If you love matcha I think you will like this cozy spot in Squirrel Hill. You can choose your level of matcha, level five being the strongest. They also offer weekly rotating soft serve flavors and matcha ice cream you can have at different levels of matcha as well. The indoor and outdoor seating is fine and I appreciate the public bathroom. My fave was the blueberry matcha latte but it's ube season now. My current favorite is the iced banana pudding matcha latte with coconut milk at level one.

New favorite Matcha spot. Stopped in for national matcha day, which they offered a $1 discount on their entire menu! Menu offerings were so vast, it took me a while to read through everything because it all sounded so good! They have a couple of rotating specials and different grades of matcha depending on caffeine levels and a weekly rotation of their soft serve. In addition to matcha lattes, they have shaved ice, soft serve floats, espresso + matcha combos, refreshers, and combos I never thought of but wanted to try. I love a yuzu drink so I tried their yuzu cool, a yuzu blended ice drink topped with their grade 1 matcha. It was amazing. The matcha quality was fantastic and you could really taste the difference. My friend tried one of spring menu offerings, a peach based latte and loved it. There's very limited seating inside so be aware. Street parking outside. I can't wait to return!!

unfortunately it was giving oxidized cheap matcha powder i got the level 3 too which was $2 extra so tell me why it was $9 for a normal matcha latte ‍ it did seem like they used a lot of powder tho just not quality powder it was really grainy and grassy. but my bf went here when they first opened and he said it used to be a lot better sooo maybe they had an off day? the hojicha was better but still not great.

I am obsessed with their soft serve vanilla ice cream. It is so rich in flavor and perfect in the summer sun. Very nice staff always.

I came on a weekend to get their soft serve. We got their ube x black sesame ice cream as their weekend special. The black sesame flavor was strong and present, but I think the ube flavor was lacking. The earl gray ice cream has a very strong floral aftertaste. Earl gray has that tea taste usually, but it was very overpowering. The jade fog latte was good as a matcha with a lavender cold form but for $8 as a matcha with cold foam is steep. There's only about 5 tables in the store, but sometimes some ppl come here to study. Street parking is free nearby.

Really enjoyed the parfait here, with a lot of great layers of red bean, jelly, cream, plus the cake and crushed ice cream cones really brought great texture! Sadly they had changed their weekend special from stronger matcha to coconut and Thai iced tea when I went. The flavors were good, but definitely not as strong as I would have liked. Personally I'll stick to the matcha soft serve, but still one the best spots around for any matcha treat!

Pretty good dessert place. I would come back again. I came on Wednesday evening. Street parking was somewhat easy. Not sure if I got lucky... Seating inside is limited... The affogato was good. I think it was supposed to be vanilla soft serve but they ran out and gave me hojiha- the roasted matcha for the base and drenched it with rich matcha sauce. Sooo good. Value was good. Service was good too- friendly cashier.

I have only had Meccha a few times, but it is so consistently good! Their limited time specialty matchas are fantastic - I've had the ube and banana pudding lattes. I've also had their ice cream once - I always love matcha ice cream! It gets busy inside, but the staff are always really kind and fast. There are some tables to sit at, but they're usually full! They have some tables outside as well. This place is busy for a reason - it's some of the best matcha in town!

There is a cozy vibe inside and a couple picnic tables outside. The people who work there are super nice. You can get the matcha at different potency levels. The desserts aren't too sweet and are in fact very refreshing. I feel like this was among the first matcha places to open up in Pittsburgh!

Fantastic matcha with standout ice cream! I prefer their matcha level 2 over any I can find back in NYC-- it has a really smooth, rich matcha flavor. Their soft serves are great too and never icy. Service is very quick and they have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. They also constantly rotate their menu and have several seasonal specials.

Honestly such a cool place. A little on the expensive side, but a unique menu for Pittsburgh. This was my first time having anything matcha related, so I'm certainly no expert, but I enjoyed both items I got from here. I got the house latte and matcha ice cream. The matcha ice cream you can get in levels, with varying amounts of caffeine and intensity. I just tried a level one, and it was still really tasty. Creamy ice cream, not overpowering but present matcha flavor. Really good, and a great portion. The house latte was also great. It had condensed milk for sweetness and whole milk for the creaminess. Was very solid although again, a bit pricey. If I go next time, I'll get another one of their more unique drinks like something with sesame or some of that soft serve.

Great matcha place! I got the affogato and asked for matcha ice cream instead of vanilla. The matcha ice cream was nice and sweet. The matcha was pretty bitter but paired nice with the ice cream. The portion was huge I did not expect it to be so large compared to the pictures. So many other ice cream flavors and drink options. Some seating inside as well as outside. It is a nice place to sit and do work, there are also bathrooms. Workers were nice as well!

