried rice was also delicious. While the demiglace was a tad too salty for my taste, I'm definitely going back for another round, next time with curry sauce for an extra $4. Big thumbs up!

Another sausage popular among Japanese customers is the Kurobuta Oroshi which has grated radish, green onions and a special soy sauce on it. I picked option # 1, KUROBUTA TERIMAYO, which is a Kurobuta Pork sausage topped with fried onions, Teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo and ample strips of seaweed sprinkled on top. It was so good.

I was really impressed with the price (7 dollars including a pop) and the choice of toppings and bun - potato or whole wheat. I went with the potato bun, and added pickles, fried onions and Franks to the tartar sauce, coleslaw and lemon wedge that the halibut comes standard with. In addition to the halibut, they serve up salmon, lamb, turkey and buffalo, as well as a variety of premium toppings. I only wish that they had more options for the specialty side instead of having just pork brawst as most die hard health nuts aren't really the fan of the pig. Even though the prices are way higher for these dogs than the guy down the block I still don't feel as guilty eating these dogs. Oh and I loved how I was given a few free chips on the side. First things first, this doesn't have the oomph and character coolness of Japadog that locals and visitors have grown to love. No long line ups here, no uniformed Japanese speaking staff, no photos of hotdogs with different toppings, and yes, no photo of Ice Cube too. There was only a friendly smile from the owner and one unique item offering which was the tandoori dog, choice of either kosher beef or kosher chicken. For $5.50, it was just plain and ordinary with only a hint of tandoori flavour basted on the hotdog. Despite the onions being nicely cooked in butter, bread rightly toasted, it was just boilerplate okay. It lacked creativity, texture and presentation, the wow factor. I was expecting toppings as chutney, yogurt, maybe paneer, or some curry infused side condiments, but there was only mustard, ketchup, and bbq sauce, typical for the dirty water dog varieties, not a stand named as Tandoori Tikka Dog. Sigh. Didn't mean to be the bearer of bad news here, but I'm giving it 2.5 stars and hoping they could improve as there's still lots of room left for more ethnic fusion street foods here in Vancouver. Meanwhile, I don't think it deserves a visit from Anthony Bourdain as of yet.
