Overall a very bad experience and I'm thankful I've found quality care elsewhere. The reasons for…read moremy 1 star rating are as follows: Dr. Walters misdiagnosed me, is illegally withholding medical records, thinks 8 weeks is a legitimate time frame to return phone calls, and is overall very rude and unprofessional. It is my assumption he is withholding my medical records and the office notes because they are incomplete and substantiate my claim of a misdiagnosis. Not only is withholding my medical records a HIPAA violation, it's not representative of a legitimate medical practice. I have made several requests both verbally and in writing for my records AND THE NOTES. If my Medicare and HIPPA violation complaints don't get their attention, perhaps a subpoena will. Dr Walters claims his standard time frame of 8 weeks to return phone calls is completely reasonable. This is absolutely absurd. Not only have I worked at several reputable medical practices, but I often have to reach out to various medical practices regarding myself, children, and wife. I have yet to come across anywhere else that its not SOP to return phone calls within 24 hours on a business day. At most legitimate medical practices 24-48 hours is the standard. When I dared to very nicely bring these issues to Dr Walters attention, he told me that I should be nicer to people who have "carried" me. I asked him what he meant by this statement and he did not care to elaborate. These items I spoke to him in a completely flat and emotionless tone. I still don't know what he meant by "carried you" since he hasn't even done the bare minimum, yet the billing system seems to always be working just fine. Finally, the parking lot, waiting area, reception area, bathrooms, and diagnostic area, were ALL very dirty and unkept. I'm sure if you have simple needs for something like near or far sighted correction, and you are willing to put up with the above, then go ahead and take your chances. Otherwise if you have low vision I strongly recommend you avoid this place for your own health and safety.

The staff is service oriented and work with you on fit and style when choosing glasses. Peggy has always helped me with the style to fit my face and I really value her opinion. I have seen Dr. Dagenais and he is very detailed and precise with his exams and takes his time. He spends a lot of time with you and gets to know you which is nice. They use this state of the art eye scanner that I cannot recall what it is called. Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover it but Dr. Dagenais was explaining the tech behind it and only charges $30 for it and it sees much more of the eye than any other equipment can see therefore he can detect issues at an earlier stage. If interested in learning more I'd suggest just asking. Otherwise next time I am there I will ask for details and update my review. If you are in search of an optometrist or shopping for new eye glasses I would definitely recommend that you take a "look" at The Eye Group!

On our last visit, she thought outside of the box and gave us an option (and hope!) that no one else has ever mentioned. Since my daughter's vision is "bad" and her contact prescription strength is maxed out (specialty contacts), she can add glasses to the mix to offset the need for stronger vision. What this means is instead of her "coke bottle" lenses, they would be much thinner and normal looking since she would use them in conjunction with her contacts. To me....GENUIS!!! This opened up a whole new lever of eyeglass choices for my teen girl since she is limited with having thicker/heavier lenses. Dr. Denius has been a blessing since meeting her at Milwaukee Eye Care from the pediatric eye dr. You will love her as much as we do, promise!!
