Nearly 3 years later and I visited Creme once again. This time around I ordered a cookie, cortado, and a mocha latte. They were nice enough to warm the cookie for me, and it had that "fresh out of the oven" smell and gooeyness. They asked me if I wanted my drinks for here or to-go and I said for here and they still served me in to-go cups, which I thought was weird. The cortado was not my favorite. It was bitter and acidic and the foam was looking a little yeasty. The mocha latte also had very little flavor to it, tasting like hot milk. I had difficulty finishing both drinks. Later I noticed they were using What's Brewing beans, and it made sense. I know many folks love WB? coffee beans, as it's a bit of a local darling, but more often than not I don't enjoy cortados made with their beans. Dirty dishes and cutlery sat on a couple of tables long after folks had left. I don't want to make assumptions, because there WAS a designated staff member for cleaning/wiping things down, but maybe those two evaded her. There's a sign on the wall that says, "I'm not for everyone," and boy are they right. They also stopped playing one of my favorite Radiohead songs (right in the middle of it!) to play Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. Now while I'm not deducting stars for THAT (because that's just downright petty), I can't help but feel unimpressed by my most recent visit. At least the cookie was delicious. Tried the lavender matcha at Crème Coffee Social and loved it. The matcha is smooth and earthy with just the right touch of lavender not overpowering. The cafe has a beautiful moody aesthetic. I had no idea this place existed, but I'm so glad I found it. Crème Coffee Social is warm, welcoming, and has a really calm atmosphere. They use beans from What's Brewing, and the coffee was great -- smooth and flavorful without being overpowering. The space is open with plenty of seating, free Wi-Fi, and some outlets, which makes it a great spot to study or get some work done. I also loved the artwork on the walls -- it adds a nice creative touch without feeling overdone. Definitely a great place to hang out, study, or even come for a casual day date. This cafe spot is super cute, it has a nice outside ambience, right by the river, and an overall nice aura inside. But I will say, the barista was a little rude! It was my first time and asked if they did shaken espressos. She said no rudely and said "that's only for coffee franchises" and that I'm actually looking for a latte. Which is fair, but she was just pretty rude and made it seem like this was some underground hidden coffee spot. Like gurl this is in downtown near the riverwalk. Very nicely designed space .. Plenty of room including work areas. It is a little loud when most people came to mingle with friends. They have indoor and patio space. What a spacious and bright coffee shop! I got here on a weekend to meet up with a friend. I got their mocha and spinach and feta croissant. The coffee shop is next to a law office, so I could see it being busier during a regular work day. The menu is pretty common coffee offerings, pastries and sandwiches. The aesthetics in this coffeehouse was perfect for the person looking to get work done but also have a great view when taking a break. The coffee house was very spacious and cutely decorated. I ordered a sugar-free vanilla and caramel latte with oat milk and it came out delicious. Not sure if they make their own syrups, but the latte came out very creamy and strong enough to wake me up to go on about my day. The location of the coffeehouse was one of my favorite things because it's right across the street from a bar, restaurant, and a bunch of other local shops to try. Nice new coffee shop near the pearl area. Very spacious and elegant and almost provides a loungey wine bar type of feel. We ordered 2 coffees, a blueberry muffin and sat outside to enjoy the lovely weather we were having that day. The blueberry muffin was very soft and delicious. It tasted super fresh and was a very generous size which we enjoyed. The coffees were a little confusing. We ordered 1 cortado and 1 capuccino. Both from their menu on the wall. The coffees we received were the exact same. We received 2 cappuccinos. Perhaps some training on the appropriate milk to coffee ratio on certain coffee drinks is needed. However, the cappuccinos we did receive were great, and we drank them anyways. They also have a grab and go fridge with a variety of drinks, including some wine. The décor is intriguing but not overwhelming -- you'll still be more focused on your guest or companion, but you can break the ice by commenting on the unique paintings and industrial-chic fixtures. Having just moved to SA needed to find a coffee shop to work at. I have my favorites already but decided to try Crème! Has a really cool vibe and loved sitting outside and listening to the sounds. This place had a nice, relaxed ambiance. I went here to study for some exams and it was enjoyable. There are outlets available along the wall seating to charge your devices, though the tables can feel a little small if you have 2 large laptops between you and whoever you study with. There is a good amount of natural light that comes in via the windows, and there are a good number of seats and tables. The design is also fun; I loved the victorian-esque paintings with the graffiti over the eyes. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, The coffee was good; not standout amazing, but good. The matcha latte was okay, I think there is better matcha around. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich which also was good. Creame coffee social, it was simple. It was nice. It was elegant refined. It was everything you probably look for in a quick go to coffee spot. I have to admit the ambience is really nice. I love the touch of paintings are around the place not to mention the options and decor of everything you can get the coffee shop. The customer service was absolutely amazing and I would say the customer service is on point couldn't ask for a better opportunity? There's tables, as well as seating with chairs and small sofas in a pretty velvet that are too comfy! My favorite part about this coffee spot is the location! It is close enough to the Pearl, so that it is actually walkable distance if you have time to spare and want a leisurely stroll. The coffee itself is so yummy and made to order. There's plenty of space inside and seating outside to do work or to enjoy a yummy cup of coffee. There are also pastries and bottled drinks (including alcohol) for sale. While I haven't tried any of the pastries, they always look delicious when they're displayed at the counter. I would definitely check out this newer coffee spot! Also, there is plenty of parking, but the entrance is kind of hidden--make sure you're driving onto the side street (between the apartments and law office) to get into the parking lot. read more
