I've been going to this store since they were Stein Optical. Jenny was always helpful and wonderful but she had just left for the day. Nobody in the store besides me and two workers. I told them what I was looking for and the girl pointed at the section of frames I should be looking at. While I was looking at frames, the girl who pointed said if I wanted anything else Tracy could help me. Tracy never got up out of her chair. I brought six frames over and Tracy who was inappropriately dressed in leggings and a sweatshirt for frontline work, did help me choose three of the six frames and priced things out for me...all 3 frames were the same price. While fitting me, she had me look through a machine which, after I took it away from my face, saw the nosepiece I had just placed on my face had caked on gook from who knows how long. When I pointed it out, did she take it and clean it, no, she put it back in the drawer. I came home and washed my face without buying anything. If I had picked out my own frames and been able to put my own information into a computer to order, it wouldn't have been any less customer service. Pricing used to be competitive but it was crazy expensive. Might have to try one of the online places. read more

Not only was the lady at the front desk a little rude about looking into my insurance. I felt that the buy one get one free glasses deal is a scam. I picked out $129 pair of glasses and a $249 pair of sunglasses Why was my total over $600 at the end?! I should've gotten the $129 ones free on their sign it does say lenses and frames included but then she told me I had to pay $220 for the lenses to be added to the sunglasses She also said that it wasn't much of an up charge to do the polarization turned out to be an extra $75 when I told her to please remove it she said well that price will only go down $30. How is removing a $75 item only bringing the price down $30. I will never get my eyes checked at this overpriced scammer of a company again!!!!! Shame on you Vision works!!!! read more

I like how the frame prices are clearly marked, the selection, and the speed I received my glasses, but that's about it. Attitudes of the staff is lacking to say the least. Upon arrival all 3 were busy playing games on their cellphones, nice professionalism there. They acted like they were doing us a favor by helping us. Is spandex an applicable attire for a front of the house positions? When taken back for the initial eye tests the room and equipment were dirty. The equipment looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. I guess it's difficult to notice this when your face is buried in a cellphone all day. Despite the optometrist's presence during initial tests he never greeted me or said word one until he did the exam. If all you need is a pair of specs this may be the place for you but if customer service is important you may want to look elsewhere. read more

This was my first visit to Visionworks in Oconomowoc. I have worn glasses for a long time and this is the first time that I felt very satisfied with the service I received. The doctor was very complete and addressed the concerns that I had. I was very pleased. It is always difficult for me to find the right frames. Shawna worked patiently with me to find just the right frame. She was so helpful not only in helping me find just the right glasses but found the best pricing for what I wanted. From scheduling my appointment, to my eye exam (Dr. Dusenberry), plus great help from Liz (Thank you!) when choosing my frames, to picking my new glasses up just 3 days later, I was extremely happy with the entire experience at the Oconomowoc VisionWorks location. I tried to repair my husband's glasses to no avail. We just stopped at the store and Amy was very helpful. She replaced the missing screw in minutes that I have tried for two days! The screws are so tiny, lining things up and trying to put in an itty bitty screw, only to find out it wasn't the right one. Thank you, Amy! read more

So I went to this to get my eyes checked and to order colored contacts on May 30th, which in the beginning went very well. I paid more to make sure my eyes were doing well to see inside my eyes. I got to try which colored contacts I wanted and picked them out... And right at the end after I went to pay for them a years supply worth of contacts. The total came out to be for me $253.07 not including the insurance that covered $175. I had to wait for my contacts to be shipped to the store because they had to order them and have them shipped. When it arrived I had to wait a little longer because I work through the weekdays from 7am to 6pm. I had to wait until the weekend to pick them up on a Saturday. When I received the contacts I got 4 packs for contacts 2 for each eyes, packets for 6 contacts in each. I asked if they were monthly contacts which would make sense because I paid for a years worth. The receptionist said said they were. I've been wearing them for about 4 weeks, 2 different sets the same contacts each for 2 weeks and they have been hurting my eyes beyond belief after a week.. I didn't understand why. I tried buying extremely expensive eye solution to clean them. Eye Drops, three different kinds and they just wouldn't stop. I finally checked to see if they were monthly. It turns out that weren't even weekly contacts but daily colored contacts. The most expensive, $428.07 4Packs of contacts I've ever heard of. Not to mention. I honestly want to freak out.... This was literally the worst because I am already wearing them so i cant just return them. Not to mention on your website it costs $93.98 for a 90 pack for colored contacts for your most expensive brand, and i got the second most expensive. I do not recommend coming here, it was convenient and I heard from a lot of my friends and neighbors liked the service but this is a rip off. This will not be my last Review. I will be sharing this on all Social Media. read more

I was in the area visiting my dad. I fell and messed up both the ear piece and nose piece of my glasses. I went to Visionworks. Although I didn't buy my glasses there and told them clearly that I was from out of town, they graciously fixed my glasses and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes with no charge. I do not recommend going here! I decided to go here since I felt it would be more convenient because I work in Oconomowoc. After 3 months and three pair of glasses I finally was given a prescription where I could see through their glasses. According to the second eye doctor; the first Doctor I saw misdiagnosed me twice with two incorrect prescriptions!!! The technicians I met were not very professional at all. They handed me my glasses and didn't even offer to ask if they felt ok or checked to see if they fitted correctly. I have been wearing glasses for 35 years and every place I have ever been to has checked to make sure they fit properly. During my first pick up of the first pair of glasses I did ask the tech to adjust the nose piece. Noticed later when I was inspecting them that she put a deep scratch in my lens by my nose piece! I couldn't see any better with the first pair at all. My biggest issue is I was misdiagnosed TWICE and took me three months to get glasses that work! The second pair I couldn't even see anything up close or read my computer. Told me it might take a while for my eyes to adjust to the new prescription. If I wasn't using my insurance I would of went somewhere else. My biggest issue is with how many elderly patients or others are getting misdiagnosed and can't do what I can to get it resolved. Beware and go to someone more reputable! I will be going back to my local doctor and pay more to get glasses next time! read more
