Went to MedExpress in Brookhaven, PA last week with my 5 year old grandson. It was 7:40 pm when we arrived and the place was open til 8 pm. The receptionist greeted us in the waiting room because there were no other patients there. I stated that my grandson needed to be checked and possibly get something to settle his stomach. I told her that the purpura (red dots) on his face was from forcefully vomiting and that he had specks of blood in the stomach bile that he was throwing up. The receptionist said that she had to ask the doctor if he was willing to check my grandson. I asked why she had to check with him since we were the only patients and the office didn't close for another 20 minutes. I could see the male doctor in the back sitting at a computer. The receptionist came back to us a few minutes later and stated that the doctor refused to see my grandson and that there was another Urgent care in Springfield about 20 mins away that I could take him to. Since they weren't scheduled to close for another 20 mins I asked why the doctor refused to see him and her reply was that the doctor said he reached his quota for the day and therefore didn't have to see him. I told her to tell the doctor that I was not happy with his refusal and that I was going to report him. This occurred on Tuesday 3/18/25 at 7:40 pm. Because of this doctor's refusal to treat my poor. Sick little boy who just turned 5 yrs old had to sit in the hospital ER for almost 5 hrs. Why do places like your company exist other than to make the almighty dollar? I mentioned to my friends and neighbors in our large development down the street from your office and to the medical people that i work with (fyi- i have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years) and several have mentioned negative stories from their families and friends that have gone there. I will be calling the AMA and the State Licensing board this week to report this doctor for unethical practice. What happened to common decency especially with a child. For the Aston/Media/Brookhaven area, THIS is the place to go. I was immediately greeted and checked in, and I was amazed how quickly I was seen. other places around you have to wait so long! They actually let my husband and I been seen together instead of waiting one after the other. Dr. Lisa Martin was incredibly friendly, sympathetic, and explained everything clearly. I don't understand any of the negative reviews, although some are from a few years ago now so maybe things changed. I will definitely be coming back here read more

This place should have half a star. I'll have to settle for 1. The kind lady who took my appointment was not there 5hours later when I came back. There is no sign that says they only take card payments no cash. They are transitioning whatever that means, I assume from human interaction to AI. The new receptionist behind the desk had cold dead eyes and was completely unhelpful. Go somewhere else. AFC is a five minute drive from Brookhaven to Aston. They are much more personal, kind, safe, clean, and inviting! read more

6 PM on Friday and I just realize my head has been killing me all day because my sinuses are aching and why did I ignore the symptoms for two days? And now it's the weekend and no suburban primaries see patients after lunch on Fridays without a prior appointment so what am I to do? I'll tell you what I did. I checked into the urgent care that opened barely a year ago in a neighboring town. I've visited when they opened to see what they were about and to check on their pricing an appointment schedules and I was impressed at that time so I bookmarked them. And I'm glad I did. When I got there it was packed with people in the same situation as I having no doctor around to see, late on a Friday. I spoke with two very nice and pleasant and professional ladies at the front desk who hinted if I came back in about an hour the wait may be less. Well I did and they were correct. After filling out the necessary paperwork I was seen within 30 minutes by DR DiMedeo. The doctor was kind, professional, caring and a good listener. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and a double ear infection. I was prescribed antibiotics of which I was able to purchase on site without having to wait another hour at a pharmacy. Another staff member Susan Arnoult bagged up my prescription and sent me on my way. What I'd like to note is that everyone I came in contact with from the front desk to auxiliary staff, to the doctor were professional, friendly and caring. Stupid me for letting it go on so long with self treatment. I'm just thankful that Medexpress Is nearby should I ever need them again. Two thumbs up and a snap! read more

I had a good experience here. The front desk was kind, had a sense of humor and thoughtful, all things that I look for from any physician. I had an eye problem (thought maybe pink eye). The nurse was kind and took my vitals quite quickly after unscheduled arrival. The doctor and I got off on a difficult foot as I found her a bit abrasive and responded in kind. I think the reason to desire a good bedside manner is that it ensures that the patient communicates their situation as accurately as possible. Anyways, we got back on track, and she was GREAT. Super clear, super professional! She dyed my eye and used a black light to inspect for abrasion and foreign bodies, and gave very clear guidance on how to use prescribed ocular antibiotics and related eye care (contacts) during the treatment period. She also suggested proper next steps (see your eye doctor) in case the condition stayed the same or got worse. One weird thing about social media reviews: they seem so often to be so negative or so positive. I think that they should be more honest, compassionate and thoughtful. Walked in to be seen, only 1 person in waiting room. Girl behind counter was on YouTube and didn't even greet me. Once I tapped on the window, she opened the window, rudely asked what I needed, I said I need to be seen...to which she said "oh you can't be seen until 4:45 ( 2.5 hours from that moment) So I left and went elsewhere. My sister and I needed to get a covid test after potentially being exposed. We asked this branch how long the wait was and was told 4 hours. Long, but we were willing to wait it out in the parking lot. 4.5 hours go by and we call to make sure we're still on the waiting list. Another 1.5 hours go by, and we check in again. We're told that we're not on the priority list and she can't give us a real estimate on time. This cycle continues until NINE HOURS GO BY. Whatever, I'm just glad to get my test done. Then the 2-4 day waiting period. They told us to keep an eye on the lab patient portal and they'll give us a call when the receive our results. I got a lab notification saying I was in the clear, but two days later my sister was still waiting. No call from MedExpress for my results. My sister had to call repeatedly only to find out that Medexpress had received her results a day and a half ago- leaving her out of work two full days. Under no circumstances would I recommend going to this clinic for such an important test. Check with your doctor or any other chain to avoid so much senseless waiting read more

