Talk about a diamond in the rough! I came across this place off of pure luck. I was diagnosed by the dealership that my transmission was going out but decided to have a 2nd opinion. Turned onto this street as I was looking for 7 mile for lunch and stopped to ask the gentleman that was outside of his shop moving vehicles. You could tell he was busy but still was able to assist me with directions. I figured I'd ask him if he could give me his opinion the issue with my car. I told him I would come back after lunch. Ever since then, Bernard is the only mechanic i trust with my car. He'll give you his honest opinion and doesnt gouge you like other shops do. Bernard has helped me too many times to list. I've taken my '03 Honda, '04 Honda, '66 Ford F-250, 2002 VW Eurovan, Wife's 2011 Prius and her mom's '97 BMW Z3. Every time, the work is excellent and fairly priced. One story however, really says it all. the family and i were in the VW leaving for a trip to SoCal when we hit a curb and damaged the tire. I called Bernard and told him that we needed to get down to SoCal for a memorial. Bernard said "Bring the car over! Great shop to take your car. I was kind of dreading to take my ford escort for the 180k service. Dreading it so Munich that I have been putting it off for too long. So I saw the other reviews and decided to bite the bullet. I took my little car down to the shop and got an estimate. There was no standard fee he just said lets open the hood and see what needs to be done. So he did. He opened the hood and said this looks good, this is fine, look at these cracks though, you should get a new belt, cables, fuel, and air filter. There were a few other items but it was far less painful than I expected. What I appreciated most was that he took the time to show me what needed to be done. I did not feel that I was taken to the cleaners at all. Will definitely be back. read more

I have a 2012 Audi Q5. So when it comes to auto upkeep and maintenance, it's going to be expensive. I was recommended to go see Bernard when it was time to get new brake rotors and pads. He diagnosed the problem correctly and suggested that I could replace the part by myself. I did fix the problem after followed his instruction. A friend noticed that the passenger door handle on my aging Mercedes was undone - he said "You know who you should go to? Bernard." I took his advice called Mechano and showed Bernard the door handle and also the disabled center console that was not working/opening/closing properly, plus the plastic plate around the shifter that had come undone. (Why not get all the little non-critical, but annoying, things fixed at the same time?) He fixed all three items, and went way above what most shops would have done. Rather than simply removing and replacing the large center console (which 100% of other shops would have done and passed on a huge cost for Mercedes parts), he patiently took the multi-spring/latching piece apart and expertly put it back together - good as new! (I could have never done that!) All at a very, very, reasonable cost. Yes, it is not exactly a convenient location, but he will work with you on getting you and the car to/from him.
