Got our poutine fill here while in Vancouver. We got a classic order and a beef order. So tasty and delish. Adding the beef was probably overkill on our tummy's, but we had to try it while on vacation. Served hot and fresh. Good sized portions. We shared two orders amongst 8 people as a snack before dinner. Rest of menu looks good too. I'll have to come back to try other items. In Canada so why not poutine. Many places to get it but traveling with someone who wanted something g else and was happy with Chicken Kabob Plate. I had the Classic Poutine. I got my poutine fix out the way. It was pretty good and my friend said her chicken kabob plate was very good with rice, salad and a thin looking flat bread. Heading down Granville around 10:30pm, the aroma from this place caught my attention. Two guys were running the whole operation. While there weren't any patrons dining in, several phone calls would come in for takeout/delivery orders for which they were busily preparing. I decided on the beef poutine, a samosa, and a bottle of Parsin Aryan. Loud, energetic music filled the restaurant, and one of the guys kept a conversation going with me about my day. The order was completed in a little over 10 minutes which seems normal to me. Honestly, I just enjoyed vibing to their soundtrack. The beef poutine satisfied my craving easily with its rich gravy, tender fries, melty and squeaky curds. The protein was very much the beef you'd find in their gyros, its texture and spices working surprisingly well. The samosa was solid, crunchy shell, flaky texture, and packed with flavor. Trying the Parsin Aryan for the first time, the saltiness caught me by surprise, though it definitely helped with digestion. Because of the sheer volume of food, I ended up saving the rest for the morning. One of the most anticipated leftovers for breakfast I've had in a while. read more

Looking for a late night bite and was excited for how highly this place was rated. Unfortunately majorly disappointed (food wise- I'll get to that). Decided to go for the poutine and it took an inordinate amount of time for being the only customer in there. If I didn't get up to check on them I'm not sure how long it would have taken with staff on their phones. Given a free soda (likely for the long wait- yay). But really I'm ultimately writing this review to share my perspective on how off this rating feels. The chicken poutine was fried chicken (but soggy). Fries and cheese curds were fine- but nothing really was that good- didn't even finish half, as it wasn't worth it imo. read more

You know I can for the majority of the time tell within the first few minutes of walking into an establishment what level of quality it will be. ......and yes, there have been (not many) restaurants that I have walked in and walked right back out again. I was hungry, wanted lunch and craved something new. As I walked through these doors I was greeted with a welcoming friendly smile, staff hard at work and a smell that could only be freshly marinated meats on a perfectly flamed grill ready to serve. I got the Mix Wrap. One skewer of beef and one skewer of chicken, as both proteins were juicy, well seasoned served up perfectly wrapped in a pita bread with yummy proportioned veggies and sauce. Loved it. Oh and another thing..... Have you ever had a wrap you were biting into and the juice starts to run down your fingers, hand and arm right onto your sleeve making its way to your watch? Holy moly I'm floored by this poutine! I never would have thought this one would be the best I ever had but wow! If you're looking for a spot for some amazing poutine while in Canada this is your sign!! We wanted to go somewhere walking distance and stubbled across this shop. The portion size was enough for 4, we ate it throughout our stay. They put scallions and a spicy sauce on top if you want. We added a little and it was the perfect kick. It also came with a white sauce, similar to taziki. I will be dreaming about this poutine forever! You have to try it. :) read more