I am extremely disappointed in this facility I understand you guys are busy but in your phone it says if you have medical emergencies just call. My wife went inside and was yelled out to go outside and call we are very busy !! The ladies at the desk are very rude and unprofessional and it's a shame we have been there a couple times and never had this problem. My wife lost feeling in her left side of her upper body and it was a medical emergency and the closet place to try and get help. I took her out to the hospital 15 more minutes away I hope it was not a problem bc of delay. I'm very upset and angry at this facility!! read more

1 star only because zero is not an option. They advertise no appointment driver through covid testing. Show to find out they don't do that. I was told to call at 8am when they open and I could get an appointment for that day. Over 300 phone calls to finally get through to be told sorry we are out of appointments but call at 5pm and maybe we can fit you in. Call back at 5pm another 100 phone calls later to be told sorry can't take you. However you can line up at 63o in the morning and get a test. Show up and get in line 5th in line get my test and when I ask how long the results would be I was told several days. I only went through all of this since they said it was rapid testing. When I asked about the this I was told you have to be really sick to get a rapid test. They are nothing but lie. Don't waste your time going there. Just set up an appointment somewhere and go at you appointment time. Worst experience ever read more

I waited three and a half hours for the doctor to renew a prescription for my blood pressure medication. Initially the receptionist told me 45 minutes, don't leave the parking lot. There was no explanation during the next two and a half hours sitting there. read more

I sensed I had a build-up of ear wax in one of my ears. I gave these folks a call. The price? Both ears for $119. That seemed reasonable. Upon arriving, they took my information - and my payment - first. That surprised me. Impressions: - attractive, spacious, comfortable, brand new facility. - plenty of parking. There was almost no wait time. Three minutes at the most. Elgin (I believe that was his name) collected info from me, took my blood pressure, my temperature, that sort of thing. Then Dr. Clarke checked out my ear situation. Yep, that one ear had a blockage. Elgin did the dirty work. Dr. Clarke then verified that he had done the job right. She gave me advice and instructions, verbally and in writing. And I was out the door. It was quick. And Dr. Clarke and Elgin were pleasant to deal with. In summary... Fair price. Quick service in a comfortable setting. Friendly personalities. I have nothing but positive vibes about this place. I would be comfortable about returning. read more

They are not clear with the process. I called and it was a 1.5 to 2 hr wait. Since I live less than 15 minutes away I figured I'd go home and come back. Big mistake a gentleman called me at the 1.5 mark to get more information. I left right away to go to the UC. 5 minutes lady called and goes "Hey, where you at man?" I respond with 7 minutes away. Apparently it is their policy that I have to be there waiting in my car. With no mention of that in any call. They canceled my appointment. I asked to speak with a manager and that was denied. In these troubled , chaotic times, I want to thank MedEx for taking my wife and I. We arrived at 07:30 am ( before the employees), and waited LIKE EVERYONE till 08:00 to start calling. We kept calling, calling until 09:00 just to be told call back in 2-5 hours. Well- (forgive me , I forgot all the names of who I talked too) we finally got in at 12:30. The red haired LPN and the doctor were VERY professional ! We personally want to thank ALL OF YOU. To all others complaining- you can't expect hurry up service. I m hearing horror stories of people standing out in this weather for 3 hours - just to told no more service- in Philly . BE PATIENT!!!! read more

Too long; didn't read: sexist male doctor didn't believe I was sick and then fought me about giving me meds when it turned out I was actually sick. Will not be going back. The white male doctor there is sexist and spent more time fighting me about me being sick than trying to help me. Here's how my visit went: "I think I have strep. I've had it before and I know what it feels like. It's agonizing to swallow and I've had a 101 degree fever for the last two days." Nurse practitioner: *swabs my throat* Doctor comes in: "we don't think you have strep but I'm gonna look at your throat anyway... oh. I guess you do have strep." The doctor then proceeded to stick his head out into the hall and ask if they had done a culture of my throat. They had not. The nurse practitioner seemed surprised he had to. The doctor said (and this is the kicker) - "I know. I'm just as surprised as you are that she's actually got strep." So they had to swab my throat again. And THEN I had to have an argument with the doctor about prescribing me amoxicillin because I'm ear infection prone and have been prescribed it so many times it doesn't work for me. He finally backed down when I told him under no circumstance would I be able to afford to come back if the amoxicillin didn't work and I needed a second round of antibiotics. Let alone be able to afford to miss more time from school, my internship, and my job. I then had to suffer through several minutes of being talked down to about how "you know, this antibiotic is going to be rough on your stomach..." Like, yeah. Believe it or not a grown woman smart enough to be studying for her doctorate is smart enough to understand how the side effects of antibiotics work. I would literally rather go sit an an emergency room or drive two hours back to my parents house from school for an appointment with my PCP than come back here. read more

Took my daughter there when she was sick & her Dr. could not get her in for days. We walked in and were seen right away, and were able to fill her prescription right there. All of the staff was pleasant, informative, & compassionate. read more

Dr. Clark & my nurse Elgin were great, very personable & both had a great sense of humor! Visited 5/6/2019 and was in & out in under an hour.
