This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, hands down. IMO, the sauces and the salsa are why this restaurant reigns supreme. It's not Tex-Mex and I'm glad for that. (Disclaimer - there is absolutely nothing wrong with Tex-Mex, but when I want Mexican food that's not what I want.) When seated, they give you both red and green salsa with delightful homemade tortilla chips. They have a small menu of housemaid cocktails, and I have enjoyed several of them. Their guacamole is great as an appetizer. As far as entrées go, I have liked the tacos, the salads, and enchiladas. For dessert, their churros, their tres lèche and their flan are all delightful. Everyone that works here that I have encountered has been absolutely lovely and the food is so good... I would come back here again and again and again. Wow. 10/10 food, drinks, atmosphere, service. All around, Meche Cocina has really nailed it for a great restaurant a step above the causality of your typical Mexican restaurant. I have long had this restaurant on my watch list and now am sad I didn't come try it earlier. I was very surprised to find somewhere with such raving reviews so close to home. I very quickly realised why reviews raved, and have to say I completely agree. Their outdoor patio is seated beautifully overlooking a nearby pond and fountain, and indoor atmosphere seems to be a wonderful warmly decorated space. We were craving some Mexican food and came across this beautiful Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating. They have a smaller menu compared to other Mexicans places which I loved. We ordered there non alcoholic heinkin cocoktail, not a huge fan of sour cocktails so did not enjoy it as much but looked pretty fancy. Their red and green salsa and chips was just mind blowing, very crispy thin and freshly fried. For main course we ordered their grilled shrimp tacos, kids chicken quesadillas and black mole enchiladas. The tacos and quesadillas definitely tasted great, loved the perfectly grilled shrimp with guacamole on a soft tortillas, chicken quesadilla were less cheesy with more chicken that I really liked. Their rice and beans was absolutely delicious. The black mole enchiladas was an interesting dish, we dint quite enjoy the taste of the black mole which when we enquired about found out that it's a delicacy that's made of peanuts and 50 other ingredients. May be we need to develop a taste for it and then try it again. So order only when you really like experimenting with food coz it's also expensive. Overall a great experience and lot of learning haha. For desserts we wanted to try their churros, which was pretty average since the churros were still uncooked from inside. Stopped in at Meche Cocina Mexicana for lunch with a co-worker friend. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted, which was nice; but I don't know if that is something to expect every time. We ordered drinks and they were quickly delivered. While waiting on our entrees, we both noticed lots of pretty food coming out of the kitchen like wash dish was carefully crafted. When our entrees arrived, they were just as artisan-like as the others that walked past us. My fajitas were flavor bombs with warm chicken and beautifully cooked peppers and onions. My co-worker got steak tacos and had zero complaints. The sauces complimented our entrees well and were additional flavor bombs. Our experience here was just okay as we went in with high expectations based on other reviews. There is no reason that we would not go back other than there are better places to get Mexican food in the area. They have a great location on the corner of the shopping center overlooking the pond. The service was also good with attentive staff. The real issue was that the food was not bad but just okay and left our table feeling like we should have gone elsewhere. The mole was a little too sweet along with the birria tacos and quesadilla which were both extremely bland. Unfortunate that our experience did not match that of others based on ratings. read more

For food it was the enchiladas mole with rice and beans for me and the grilled shrimp tacos with tortilla soup for him. The food, drinks and service were all really good. Our second trip was a disappointment so I feel it's only right to update my rating. The restaurant had a strong odor - most likely dry floor drains since that is what it smelled like. There seemed to be plenty of staff and the restaurant was less than 1/2 full but it took some time for anyone to come by after we were seated. Service was okay from then on. Not great, but okay. I got the pork carnitas and only ate the pork. I didn't care for the sauce and the beans were room temp and flavorless - they needed salt and seasoning. That was disappointing. My husband got the flautas and thought they were okay. We got the chilaquiles as an appetizer and that was good. I've talked to others who say consistency is an issue in their experience. We were hoping this could be our new regular for Mexican but I really like consistency in food and service. read more

Excellent service--the people running this business seemed to care about their customers--from asking how our meal tasted, to asking how much we enjoyed our drinks, entrees & dessert. The manager was holding conversation with customers the entire time we were there--but he wasn't intrusive. Several of the servers who weren't waiting on us also asked! Again, you might think this was intrusive, but the timing was always right! Secondly, the Mexican cuisine was a far cry from what we have normally experienced in the area, and the seafood was extremely fresh! Don't sleep on the tacos!! It seemed more authentic (and delicious)! They make their own tortillas and that makes a difference--the entrees in this little spot seemed more like the restaurants we had patronized in San Diego. Lots of nice little touches everywhere! We had such a nice time--this was more of a dinner "experience" than just dinner. We love this place! Very happy to have a great, fresh Mexican restaurant in this area. Drinks are delicious and the chips and salsa are so good. They serve a green tomatillo salsa as well as the typical red and the chips are seasoned a super thin, nice touch. We've tried a bunch of different entrees, they have the usual suspects like enchiladas and fajitas, but also some more unique choices as well like a fresh huge super salad, chile nogada, fresh tuna tostadas, etc. Its a brand new restaurant so give them a little patience, but I think this place sets itself apart with the quality and freshness. As someone who truly appreciates and favors Mexican cuisine, I often leave other restaurants feeling underwhelmed -- and a bit heavy -- knowing I could've made something better in my own kitchen. Meche Cocina Mexicana changed that. It set a new standard. I went with the Skirt Steak Fajitas and my wife ordered the Sonora Steak Tacos. The beef was lean, clean, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. We started with queso, which paired beautifully with their A+ chips and salsa. My wife couldn't resist the Tres Leches for dessert, and I watched with pure envy as she enjoyed every bite. It looked phenomenal -- I'd have joined her if I weren't currently dodging sugar. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, clearly proud of the high-quality food they serve day in and day out. We're only in town for a quick weekend from the greater Atlanta area, but we'll definitely be back in November -- and I can't wait to try more. read more

I had the Birria tacos recently- was disappointing as it looked & tasted that it was just re-heated and not freshly cooked that day. Tacos were hard & chewy and the meat inside were burnt. Had Birria tacos better somewhere else. Ordered the steak tacos but was just okay. Cilantro on the tacos were wilted which means that it wasn't fresh. Paloma drink was good. We sat outside on the spacious patio that is tucked in the corner of the shopping plaza. Nice landscaping and view. The chips & salsa were as good as expected. We had fish tacos, the stuffed poblano, and quesa birria tacos. All were delicious - fresh and hot with delicious taco sauces to complement the tacos.