Dining at this establishment was truly a heavenly experience. Upon stepping across the threshold, my ears were immediately serenaded by creative renditions of not only timeless classics like careless whisper but also modern day pop songs such as Dance Monkey. The extremely respectable fellow at the counter answered any questions we had prior to ordering and very graciously took our requests. We could see him hard at work behind the counter as he made our order. The food itself was like nothing else I've ever put in my mouth before in the best way possible. The poutine was drizzled with an absolutely divine ratio of succulent gravy and tangy sriracha-- genuinely life changing. The cheese curds and beef shavings only furthered this experience. The beef kebabs were the juiciest most flavorful kebabs that have ever graced my taste buds. Despite the fact that we were nearly stuffed past what our waistbands could take, we thought the kebabs were so delicious that we still ordered two more. This is one of the very few places that truly pains me to give it a 4-star rating solely in the interest of keeping my grading scale consistent. So let me preface this by saying that this shop didn't "lose" a star by any means. I wholeheartedly recommend grabbing a try whenever you walk by, and I truly appreciate the owner's business. I also did not necessarily find anything to "complain" about. I just didn't find the flavors themselves to be excellent enough to warrant a 5-star rating. This was also my first time trying poutine, so I did not exactly have a good frame of reference to base my rating upon. However, what I CAN say is that the guy working the joint is superb. Instinct tells me he's a sole-owner sort of deal, though we never managed to get his name or details - other reviews mentioned his name was Shiva. He plays funky music and was more than welcome to crack a few bottles of Jarritos for us. He also included a free baklava with our sole order of poutine when he caught me looking at his baklava (and samosa) shelves. Now for the meat of my review, we had the obviously correct choice of gyro beef on poutine with extra gravy on the side, to celebrate my Canada visa finally seeing action. I also debated grabbing some fat crispy samosas on display, before remembering I was on diet. I don't know how this fared against the best poutines in the world, but we dunked gravy on it like a couple maniacs, so you better know it was good. Fries crisp beef sweet cheese melty. What more could you ask for? As for the baklava, it was interestingly served cold, with a more candified shell than you'd see otherwise and some chocolate syrup on top. This baklava is made for DESSERT, and the guy was clearly too tired of people buying the stuff for appetizers. Too bad that didn't stop us, but we can say it turned out quite well. I have to congratulate the owner on successfully mixing Middle Eastern concepts with Canada's best-known food. Fusion is hard to do right - and fusion between anything and North American fare, even more so. TL;DR Come by and have a good time. Not the kind of place to write a journal over. read more

This was our first meal flying in from the US. What a welcoming first dining experience it was! We got the poutine which, admittedly I haven't had much but this one had really savory gravy, crispy fries, nice cheese pull from the curds, some spiciness. Really well balanced and thoughtful flavors. The chicken and beef kebabs were tender and full of flavor. Aside from the food though, the most notable was the hospitality of the guys in the front. They kept piling on freebies to us and encouraged us to eat more and enjoy our meal. I felt like they were my Indian uncles and it totally felt like family. These guys should seriously be the official food ambassadors of Canada, my experience of Canada will be forever cherished because the warmth and hospitality I experienced at this small unassuming restaurant. Came in late at night for a very late dinner. Staff here were excellent to work with. When we mentioned wanting a falafel (which they didn't have) they offered to make a veggie poutine wrap. And they did. It did take a while for it to be made, likely because all the patrons from concerts and bars were looking for food, and the food delivery people were picking up lots of orders. It was excellent, highly portable, great crisp on outside, warm fries and cheese. Great fresh veggies, and all the flavors melded together so well. We just left here after dinner. Some of the best Mediterranean kebabs I've ever had. Chicken was so tender and tasty and the salad was fresh. First time for poutine and it was great. As an American tourist my first request when arriving in Vancouver was poutine, and this place did not disappoint! Their fries were hot and crispy, the gravy was rich but not too salty, and the donair was juicy and delicious! It's a bit slow for a grab and go spot, but the food is very fresh so I can see why. We had guests from Switzerland who wanted to try Poutine. A google search showed a few options with this restaurant being in the location we were around. You would walk by this place and perhaps not give it a second glance as from the outside it looks unassuming and small. If you do walk by, you have missed out a fantastic experience. The lone staff member working (Shiva) greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm. Although small, this restaurant was spotless and the seating was very comfortable. A decent selection of options were on the menu and we had full view of Shiva preparing our meals. Everything was freshly made, very tasty and more than adequate portions. Small wonder the restaurant is so clean as we watched Shiva diligently clean his work station and the grill. This young man truly exemplified the type of employee that the food service industry needs to make a lasting positive experience for customers. We will be back and strongly recommend this restaurant.
