However since my release in Jan 2025 things with ATI have gone south. On 23 Mar 26, both my Medicare provider and I made an appointment as patient care thought PT would help in pain management. 8 pre-approved visits and then a Dr referral needed. 25 Mar, ATI canceled the appointment only to call and want to reschedule my original appointment for the 27th on the 27th. I didn't call back as I had a Dr appointment on the 31st and got the Dr referral. I then didn't go due to another medical issue. 10 Apr, I went into the NRH location and made an appointment for13 Apr. Today they canceled my appointment again only to call again to reschedule. **Complaint Regarding Dr. Krupa Patel and Methodist Richardson Renner Gastroenterology**…read more My name is Chelsea Edwards, and I am submitting this complaint regarding my treatment and subsequent dismissal as a patient by Dr. Krupa Patel at Methodist Richardson Renner Gastroenterology. I have been a highly complex gastrointestinal patient under the care of this practice since approximately September 2024. My medical history includes significant gastrointestinal disease and multiple major abdominal surgeries, making continuity of care especially important. Due to the complexity of my medical condition, I have relied heavily on specialty gastroenterology care for ongoing management and treatment. Approximately six to eight months ago, I had a difficult encounter with a nurse practitioner within the practice. During that interaction, there was a disagreement, and I expressed my intention to file a complaint with the Board of Nursing regarding my concerns about that encounter. Following discussions with upper-level management within the practice, a decision was made that I would no longer see that specific nurse practitioner. However, I was specifically informed that I could remain a patient of Dr. Krupa Patel and continue receiving care through the practice. Following that incident, I had no further conflicts, confrontations, or negative interactions with Dr. Patel. In fact, I did not see or speak with Dr. Patel after that event. There were no discussions regarding concerns about my behavior, no warnings, no requests for a behavioral agreement, and no indication that my relationship with Dr. Patel was in jeopardy. In recent months, my health began to decline. I developed worsening esophageal symptoms and believed I required an esophageal dilation, a procedure I have needed in the past. As my symptoms worsened, I repeatedly contacted the office seeking assistance. Numerous telephone calls were made to the practice, and multiple portal messages were sent. These communications should be documented within the medical record and communication system. During this time, I repeatedly sought help but felt I was given inconsistent information and delayed responses. Despite my efforts, I was unable to obtain timely intervention for my worsening condition. What is most troubling to me is that I never personally spoke with Dr. Patel regarding my concerns. I was never given an opportunity to discuss my symptoms directly with her, nor was I informed that my status as a patient was under review. Instead, while actively seeking medical care for a worsening illness, I was abruptly informed that I had been discharged from the practice. If the physician truly believed that the therapeutic relationship had become irreparably damaged months earlier, I question why that determination was not made at that time. The practice had every opportunity to formally discharge me following the earlier disagreement involving the nurse practitioner. Instead, management specifically chose to keep me under Dr. Patel's care. It was only after I became ill and began requesting evaluation and treatment that I was suddenly dismissed from the practice. I am also confused by the language contained within the discharge notice. The letter reportedly stated that Dr. Patel would continue to provide emergency care for a period of 30 days. If my conduct was truly so problematic that dismissal was necessary, then it seems contradictory that the physician would still agree to provide emergency medical services during that transition period. This raises legitimate questions regarding the actual basis for the dismissal. Equally concerning is that I never received proper notice of the discharge in a timely manner. I was actively attempting to obtain medical care while unaware that the practice had terminated the physician-patient relationship. As a result, I was left without access to the specialist who had been managing my complex gastrointestinal conditions and was forced to seek alternative care during a period of medical instability. I fully understand that physicians generally have the legal right to terminate a physician-patient relationship when done appropriately and in accordance with professional standards. However, my concern is not merely that I was discharged. My concern is the timing, circumstances, and manner in which it occurred. As a medically complex patient experiencing active symptoms, I felt abandoned during a period when I was seeking necessary medical treatment. To this day, I cannot identify any interaction between Dr. Patel and myself that would justify such an abrupt decision. We had no personal conflict, no hostile encounters, and no discussions suggesting that she no longer wished to serve as my physician. Because of this, I am left with the impression that the decision may have been influenced by information or opinions unrelated to my direct interactions with Dr. Patel rather than based upon her own experiences with me as a patie

