If you have an appointment you'll still encounter a wait and if you're on the standby list even more so like I was today. I was able to run out and back home to grab something I left at home, but got called shortly after I was back. Quest Diagnostics has an easy patient portal/website to navigate. I had a fairly smooth visit for routine labs. The space for Quest - Sherman Oaks needs a bit of tlc inside the offices, you can tell things have just be refreshed with paint, but overall dated. Parking is shared with The Oaks Healthcare Campus center along with Mend Urgent Care, a pharmacy and others. You can find this Q.D. on the second floor via stairs or elevator in room/suite 208. Open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am til 4:30pm

Despite arriving so early, I wasn't seen until 2:40 p.m. What upset me the most was Carolina's attitude. When I asked her a question, she abruptly shut the door in my face in a way that felt rude and disrespectful. Afterward, I could hear her and a coworker laughing together in the back, which made me feel very uncomfortable. When I asked the coworker for Carolina's name, she ignored me several times, and I had to ask four times before getting an answer. They continued giggling, making me feel like they were joking about the situation instead of treating me professionally. I understand that delays can happen, but there is no excuse for disrespectful customer service. Patients deserve to be treated with courtesy and professionalism, especially when they are already waiting for medical services. I hope management addresses this behavior so future patients have a better experience.

As a nurse, I know what to look for and appreciate when you can tell someone actually cares about their work. I can't remember who helped me last time (though I think she was in the first cubby on the right, sometime last year), but I was having around 20 vials of blood drawn including some very specialized labs, & she took her time ensuring she had all the right tubes for the right labs, as well as enough of them. She also found a billing error in my chart, which she facilitated the correction of. As far as I know, she did not have to do that; it was above and beyond. Today I had my blood drawn by Jamus (I think that's what his name tag said, I'm sorry if I misremembered!) and he got more than he bargained for when he asked me how my weekend was and my response was "rough." But instead of shying away from what could've been an awkward conversation, we had a laugh, and he asked me what happened. He was very sweet to listen & sympathize with me, especially as a fellow pet parent. He didn't have to do that either! He was also very gentle with the blood draw & let me know before I left how long the labs were expected to take to process. This location is also not overly crowded, and they do have a parking structure, though they unfortunately don't validate. I was able to find street parking today but I don't remember it being as expensive as the parking for the Quest locations in Burbank near the hospital. Yesterday, we were convinced we'd have to spend hours in the ER because of the hook. Then we remembered Elite Urgent Care. They got us in right away, removed the hook, and had us back out the door in less than 30 minutes. It was incredible. One of the owners is a Cedars-Sinai ER physician, and it really shows in the quality of care they provide. The entire team is professional, kind, compassionate, and incredibly efficient.
