It's a sham of a Doctors office. The PA Elyse Lamont is very good. The office staff is a joke they don't return phone calls. Won't call in meds for antibiotics, after forcing to get labs they call and say the doctors insists on seeing for another visit fee. The doctor then says it wasn't any emergency. My 6 year old son was injured while playing. Rin at the front desk caught on immediately that we were underplaying how scared mommy was for him and kindly answered all his silly questions to keep him busy. Natalia at the front desk was also professional and kind. The provider FNP Kacy & MA Priscilla took great care of him & clearly did a beautiful job. We were in and out in under an hour. I had a very disappointing experience at this urgent care. To start, I called multiple times beforehand to check the wait time and no one ever answered the phone. I even went to their sister location first and was turned away - but they made me an appointment here for 2:00 PM. I arrived at 1:45, checked in, and still didn't get taken back until 3:15. The staff was unfriendly and came across as rude throughout the entire visit. They also ran multiple tests without informing me or getting my consent, which resulted in unexpected charges of several hundred dollars. The doctor was dismissive, pushy, and did not listen to me as the patient. After my visit, I called to report side effects from the medication I was prescribed and was simply told to stop taking it - with no concern, no alternative suggestions, and no support. Overall, the lack of communication, long wait time despite an appointment, poor bedside manner, and surprise charges made this an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience. I developed peripheral neuropathy and severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I lost all quality of life. I wish I was de@d. Cipro is extremely dangerous and 10 years ago the FDA said it's a last resort med, not to be used for UTIs. They said it can disable you. Danielle ruined my life over a UTI. I just got off the phone with operations manger Martina Nelson, and she defended Danielle and said they give Cipro for UTIs!! This visit was FAR different than my visit several years ago. This time, the building was super clean, front office staff were organized and pleasant, and my provider was great! He was prompt, he listened, and he was very helpful! I left with a prescription that had already been called in when I traveled 3 blocks to the drug store to pick it up. If you have used this clinic in the past and been unhappy, I highly recommend giving them another try. They were great this time! read more

I had to find a place to bring my adult daughter as she wasn't feeling well. This location has you get an app time and sit waiting in your car. The front staff was pleasant. The building, however, needs some major work. It smells moist and dinge. We ended up waiting just a few hrs. Making use of the wonderful weather sitting in our car. Turns out she was covid positive, and they gave her 5 meds to help her. I do like that they took her seriously , and sometimes young adults don't get treated the same. read more

Made an appointment for my sick child. When I got to the appointment I was told there was a long wait due to walk ins. I asked if they honored appointments and was told no they are treated just like walk ins. I could have made an appointment somewhere that did honor appointments. At that point the lady told me I was welcome to go do so. Absolute stupidity. Obviously you have to book appointments in advance and that window has closed with med firsts dishonest practice of pretending they have appointments when it's really walk in first come first serve. 2 1/2 hour wait for something I made and damn appointment for! Been visiting urgent cares around the country for 20 years with Tricare . Make appointments in advance and have NEVER been told they aren't honored and we are still a walk in! I was up at 6:30 am and had they not been dishonest could have been her when they opened. Instead I believed their "appointment" time and waited until then. Now I am going to miss my other appointments due to the 2 1/2 hour wait which again had they NOT been dishonest I would have come in when they opened. If you want to wait five hours for "urgent " care, then this is the place for you. The doctor prescribed antibiotics even though there was no sign of infection, just to cover his ass because he didn't know what the problem was. On my visit in September 2023,I was told I would be contacted about a referral. I called countless times for the status and no one returned my call until today (more than a week after I left the last message) and told me the referrals were sent December 1, 2024 ( 1 day short of two months ago). No explanation as to why it took so long or why I wasn't notified. I told their billing department over and over that I would not pay the bill in full until I received my services in full (meaning the referral). Of course they put me in collections. I am having trouble finding a medical provider in Onslow County who doesn't have an incompetent staff. This one is the biggest offender. read more

