A faulty, non-code-compliant water-heater installation led to mold / water damage, forcing our family to live elsewhere for over two weeks. The City of La Quinta issued a Cease-and-Desist / Stop Work Order, yet management still charges full rent and utilities while part of our home remains sealed off under a mold-containment tent. We've received no lab results or proof that our unit is habitable, and communication from management has been nearly nonexistent. This is unacceptable and unsafe for any paying tenant. We are reserving all rights under California Civil Code § 1941.1 and § 1942, which require landlords to keep units habitable and give tenants remedies when they do not. Linda who is the manager of the facility and her staff are the most caring, kind and attentive care providers I've come across. Seth, the owner, has a heart of gold and you can tell this has been a heart mission for him. He is so involved with all residents and ensuring that their needs are met. The level of care and love from everyone is a reflection of the top down model exemplified by Seth and Linda. You will reach out multiple for valid reasons to complain, just to get met with no answer and no resolution to the issue. It took multiple attempts of outreach for them to even "address" the issue just for then to follow up with nothing. Whats worse is that they claim they "read" your messages but dont bother to respond unless you follow up. Also when I previously brought up complaints the manangement said this and I quote "Well the maintanence man has said you make noise to", like really? Extremely unprofessional. The community is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and truly has a resort-like feel. The landscaping is always immaculate, and I love taking walks through the neighborhood--it's quiet, clean, and filled with friendly neighbors. The location couldn't be more perfect. It's tucked away enough to feel private and serene, but still super close to shops, restaurants, and all the best of Palm Desert. The management team is exceptional--responsive, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. Left my car doors unlocked for two years even with a credit card in the seat one night and noone took a thing. Ask if there will be any closures. A week after I moved in, the clubhouse, gym and one pool were closed for more than a year. Naturally, no discount was provided on the rent during this time.

I researched many locations and visited a couple of them and none of them hold a candle to the quality and care of the Segovia staff. Lori from Marketing made the process incredibly easy and treated my mom with such care and compassion. They helped me get really nice rental furniture quickly from a trusted vendor and made the move in process seamless. The building facilities are top notch and beautifully decorated. I have now had multiple meals with my mom at Segovia and the food quality is amazing and the service is excellent. The staff has made us feel very welcome in such a short time. In my mom's first week, she has already started making friends and participating in the multiple activities in the development and offsite.
