I completed an 8-hour renewal yesterday. One of the best things about the class is that it brings an interdisciplinary cadre of instructors. They combine experience from civilian, law enforcement, military, and emergency medical perspectives to present a class that is well executed. So many other programs lack the hands-on medical component. These guys knew what they were talking about but they were humble and eager to share everything they could. It rained during most of our shooting portion. They made best of it and encouraged us to work through the real-world conditions such as slippery hands, wet equipment, fogged up red dots, etc. I'll be back in 2 years for renewal! I opted to include the AZ ccw endorsement which allows you to carry in 37 states (as of the date of this review). They provided step by step instructions on how to apply for it when they sent my certificate. It took me 10 minutes to apply for it when I got home. I paid the application fee and scheduled my fingerprinting. Worth it if you plan on traveling out of state at all. read more

Instructor came by and pointed out trigger. As an avid shooter, this is how you know these guys know their business. Very flexible schedules and made the day fun. I made the right decision with signing up for my 16 hour CA required training with this company. If you are currently looking for an approved training provider, I can recommend Medic Up. The staff is absolutely remarkable. Kind, courteous, patient and most importantly, no egos and very knowledgeable. Current Sherriff, retired Sherriff, EMTs and ex-military. They are very engaging, real life and personal experiences play a major part in the class room setting session and it's professionally ran but not from a stiff corporate structure. I really enjoyed and learned a lot from the in class training. Range Day: Due to the fires and their home range at Burro canyon not being accessible. Key actions were taken in order to access another range in order for applicants to be in compliance with their 60 or 90 day completion window. Another factor is getting approval from Agencies to extend the window due to the fires. I love how they were pro-active with their actions. A lot went on during the training at the range but the instructors took care of the situation and was able to guide the applicants through it all. The added Medical training was a plus, I now will buy life saving equipment due to this. Overall, I will return to Medic Up when it is time for my renewal, I might even sign up for other trainings they offer. I initially took a class with them in 2021, it was good. I then renewed elsewhere in 2023 and the other vendor was not so great, so I returned to medic up this last weekend in 2025 for my second renewal and the level of training has been increased substantially. Not that the class in 2021 was bad, it's just so much better now. I traveled almost 2 hours for this class and I will do it again next time. May 17th-18th, 2025 Another round back with Medic Up and the crew again. This time for the initial 16hr course for that they have been approved for Riverside County training. Have taken their courses before for the LA county initials and just like before same great experience with the class and instructors if not more. For those in the San Bernardino and Riverside county looking to sign up with a CCW training vendor these guys are the answer. They do not teach just CCW and live fire qualifications, but they also teach a portion of a stop the bleed medic skills. Packing the wound, applying medical chest seals to open wounds, how to apply tourniquets not to others, but also on yourself. The medical portion should not ever be boring or to be sleeping on when being instructed because it can benefit you and your love ones (great skill set to teach and train others as well). The class also went over laws for concealed carry holders, senate bills, what to do if ever getting pulled over being a CCW holder, responsibilities, avoiding complacencies, and mental health. I cannot thank Medic Up enough once again for being able to provide this training. I look forward to keep on continuing a supporter and participant in the future for renewals and any other courses available to enhance shooting proficiencies. Everything went well, it is my first training for the CCW, but I have no doubt of the professionalism and patience the trainers could have as in just a regular class with instructions. I am very happy I made the correct decision by choosing this class. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the future, or to any private lessons. On the second day, we were taught and tested at an indoor classroom setting. All of the instructors were kind. humorous, and informative beyond the scope of basic instruction. The training I received was actually hands on, as I was taught how to clear a jam and reminded multiple times of proper firearm etiquette while on the line. I've really enjoyed the trainings put on by Medic Up. I now carry 2 tourniquets in my pocket, a pack of chest patches, and a sharpie to mark what time the tourniquet goes on. Most surprising to me is that it doesn't feel uncomfortable at all to utilize all of the pockets in my shorts in that way. Looking back, it seems wild that, as the Medic Up instructors say, " One wouldn't carry the tools needed to patch holes as well as make holes". When I took a dynamic gunfighting class a few years ago, we did many force on force scenarios with simmunitions where it became crystal clear that getting shot in a gunfight at close quarters is almost certain. But by moving and being dynamic, you can significantly increase the odds that you receive a gunshot wound to a limb rather than a direct hit. Cue the medical trauma treatment techniques that medic up teaches. I also learned a technique for my non-trigger hand that significantly improved my accuracy--and I've been shooting all of my life. After my 2nd CCW class with them, I signed up for the CCW advanced course. It was humbling. In our minds, we can see ourselves perform under pressure flawlessly. But when put on the spot and in front of the class, emotions pop up that are valuable to work through. Just like how public speaking can trigger butterflies. That's what I really liked about the advanced CCW class. It was humbling to be reminded that we're all human and that things that look easy on Youtube are less easy to execute in real life when emotions are present. However, just like with conquering public speaking emotions, exposure and continuous education with Medic Up consulting will help you conquer performance emotions when the stakes are life and death.
