Hope you don't depend on your internet service. Always having issues, never can get a technician. Said it would take a week, but the next day a service truck sat in front of our house for the neighbor across the street and the tech refused to fix our internet that they inadvertently messed up 2 days prior. I recommend anything but mediacom. We have been dealing with them for 15 years and it has never been worth it. Not their product nor service. We have Verizon fios at our primary residence and never experience these frustrations. Unfortunately fios has not been available so far at the beach. :( read more

Monopolized cable service in the lower Delaware area. If you've seen the South Park episode of the cable company, then you've dealt with this ISP. The absolute worst service I have ever received. Constant dropped service, bottlenecked speeds (not from my router or modem as they claim), horrible outsourced costumer service . I don't know whose pocket they're in, but we need more cable options in the area. Seriously, avoid this company even if you're not in the lower Delaware area. Two years ago we moved from Millsboro De. To Georgetown De .less than 10 miles from the first house. We had Mediacom internet in Millsboro and wanted to inquire about Cable TV and internet at our new home. I contacted Mediacom and they said they would have to come to the house to see if we could get their service. Twice they were no shows at the days they said they would be there. Never communicated with me I had to do all of the calling I guess should have warned us not to use their service but we really did not have any other choices in this community. After they did not come twice I drove down to the Dagsboro De. I was greeted by a very nice lady and she was able to confirm we could get service and set up a time and date for the installation. This has been my only positive experience with Mediacom. There was a window of time and date in the morning set for the installation, but again Mediacom was a no show. I called them around 1:00 pm and was informed the installer had to return to finish an installation from the prior day and would be there later that day. I have to ask now why did I have to call to find that out they should have contacted me to give me an update. He showed up around 4:00 pm and did the installation. I had I to clean up after him. As in most new installs the cable was left lying on the ground to be buried. This was not really an issue because we had no grass at that time but after 5 or 6 weeks I called them about the cable not being buried at it appears it was not even on a list. I told them I needed it buried because we were in the process of contracting someone to install irrigation and reseed the lawn. I was not home when they buried the cable but in the process they chipped a small piece of concrete off of our patio. But of course they just left without saying anything about that. I understand things happen and this really was not something to be concerned about but they should have left a note. I have called several times about the internet shutting off and my home items on the internet loosing connection. I was told to reset the router by disconnecting it and connecting it, this works but I really do not think I should have to unplug and reconnect the router as often as I do but I do understand power interruption can cause issues that can cause the router to be reset but often I am here when I have the issue and dot not see the lights dim or go off for a second. They finally sent a service man who spent no more than 30 minutes here if that long and stated he checked their box and the connection at the house and there was no problem found everything was perfect all readings were good. Now along with having to reset the router at time we are having an issue with weak signal and sometime a total loss of internet connection for up to around 2 minutes. When this happens it seems to affect every computer being used at that time. Both of us are working mostly from home right now so we need a consistent internet connection to perform our jobs. We have updated our internet service to the best one we can get here but frankly we have seen no improvement in the performance or reliability. I have talked to some of our neighbors and they have also seen some issues, one laughed and stated he was on his third router in three years. I contacted Mediacom,s customer care with my concern she emailed me back she was concerned about the neighbors signal being stronger then in an email later said that was not a concern that it was more likely a blockage in our one story house. OK I might buy into that but we live on ¾ acre lots and the closest house is 30 yards away. Pretty hard for me to believe their signals should be stronger. I responded again and explained that the issue we had effected everything in the house but still as told it was likely interference or blockage in the house causing the weak or loss of signal. They assured me that there was nothing more they could do. However there is another service person coming to the house to check everything coming to the house again. He is to be here this afternoon. Imagine my surprise when came home early to be here for the service man to come check the system and find a Mediacom truck parked in front of my house thinking he was here to test our internet. No he was here to check out a problems in the neighborhood and was able to track down one of the issues to guess where???? The box that feeds our house and a neighbor. He found the problem just minutes after going in to the box. This is the same box I was assured was tested earlier and checked out perfectly. Thank goodness there is one person at Mediacom that seems to know what he is doing. Based on my last visit from the regular service man I feel that likely it would have been another no problem found it must be your house. Hopefully the issues has been resolved but the fact remains I have been paying for a services that were not dependable. read more

Since we moved into our house in early December and started using Mediacom internet and cable, our wifi has stopped working more times than I can count. Since our Nest thermostat is connected to the wifi, this is a problem. We have had two technicians out, and the most recent one said the first one improperly installed the wifi. Now it's down again, and we are getting tired of the run around. When we reported the wifi outage of 11 days and asked for a refund, a nasty woman refused. I hope that everyone reading this review thinks long and hard before signing up with this awful company. We are going to try to get Comcast to service our area, since we can't tolerate Mediacom any longer. read more

Worst company with the worst service. Only option in area. Slow internet not getting the service I pay for. Have called many times to complain. I have asked for a supervisor a few times when I call and every time they are busy and I am told I will get a call back. No one ever calls they just blow me off. Keep hoping another option will come in my area so I can fire the hell out of them. read more

Could not be worse. If they were not the ONLY game in town, I would go elsewhere. They have no redeeming qualities other then them sucking the money out of your wallet or time. Don't try and call about your bill or any service if you don't know everything about yourself bill and property address and the last four of your social security number and your special code which is on the bill. Heaven help you if you have a paperless bill cause you don't have that number. If they had ANY compilation they would be out of business. It's easy to see how crappy they are if you show up at their office in Dagsboro. Often there is a line of people returning their broken equipment which they just recycle to the next sucker in line. read more
