Tucked away in a small shopping center, it's easy to overlook--but don't make that mistake. The vibe is dark and moody in the best way: cozy, calm, and perfect for settling in with a book or getting some work done. My favorite feature was the counter seating along the front window. I claimed a little corner seat where I could soak up some natural light, sip my coffee, and happily disappear into my book. Even with several people inside, it never felt noisy or distracting. The baristas were incredibly friendly and took the time to walk me through their menu and offer recommendations. I ended up ordering the Coco- Ro-Dachio iced latte (coconut, chocolate, and pistachio) and asked for it to be less sweet. I recently went to this cafe in San Antonio during a work trip and had a terrible experience. The atmosphere was a little uneasy at the register and it appeared unclean behind the counter. I noticed the barista using spoons for drinks that were previously in what appeared to look like dirty water from my view (literally a brown color). I ordered the balsamic avocado toast and unfortunately it came with a tiny brown looking bug. I immediately threw away my food. I should have left as soon as I noticed the signs of uncleanliness behind the counter. I would not recommend this place to anyone . First time I had there coffee was at a school event where they donated coffee. Great introduction to the community and have been at a location very close to me but I never had a chance to go to. So this summer on my coffee tour I stopped by to try the flight. It was a lot for one person but I am glad I tried it. Too sweet for me but they will accommodate to your taste. We got here today and someone meet us at the door to tell us that they were doing a private event and that they were not open to the public. Honestly, did not look that busy in there, but I get that they were probably gearing up for the event. This is the second strike out with us, trying to come in here and spend decent money on good coffee. Had to make my visit to Medina River Coffee to try out their spooky coffee flights this year. We tried the classic Halloween flight which had some changes to it since last year. My favorites on the board were definitely the limitless void which was a ube and sesame coffee and then of course the Franken-Brains which was also ube based . I loved this flight and I'll be back soon to try the slasher flight , I love when coffee shops do fun little flights for different seasons . The service was great and fast. This is my second time visiting Medina River coffee specifically for one of their seasonal flights. Last year I tried the Christmas flight and it was delicious. This time around my friend and I came to try their Halloween flights. They have two to choose from we went with the slasher flight. Their seasonal flights are $20 and they're perfect to share with a friend! We each tried all of them and chose 2 of our favorites to have for ourselves. There isn't a ton of places to sit inside- 4 tables (barstools are low backs so not too comfy) and a small bar stool area, and one table outside- so get here early to avoid a long wait and to get seating if you're wanting to try a flight ! They do have a few pastries but true breakfast items so if you're hungry there is a taco place next door (they did allow me to eat my tacos inside here thankfully lol). Definitely a cool spot to check out especially for their seasonal flights because they have tons of variety. They do have a Thanksgiving flight as well that comes out in November! *no drive thru if you're looking for a coffee spot that offers it* read more

Really enjoyed the last time I came here and decided to bring my boyfriend to try it. Genuinely the WORST service I have ever had. We went in for a snack: Peanut butter banana toast, a matcha cookie, and banana bread. Off to a rough start because as soon as we walked in we weren't even acknowledged and waited at the counter for over 5 minutes just to have our order taken. Normally this is fine! People are busy, I get it. No acknowledgment of us whatsoever though. When we order the matcha cookie it rings as $6!!! instead of the $4 the sign that is in the case right there.... We actually had to ask to get it corrected which was crazy, your price was wrong but also who charges $6 for a single medium sized cookie. The employee tried treating us like we were stupid. She let us know it would be a wait for the toast, which is fine- it is genuinely just one person here with a reasonably crowded shop. We had 3-4 groups of people order AFTER us at least three orders of avocado toast. All of their orders got completely finished, presented on a plate and brought to the table etc. And then we finally got the Peanut Butter Banana Toast after 20+ minutes (I wish I was exaggerating) in a box thrown on the counter and called us to pick it up. And to top it off the toast was burnt to the point of being as hard as a crouton. To the point we THREW IT AWAY. 20 minutes for an inedible piece of toast. The employee was rude, the food was horrid, I am so upset to have even spent my money here. I want to support local places so bad but this was just abysmal. It almost feels like the bad food and service was because we complained and we got targeted because everyone else was treated fine. I have have worked at both coffee shops and restaurants and cannot even dream of treating people like this. We will not be back. Do not waste your money, there are better options. read more

