It is soft opening so I am a bit lenient on this review. The space is nicely decorated and good for small group meeting. The waiting is long around Saturday brunch hours - I hope they will improve after a few weeks know their traffic. We tried four drinks all with no sweet, but somehow the Adeni Chai was still sweet; Yemeni latte was good but I would prefer not sipping too much leaves when I was down to last 15% of the cup; cortado was ok, and Turkish coffee was sour. Met up with my best friend to catch up over coffee this morning. When we walked in, the interior looked and smelled immaculately clean and fresh with modern decor. I was extremely impressed with the pistachio latte and pistachio milk cake. The latte was creamy and the cake reminded me of a pistachio tres leches. It was loaded with pistachios, which I love. I've been meaning to try this coffee spot for a bit and found it by a happy accident today during lunch time. Nice place not super busy during the week. This used to be a restaurant before. It's very spacious and well maintained, very nice place. Service was great. The person who took my order was helpful in answering my questions. I tried the white mocha and person at register did say it's very sweet but he was able to make it less sweet. The coffee was delicious. First of all, this place is so unique. I love the vibe and decor. I ordered a pistachio latte to go. It was delicious! They must have used a housemade syrup because it was so deeply pistachio-flavored and did not taste like another other pistachio latte I've ever had. My only problem with it was that it wasn't hot enough, but next time I will just ask for it extra hot. My husband was happy they had several decaf options, too. The Qishir had a strong ginger taste as we expected and my tea the Yemeni Black tea tasted like just black tea. I couldn't taste the cardamom or cloves. What a treat! This neighborhood gem was hopping when we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. The cafe is bright, open and - in spite of the crowd - very tidy. This was my first experience with Yemeni coffee. The team was incredibly friendly and patient helping me navigate the options while avoiding cinnamon (I have an allergy). I opted for the Oreo Milk Cake with a hot double espresso. Chef's kiss! The cake had a subtle sweetness and the crumb was perfect. The espresso was noticeably different from the Latin American espresso beans I'm used to. The nose was earthy with hints of mushroom, and the taste was tangy with a mild bitterness in the finish. Yemen culture based coffee shop. The inside was beautiful! Lots of seating, beautiful decor and artwork. They have coffee, teas and pastries. I tried the Yemeni iced latte minus the honey. So delicious! Staff members were friendly. My only concern during my visit was that a customer felt the need to have a full on zoom meeting during her visit that you could hear throughout the whole coffee shop. I feel they could have told her to put head phones on or something to accommodate the other customers. But I also understand that's out of their control. I like that you can get your typical coffee or tea, but they also have specialty teas and coffees. I had to try something new so I tried the adani chai. I had mine without sugar. My tea was a black tea with spices. I didn't need sugar. It was delicious. My friend got the pistachio latte. The pistachio latte was really good. Not as sweet as I expected it be, which is a plus. They have the most amazing baked goods. I had their rose milk cake. It reminded me of a Tres leches cake. My friend got the pistachio muffin and I loved it. I want to go back for more. They have inside and outside seating. There's plenty of seating inside, but most are two seater tables. They do have music on and it is a bit loud. If you plan to go study here, bring your noise canceling headphones. Parking is on site, but shared with the other businesses. On a Saturday at 12, it was very busy. This place stays open late. I am a coffee connoisseur and then Yemeni coffee was out is this world good. I have had many different coffees from different cultures. Qatra has been my new hyper-fixation ever since they've opened and I definitely recommend you give it a try if you are a coffee lover! Service is usually great, and the inside is very aesthetic. It is also a great place to study because they open pretty late so they get super busy during the school year. Qatra's pistachio syrup is so addicting that my favorite thing to get here is the Iced Pistachio Latte*. The only thing is a cup of coffee can be quite pricey which is to be expected for speciality coffee. I also noticed the drinks can be a bit inconsistent depending on who is working. read more

The customer service has always been excellent. The coffee at Qatra never disappoints. I had the pistachio latte the first time I was there and it was great. The biscoff dessert was super delicious. On my second visit I got the Oreo milk cake and it was very good. The brown sugar shaken espresso(16 oz) was very flavorful. Qatra is now my favorite place to get coffee when I want to treat myself to some specialty coffee and desserts. The service was friendly and fast. The interior is pretty, lots of natural light and a calm, airy vibe. Seating is limited though. There are only two big tables and the rest are smaller ones for 2-3 people. I tried their rose milk cake ($6). The taste was okay but at this price point, it was kind of disappointing. It's similar to a tres leches cake but not as creamy or rich. The rose flavor was barely there and mostly just in the frosting. The cake itself felt like a regular sponge cake with red food coloring. I tried a few bites of my friend's cheesecake and pistachio muffin. The cheesecakes are on the sweet side. I liked the biscoff more than the pistachio one, more creamy. The pistachio muffin was moist. It reminded me of the wedding cake muffin at sprouts. I tried the honeycomb bread. It's almost like a focaccia but the toppings are cheese and honey. I feel like this building is cursed to have great spots that don't last long, and I hope Qatra breaks that curse and lasts a long time here, because they're pretty great. Boasting as San Antonio's first Yemeni coffee shop, Qatra Specialty Coffee offers a unique take on coffee and tea not found elsewhere in the city. The shop is blindingly white and pristine, spotlessly clean. It already has its fair share of squatters studying in corners, since it's perfectly nestled in the heart of the Med Center. In addition to your traditional menu (Cortado, latte, Americano, etc), I urge you to try the Yemeni Latte. It's a latte with cardamom and cinnamon. One sip, and you'll feel every bit as cozy and delightful. Baked goods in the pastry case are also pretty tantalizing, though I must admit the pistachio muffin looks and tastes straight from a Sprouts grocery store. The rest of the pastries look like nothing I've seen before, though, and I plan to go back to have a taste. Unlike other coffee shops, Qatra is open late. Very late. So night shift folks are definitely able to grab their cup before they start their "day," too. I have high hopes for Qatra. Since Qatra has opened, I've probably visited at least twice a week. It's safe to say that I love it here! I love coming with friends and getting work done here. It's spacious and has lots of tables and seating arrangements for large groups and solo diners. Of their drinks, I've tried their Adeni Chai (my fave) and their Yemeni Latte (on the sweeter side). I've also had their Dubai chocolate cheesecake, biscoff cheesecake, and the spinach cheese pastry. Loved the biscoff cheesecake and spinach pastry but the Dubai chocolate cheesecake was a bit overwhelming for me. Service is also great. The staff is super helpful when it comes to recommendations. However, because they are so busy I often notice that the bathroom is often a mess and the floors throughout the coffee shop are dirty/sticky. At the Barista's recommendation, I got their Yemeni iced latte. They unfortunately didn't have fat free milk nor 2% but that wasn't a deal breaker. My order came out fast and looked amazing. The coffee shop is nice and bright, perfect for lounging, chatting, or working/studying. The latte was definitely different. Lots of spices and strong.