I don't know if it's inexperience or what but attitudes don't require experience. If you can avoid this ER, do it. These ppl are horrible. The staff is unbelievably rude. When my husband tried to tell them how to get blood out of him, they immediately started treating him like some drug addict. Uhm, no, he has always had issues with his veins due to high blood pressure but when he tried to tell them how his doctor does it, they said to him, "well this is not your doctor, so..." what? I think he knows his body. They saw he had great insurance so instead of listening to him they started poking and prodding not even asking what was going on. It was insane. No compassion, no care. Why are yall even there? Just because you have a license to practice medicine does NOT mean you know better than the person you are treating. Also, pretty sure you took an oath to care for others and if this is your idea of care, please, change professions immediately. If you have no empathy for ppl, why even do this job? It's so disheartening when these medical "professionals" see you as a dollar and not a human. We will never give these ppl another dime of our money, insurance or not. But, I won't complain without offering a solution. So, We left and went to Royse city ER, those folks are fantastic! Sweetest, most compassionate ppl. Go there if you can. Everyone was checked out thoroughly and we were all able to all go home with bruises and abrasions but we are all ok. Everyone from the receptionist in the ER lobby to the nurses and Doctors who were on duty that night were awesome! While there were a few nurses who were genuinely kind, attentive, and made me feel comfortable…read moreduring recovery, the guidance and support surrounding my baby's feeding -- one of the most critical parts of newborn care -- were completely inadequate and filled with misinformation. Immediately after birth, my baby showed no interest in feeding. I was told by multiple nurses that this was "normal" and that babies born via C-section often have amniotic fluid in their stomachs that keeps them "full." I asked repeatedly if it was normal for him to go so long without eating and whether I should begin pumping to stimulate my milk supply. Each time, I was brushed off and told to "just keep doing skin-to-skin." I was never offered a hospital-grade breast pump or given any meaningful guidance on how to ensure my baby was getting the nutrition he needed. For over six hours, my baby barely ate. When he finally did, it was only for a few minutes and extremely painful. I continued to express concern about how long he was going between feedings, but every nurse I asked insisted this was fine. I was told his stomach could only hold "a teaspoon" at a time -- a statement that I now know is completely false. Not one person took the time to properly assess the situation or explain what steps I could take to encourage feeding and support my milk production. What makes this worse is that even the lactation nurse, whose specific role is to assist with breastfeeding and milk supply, did absolutely nothing to help me. She did not attempt to guide me through a feeding, observe a latch, offer techniques, or explain how to stimulate milk production when the baby wasn't eating. I was left to figure it out alone, in pain, and increasingly anxious about my baby's lack of interest in feeding. By discharge, my baby had fed poorly the entire hospital stay, and I continued to experience significant pain during feedings. I specifically asked the discharge nurse to check for a tongue tie because of the pain and shallow latch. She looked briefly and said there wasn't one. The very next day, my pediatrician immediately identified a tongue tie and was shocked it had been missed. A pediatric dentist later confirmed my baby had a stage 3 tongue tie and a top lip tie, both of which were severely restricting his ability to latch and feed. At that first pediatrician visit, I also learned my baby had lost 14 ounces from his birth weight over the 3 days since delivery -- an alarming and preventable amount of weight loss. The pediatrician explained that newborns should be eating every 2-3 hours and can typically hold about an ounce per feeding, not a teaspoon as your staff claimed. Because of this misinformation and lack of early intervention, we are now having to breastfeed every two hours, supplement with formula, and pump constantly to rebuild my milk supply and help my baby regain weight. This experience has left me angry, heartbroken, and deeply disappointed. I trusted the hospital staff to guide me -- especially as a first-time mother recovering from major surgery -- and instead, I was given inaccurate information, dismissed when I voiced legitimate concerns, and denied the help that could have prevented my baby's early feeding struggles. The repeated misinformation, lack of urgency, and failure to provide basic lactation support were unacceptable and potentially harmful. I am requesting that this incident be formally reviewed and that action be taken to ensure this does not happen to another mother and baby. Staff should be retrained on newborn feeding protocols, early milk stimulation, and the identification of oral ties that can seriously impact feeding. The role of lactation support also needs to be evaluated, as the lack of assistance I received from the designated lactation nurse was inexcusable.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! INSANE PRICES FOR LITTLE TO NO CARE!…read more I came in last month after a car accident to get checked out, sat on a chair for a few minutes, had my vitals taken and had a doctor poke and prod around my body. The most they did was prescribe medication and give me 2 painkillers. Apparently all of that was worth +$12,000. I have been to a regular hospital's ER unit for stitches and was billed less than $5,000. The prices here are sky high, and they're taking advantage of people who are unemployed without health insurance. They did 0 tests and 0 treatments. The most they did was give me 2 painkillers and poke around, and all of that was worth $12k? I called the billing department, very skeptical about how I was billed, and the lady on the phone was incredibly snippy. Not even a full sentence could come out of my mouth before she was cutting me off. I am not satisfied, and you couldn't pay me to come here again. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that the at fault party's insurance will have to front the bill here because I was in a horrible car accident, I might even consider getting an attorney. PS: If you're wondering why the place even has high reviews, it's because they BEG you to write them one when you're on your way out the door before the bill even has a chance to come in the mail... Don't be fooled by the plethora of 5-star reviews, this place is scummy and predatory.
