I was a client of Ivan for close to 7 years. In that entire time I never nickel and dimed him on any repair he ever quoted me. His tenure as my mechanic has been less than stellar. He did substandard work on my car on several occasions. In the past he insisted that he did a tune-up on my car only to find out from another mechanic that it never occurred which was causing the most recent problems with my car. On another occasion he installed an after market radio that died out after a year. When I called him about it, he just ignored my phone calls. There's no excuse for this. He replaced the motor for my drivers side window which is still not working properly till this day. When he informed me about his new policy about charging a visiting fee, he took an attitude about it and I never screwed him out of one red cent. So my '04 Nissan Titan pick up with over 200K miles would not turn over, had battery power though. In advance of purchasing a BMW from a Pompano Beach seller, I contacted Ivan to perform a pre-purchase inspection. Discussing the inspection via phone, I became confident in Ivan's abilities and knowledge. His insistence that I not pay him until he was actually about to perform the inspection demonstrated his financial integrity. Ivan agreed and made several attempts to schedule an appointment for inspection. The seller postponed the first scheduled appointment, and then attempted to deflect the inspection by offering several excuses, then abruptly pulled the BMW off of the market. Though Ivan did not actually perform an inspection, his persistent attempts frightened away a scammer, crook and maybe worse. Ivan kept me informed throughout.