The matcha here is one of the best I have ever had! I love that you can choose what level matcha you'd like because I am a huge matcha lover and don't like when you can barely taste it. I think this would be a great place to try matcha for the first time since they could get a lesser amount. Plus the quality is great here so it won't be "grassy" for new timers. Service is super friendly and quick. The place is super cute and small, just know that there is no AC if you go during peak summer.

Very disappointed with this establishment. Went there specifically for their black sesame soft serve special and it didn't taste anything like black sesame. It was essentially grey colored vanilla ice cream. Staff was friendly and attentive. Service was fast. Establishment could be better run--many folks sitting around doing work on their laptops and seemed to be mooching off of the free WiFi and air conditioning. Staff should encourage non-paying folks to save space for actively visiting patrons. It's like going to a restaurant and the diners who ordered $3 soft drink sits there for 3+ hours. Total thumbs down all around. Will have to continue to drive 5 hours away from Pittsburgh to get as "real of the deal" without flying overseas. read more

finally a decent matcha-centered cafe in pgh!! my friends and i decided to take a study break and try this place out as we are all big matcha fans. matcha is definitely and acquired tea flavor so it's rare to find people who genuinely enjoy matcha tasting. we ordered the matcha iced tea latte float (was about $9-$10) which is the latte and soft serve ice cream on top. i enjoy my matcha a bit on the stronger and less sweet side so this one was a bit of a surprise. since it had the soft serve, the drink/ice cream was a bit powerful on the vanilla side. you can adjust your level of matcha (only on the weekends you can go up to level 3 as posted on their board), so i will definitely do that the next time i try this out. my friend got the matcha soft serve ice cream, and at first was handed the matcha lvl 3 ice cream scoop and she was not a fan of the strength of the matcha, so the workers were nice enough to replace it with the actual soft serve. we also ordered the matcha strawberry iced latte, which was a bit overpowering on the strawberry side. overall, if you prefer your matcha on the stronger and less sweet side I recommend getting the lvl 2 or 3 matcha if they allow you to adjust it. the spot was super cute and has many tables to sit inside, and it can def get busy as it is a new spot in town. read more

Honestly probably the best matcha I've had from a restaurant. Wish they had a bit more seating, but honestly the drink really didn't leave anything to want. The soft serve portion is really large, so keep that in mind (it's like double the height of the little cup they give you), and if you get a level 3 matcha it is EXTREMELY matcha heavy. Their unique specials are really cool, the banana pudding foam matcha latte is a favorite of mine, and if you like both of those things, I promise this is a pretty interesting combo. read more

I love green tea/matcha flavor. Green tea ice cream takes me back to my college years. I remember getting a quart size thing of green tea ice cream (for $3!) from the local Thai restaurant, and it was love at first sight. I had to try this place out. Since it was close to evening time I went with the least caffeinated one, Matcha level 1, while my mom got the yuzu ice blended with ube soft serve on top. The shop was super busy but the service was fast. The matcha ice cream was creamy and delicious. Great balance of earthy sweetness... not overpowering and leaving me wanting more. Next time I'm going full steam and getting the level 3. The yuzu ice blended was pretty good. I liked the ube quite a lot and my mom said she would have enjoyed eating it alone. cute place with a wide selection of matcha drinks, soft serves, and parfaits! they even have a matcha shaved ice, which i'm hoping to try in the summer heat. the matcha soft serve was average (what you'd expect from a soft serve, nothing crazy) and so was the matcha almond black sesame latte. actually, the latte was pretty watered down and bland. you can pick from different matcha levels though, so i think i might just have to try a stronger level for the drinks. the interior is okay, they have some cute japanese decor and posters. there's a pretty solid number of seats inside and some bright green benches outside too. there was no AC when i went (on a warm day) so inside was sweltering hot. i'm guessing it's because the store is new, plus there's outside seating, so this didn't bug me too much when i went. the workers were super nice as well! kudos to them for working in the heat, i definitely wouldn't have been able to... i'm looking forward to coming back to try stronger matcha levels / different items on the menu! read more

As someone who really enjoys matcha, this was a really cool place to visit and have in addition to the PGH area! Lots of matcha desserts, drinks and more. They have different levels of matcha available depending on what you prefer. I had the Matcha Yuzu Float. Perfect balance of flavors between the matcha soft serve and sweet citrusy yuzu base. I however was a bit surprised of the cost of some of the items (my drink included), I think they are a bit pricey, but a nice treat for some unique items that are hard to come by. read more

Mixing everything together helped a lot, especially to distribute the sweet and tangy sauce throughout the bowl. I would return, but I'd probably make some adjustments to my bowl choices next time.
