Great addition to Berwyn food scene. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great decor inside, feels like you're in Little Havana.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recommend all the sandwiches and the abuelita caffe latte. Come and support great local businesses! Gotta try out if you're in the area.

So much good stuff in store for you here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]A warm, inviting atmosphere and a friendly, capable staff setting you up for delicious food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bowls are excellent; a tasty blend of fresh ingredients that bring your mouth to life. And some plantains on the side add a nice sweet touch to everything. The desserts are also delicious (try any of the pastries or cheesecakes), and the coffees are amazing. I recently tried a strawberry matcha latte that was delightful. This place is definitely worth a try!

Catered 1/2 pan of Lechun mixed in with Congri and Catored yuca pans.

Hello I definitely recommend this restaurant for some tasty dishes. I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle who was able to cater my order of Lechon for Christmas holiday to help ease the tension on cooking.I used the pan of Lechon to blend and add to pans of Congri and Yuca. A Wonderful experience and will certainly be using in the future. I recommend on stepping in and trying a few tasty treats for lunches, dinners or trays for Events. I was able to sample the congri from Michelle and will add onto my next catering order.

Went with some buddies to try it out and it was excellent! They had fresh baked pastries (try with guava and cheese). We had croquetas, tostones, and cortadito coffee. Everything tasted delicious and the staff was super nice

Ropa Vieja Jibarito - fancy cuban big mac. Very tender and flavorful

This is Cafe Media Noche with new owners. Similar menu but they have put their own thoughtful twist on menu items and same great prices. I've eaten through a large portion of the menu so far and everything has been perfect. The new owners are great and come with their own small bakery business which is a great addition. Lots of food for the price. The lechon and ropa vieja are both delicious. The ropa vieja is like a fancy cuban big mac and the lechon is very moist and flavorful. I love that it doesnt cost extra to get a plantain sandwich. Their plantains taste great and dont dry out when reheated like others. The croquettes are very crispy and delicious. Thank you, please don't leave us. I have cuban restaurant abandonment issues.

Came with my son because we were in the area, cute setting, just wish the food was good. It was way to salty and dry

I added a touch of salt. A nice thin sliced and tomato was on the side with pickles and lettuce. What a power packed lunch , and I only could finish half, so that's really a lunch for 2 $15! At a sit down restaurant, that's in a clean environment, in a great neighborhood. What value. Reminds me of the Pittsfield Cafe located in the lobby of the Pittsfield Building on Washington & Wabash Avenue downtown Chicago. Such a bustling a wonderful place at its peak time. Located across from MacNeal Hospital, Loyola Medical Cancer Center. Serving a great value to many visitors. Doing a great job here. Across from the Burlington Line, Metra Station. Easy stop. Oak Park Avenue , Berwyn. Many hair salons, nice bar next door: a small antiques shop west of here. Fantastic grocery store up the block just South of tracks. Nice YMCA facility just North with several Baptist Churches I noticed. Many beautiful parks, north and south down oak park avenue, just West

I ordered a garden salad that turned out to be plate of iceberg lettuce with some veg and Kalamata olives tossed on top for the same price. Choice of dressing consisted of Italian or ranch. If you haven't been to Pticek & Son Bakery, I'm going to assume you've been spending your life…read moremaking questionable decisions. This place is one of the last true old-school bakeries still standing -- the kind where you walk in and immediately feel like you just time-traveled to a better era. The smells alone should be bottled and sold as a life improvement product. But let's get to the main event... THE HOTDOGS IN THE BUN. Calling these "hotdogs" feels disrespectful. These are legendary, mythical, blink-and-they're-gone bakery treasures. Soft, pillowy, slightly sweet bread wrapped around a perfectly baked hotdog like it's being tucked in for the greatest nap of its life. And here's the thing -- you don't just casually show up and grab these. NO. You need a plan. You need strategy. You need to order ahead like you're securing concert tickets. Because if you stroll in thinking, "Yeah I'll just grab a couple..." -- congratulations, you played yourself. They will be gone. Vanished. Spoken about only in whispers by the lucky few who got there in time. Now here's what really makes this place special -- the grandkids working there keeping the family tradition alive. And I'm convinced these kids aren't just employees... they're being trained like it's some kind of secret bakery academy. I watched one of them wrap a hotdog bun with the precision of a brain surgeon. Another was moving boxes like they were in the finals of a competitive baking Olympics. Meanwhile I'm just standing there thinking, "These kids have more skill before noon than I've had my entire life." You can tell this isn't just a job to them -- this is family legacy in motion. Somewhere in the back, I'm pretty sure there's an invisible scoreboard keeping track of who made the most perfect buns of the day. Every bite is pure nostalgia -- like your childhood got an upgrade and decided to show off a little. You don't eat these... you respect them. Between the old-school charm, the unreal baked goods, and a new generation absolutely crushing it, this isn't just a bakery -- it's a Garfield Ridge institution. Pro tip: Order the hotdogs in advance, guard them with your life, and if you see the grandkids working... just know you're witnessing the future of greatness.