I was third in line before the doors even opened and it is now 10:31 AM, 2.5 hours AFTER opening and I am STILL here. I came for a pre-employment physical and drug test - $95. They have tacked on an additional $85 for other tests/exams. Urgent cares can be so hit or miss but beginning with Myosha at the front dest who was kind, prompt, clearly knows the ins and outs of her job to Elizabeth Roberts the PA who listened, promptly decided on a course of treatment and had antibiotics sent before I could leave the parking lot it was truly a wonderful experience. My husband came in for a drug test, thinking this shouldn't take very long. Yes there was a lot of people waiting, but it is an urgent care. My husband wasn't waiting to see the doctor, it's been an HOUR and HALF and he is still waiting to take his drug test. This was where his employer told him to go, I would recommend trying to get your drug test done literally anywhere else. Update : It's now been over 2 hours, and other people who were complaining got to ahead of my husband. They keep saying he is next, that's been going on for the last 45 minutes. Their excuses is it's just been so busy and they are short staffed. It should not take over 2 hours to collect a urine sample. We were unable to get on the phone after they did not send over the prescription for my niece who needed the medication that same day. Terrible service. My mother, who is a nurse, had to provide care and educate my sister in law on what to do since they did not give her any help in the office. The facility did not provide discharge papers and originally refused to provide a paper prescription. When we tried to pick up the prescription from the pharmacy and realized it wasn't there, they did not respond to our calls. We had to drive back to the pharmacy and tell them in person to resend it. Made an appointment the day before and when we arrived the next day at the exact time we needed to be there, we waited over 2 hours to be seen. My wife got a blood test and urine test and when she waited over another hour to get her results for the urine test, so we started to walk out the door. I went here on Sunday morning due to a pinched nerve in my lower back and I can not express strongly enough that this is the WORST clinic that I have ever visited. First of all, it is disgustingly filthy and not clean. Second of all, they insisted that I pay for a pregnancy test even though I told them several times that I had a tubal ligation and my husband had a vasectomy. Third of all, they made me pay for three lumbar X-rays even though I told them that I had a long history of a pinched nerve in my back from a car accident and it was hurting due to sleeping on a hotel mattress since I just moved here. And last but not least.....the PA that was on duty treated me like she couldn't care less and prescribed Valium for me. She told me to take the Valium and go to sleep. I asked her what should I take for the pain and she said "that's all we're giving you, you don't need more meds." I waited over 3 HOURS and this was the subpar treatment that I received. My son went there today to get seen. He told them he has insurance and they told him that the payer portal wouldn't let them verify insurance on Sunday's. They also told him it would be $200 just to be seen. He obviously didn't have his insurance card on him so he called me to see if I could give him his member ID number for his Insurance and the number to call. He told me what happened and that they would charge him $200 for the visit. I happily told him to go to JCMC Urgent Care and they would verify his insurance and see him. Med First, Idk what you were thinking but before you tell someone that you can't verify insurance on Sunday you should think about that person possibly having a parent or family member who works in healthcare and knows about Verifying Insurance. Just makes me curious if your employee was hoping he'd pay that $200 in cash for their pocket. Read this to the end. After waiting well over an hour to be taken to a room, I was finally taken to a room and told someone would be right in to take my vitals. I've now been in this room for over an hour. No one has been in at all. When my husband went to look around cause we hadn't heard any noise, he found the receptionist, nurse, and others at lunch no one in any of the other rooms around us. When he asked them, they said they were very busy and someone would be in a little while. As I sit here and write this, the only noise I hear is the staff talking and joking around at lunch while I still sit here waiting for someone to take my vitals. Yup, they are all at lunch. Finally, someone comes by and says that there is only one nurse (the one at lunch) here right now, so she had to come on to help her out. Why did they tell us this when we checked in, we could have gone somewhere else. After a lot of complaining and a little loud music, the nurse came in and took vital. The doctor was in 15 minutes later and took 5 minutes with me, gave me a prescription, and sent me on my way. Thought I was done, but no. As I was just about to send this review when I got a text, then they sent my prescription to the wrong place and are now not answering the phone. On my way back. I went to MedFirst Urgent Care for a rapid Covid test. I arrived around 12:15pm. I sat in my car until almost 4:30pm when I was finally called in to take the test. I didn't get my results until almost 7:40pm. They did say they were short staffed but having to wait a total of 7 hours for a "rapid" test was beyond ridiculous. The staff were professional and nice but did not keep me updated on the wait time or results. I had to call every hour while I waited. I had been sick for a month and after being blown off by my primary care doc and the naval hospital they were the only ones who actually seemed like they cared. At 10:00AM they told me that the did not accept my insurance. I think that I should've been notified of this when my insurance card was collected (at the time that I signed in).