I just love coffee. I love coffee flights even more! The baristas were super kind and helpful. The venue is nice and pleasant. We didn't feel rushed off or anything like that. We were able to enjoy all the coffee at our leisure. This place is much more than coffee. They offer many good options, smoothies, matcha, matcha affogato (!!!!), and so much more. There offer several options to add to the flight and will prepare it iced or hot. My sister got an iced flight and I got a hot flight. Hot: Coco Ro Dachio, Killer Bee, Almond Choco Coco, Snickerdoodle. Iced: Killer Bee, Almond Choco Coco, Coco, Ro Dachio, Almond Joy (?) Many of the options have similar flavor profiles so I couldn't really tell l distinguish them amongst each other. They are also very sweet. Even so, one thing was for sure, they were all delicious. My favorite was the Killer Bee, which was the most distinct of them all. It contains honey, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. It was amazing!! The place is tiny, but the coffee and cake were pretty good. Service was at the counter and prices were comparable to most coffee shops nowadays. Not too pricey,but not super cheap. We looked over the menu and were all excited and have to admit the girl at the register wasn't very friendly and we asked if they had decaf since a couple of our friends wanted decaf and she said that they did not have any decaf. What kind of coffee shop does not have decaf? We couldn't believe it so it just struck us as odd and maybe she didn't wanna make a sale so we decided to go ahead and leave. Extremely disappointed. I was initially skeptical but went for their seasonal, summer latte flight and it was simply fantastic. The flight consisted of: Lavender Cold Brew Lemonade Honey Cinnamon Americano Orange Creamsicle Cold Brew Drumstick Affogato The Drumstick affogato sold me but while I really enjoyed it (I'm a sucker for drumsticks), it was my least favorite. The most surprising was the Lavender Cold Brew Lemonade - really good and refreshing. The Honey Cinnamon Americano was just like it sounded-and delightful. I was hoping this place would be good considering how beautiful some of the pictures were online but was more than dissatisfied when I arrived. Not only was I not acknowledged at first, the manager (from what I could tell) was talking poorly about his employees and even his own higher ups! In front of customers?! Met up with a fantastic amiga, Carolina E., here to share the Christmas cheer. We had a great time, and the staff was great. It was the last day of the hot cocoa and coffee flights, so the place was giving 20% off of those. The flights were both creative and delicious. From the coffee flights, I was impressed by the peppermint bark. I'm not a mint and choco (or coffee) fan, but this flight was balanced. The egg nog cold brew, on the other hand, popped with a noggy taste, but the smoothess of its cold brew base.... almost like a guiness beer. I was impressed with the hot cocoa flight too, and went straight for the mexican hot chocolate... great blend of flavors that complimented the chocolate abuela. The ambiance is chill, there's room inside to sit, and the MRC staff have a couple of tables that they put outside, if its a nice day. I've noticed that this place goes through waves of busy-ness throughout the day. The staff keep smiling and folks keep coming. Plenty of parking outside, but friendly inside. Pick up a pound of their whole beans and let your tastebuds thank you day after day. Pro tip: they have a buñuelo latte during the fall/winter that's basically a liquid churro (I know, I'm basic) and it's amazing. If you're not sure what you're into they also offer flights of small versions of their crafty concoctions so you can try a handful of them and then come back the next time for a full size version of your favorite drink. Another day, another local coffee shop! We popped by MRC when in SA visiting family. The location was easy to find and cozy on a rare rainy day. I like that they have a menu of specialty drinks and several flavors to add to lattes. We ended up getting a chocolate chai and a "friendly bee" latte (honey and cinnamon), both hot. Drinks were out fast, service was friendly and we lingered a bit at one of the tables. I like how they have conversation starter cards at the tables, which was a fun touch. I enjoyed my FB latte, and was glad that it wasn't too sweet. However, my husband was underwhelmed by his chocolate chai, which didn't taste much of chocolate or chai, and was just flat and milky. I did see that they have several cold brew options, as well as flights. I am hoping to return again to try more, like the blueberry pancake latte mentioned in other reviews. read more

They offer an array of delicious teas and coffees - decaf or caffeinated, and an assortment of alternative milks. The flights consist of 4 smaller cups of your choice of any coffee $15.00. The tray comes labeled to your table. For my flight I chose all decaf with almond milk: Almond joy- growing up one of my favorite candy bars! This coffee was at the top of my faves and not too sweet. Coco-ro-dacio- coconut, rich chocolate, and nutty pistachio. I love anything with coconut and pistachio, this coffee had very mild hints of all three. Could use a little more pump of the coconut and pistachio : D Duvalin- rich hazelnut with raspberry. More of a dessert coffee , this was lovely. Dirty Chai- spicy chai and roasty espresso This was ok, but don't think I would choose it again. I accompanied my flight with a wonderful gluten free fruit bar which consisted of dates, fruit, and oats. Sooo yummy! Really enjoyed this bar, I would totally order this again. They offer a variety of baked goods, all displayed at the counter. Plenty of cool vibe seating. Even noticed a small cup of conversational cards at each table. Friendly service.
